Any cad-cam guru's here?
Yep that's it, i rotated it around and i was missing lines. This thing is so simple in shape, I think its better to just draw it myself rather than try tracing. I was hoping someone out there had a slick program that converted a Jpg file into a 3d sketchup or a dxf file. I've tried a couple now with less than desirable results.

Creaking interior panels
Yea, if you can handle the smell for a while. If you don't want to take it all apart yea spray it. There must be some silicone sprays out there that have no oil smell. It may stain your plastic panel or even remove color if the plastic panel is painted because wd40 has solvents in it.

Yea but doesn't that stuff smell bad and dry out eventually? I've heard of people sanding the mating surfaces with fine sandpaper and or painting mating surface. But personally I used wax many years ago and its still quiet.

That's what i'm trying to do. Using a 2d photo. The part i stumble on is after its completely traced out. I try to pull it (3rd) dimension out, nothing happens.

Any cad-cam guru's here?
Starting out simple with one of these boxes. Then a radio faceplate. I'm starting to think a silicone mold for the faceplate would be easier. I did a knob with silicone mold and it turned out great.

Any cad-cam guru's here?
I've been trying to learn sketchup pro all day today. This is my first foray into 3d modeling. I'm trying to have some z things 3d printed. I've tried importing the jpg file and drawing an outline over the top but haven't been successful. Perhaps its the angle of the picture i'm using. I don't know. Anyone got any suggestions? I sure wish i had one of those 3d scanners!

The old girl has arthritis and likes saddle soap or wax everywhere plastic panels overlap each other.

Kenmeri coming to USA very soon.
What happened to all the right hand drive parts? he's keeping them? I'm wondering if there are any shops out there that just put block-off plates when they do conversions like this so that they can easily be converted back to their original configuration. That poor old 240z in the background doesn't get any attention at all. Very nice upholstery job btw. When I shipped my 280z over from long beach to hawaii, i could track the ship online. I don't know how many cars you've shipped, but from my experience, check real good for anything damaged or missing BEFORE you sign the release papers. I hope its going inside a container too.

Transmission Fluid
Yep, especially when the trans is on its way out. Why waste money on new fluid?

Transmission Fluid
How does the transmission work overall? does it slip when it downshifts into 2n'd? Does reverse make strange noises or slip? If any slippage, don't change it. Even if you did change the oil and it started slipping, you can pick a used jatco up pretty cheap to free. If you have to pay someone and can't do it yourself, i'de leave it alone. I never changed mine in 15 years but thats only because i knew there was a problem with reverse from the day i bought it and it wasn't worth changing. Reverse finally gave out but the forward gear clutches were still going strong with that old fluid. It was brown but not a really dark brown.
