Hard to tell exactly how bad (or good) it is really...seller is in SA (he's chasing them, has a wanted ad on Gumtree too), car is in Qld, so it's obviously someone who's called him up. Asking $4,500 now. Not as stupid as the sedan for $6,500 on Gumtree currently. Looks like they'll all be going overseas at this rate, no-one can afford them! Interesting that a couple 'reasonable' cars have been listed for correspondingly high prices and no-one has touched them. Seems a project can pull $5-7k, but a good one can't pull $15-20k!

Hmmm...seems the market's on the move lately! If I had a job, I would have parked a hardtop in my garage last week...alas, it's on its way to Saudi Arabia now. Surely have to land one soon.

This one was on eBay a while back, he wanted $15k+...had a good chat as I was in the market at this price before I bought my Bellett. I didn't buy it because the conversion was not approved and I'd have never got the car registered in SA. Has all the original goodies to go with it, but wasn't keen on paying the money and then having to assemble it all. If that's not an issue (i.e. drive as is) it looks like decent value next to the heap that just 'sold' on eBay, but never confirmed whether the body was restored properly.

I'm sure, if you can wade through all the eBay BS, they're still out there locally. I was offered a running project sedan 12 months ago for $1k, another September last year for $3k, I only turned them down because they were (a) projects ( sedans. Both were in Victoria. I passed on a coupe project in SA back 18 months ago, weeks before that I heard of a project sedan and hardtop being sold out of a scrap metal yard! All have been responses to my ads, however, there are now twice as many ads as there used to be, thanks to gold-diggers. Finding a good runner however, is a totally different kettle of fish...7 years and still looking!

Still looking, will go a sedan if anyone has a suitable daily driver (i.e. no projects) to part with. Optimistic, yes, but if you don't ask...

I'm starting to wonder whether it's possible to buy or sell a C110 online legitimately, the market place seems chock full of scammers on both sides...although the bidding exhibits the classic noob pattern of chipping away and not declaring your hand, rather than doing your homework and wading in with your best bid within the last minute. Could be a couple Arabian knights, but I hope not. BTW, Adelaide All Jap day...one C210 sedan (nice), ZERO C110's. Disappointing, although the mint Hakosuka GTR (genuine or not) went some way to making up for it.

Here in SA! I've lost track of how long I've been looking for a car...6 years? I'm after a decent original daily though...they don't exist.

It's a roller coaster ride, but after being forced to press the little Bellett GT into daily service, I reckon I'm looking for a daily again...it would be nice if I could combine my search for a C110 hardtop with the need for daily transport. I've been kindly offered a few projects on here over the years, but looking for a decent runner ~$6k-ish (yeah, yeah, I know there's plenty of gold diggers on eBay that want half that for a rusty shell, but the neat white one from QLD that sold for $6k a little while back is the benchmark)...anyone has one they'd like to move to a loving home, please feel free to PM me. Yet I get the impression (especially from the $20k comment) that the market is no higher than it is locally, so why are people bothering to steal all our cars and send them to the Middle East? The big money for C110's looks to be USA and Japan, from what I can see. I have seen several amazing C110 Coupe's on the market for ~$60k in Japan, the USA will pay $20k's no problem. I was not intending to go quite this high, but did have $15k to spend...a car didn't arrive in time, unfortunately.

This all started happening the second I posted a wanted ad...could have picked a good Coupe up for $5k, if one had ever appeared! Watch this space, I'll let you know what the next blue chip J-Tin investment is...

I'm surprised at the desperation out there...projects aren't that hard to find, it's good original runners that are difficult to uncover. When I was looking, I was being offered a project Coupe every couple of months, not taking into account ones that popped up on eBay and Gumtree. The weird thing is, had this car been a good original runner for $10k Buy Now, it'd probably still be there!

I spent my money elsewhere, now I'm out of the market...was after a minta anyways (someone offered me a decent sounding h/t the day I bought my Bellett, told him to post here). Swarf had to sell his, I assume one of the Kuwaiti boys snapped up MR240K's car, after that I don't think there's anyone left on here looking for a coupe. Plenty of 240K fans on Gumtree apparently, who aren't looking at eBay obviously, because this car looks like a bargain to me. Great colour too...will look awesome finished!
