Hey, good one Declan...I check Gumtree nation-wide religiously, so you timed it well! I guess this is a good time to re-affirm my committment to finding a good one, so IF anyone out there knows of a good to mint runner (so anything $5k up), I am interested. I don't want a project unfortunately, I want to drive daily...also as original as possible. Heavily modified cars from interstate are not going to make it through SA rego, so I won't pay top dollar unless it has the original spec motor. I'm also looking for Isuzu Belletts and Bellett GT's, Prince Skylines, Prince Glorias, early Corona hardtops (RT50 to RT75) and 1600S, 410 Bluebirds (especially SSS), Mazda 1000 Coupe, Honda Z360, Hino Contessa, Subaru 1400 GSR...anything similar, Japanese or not, try me Any leads, please let me know. Cheers, Duane

Cool! I'll keep an eye out for pics in General Discussion.

You beat me!?! Congrats! Resto or a good one? I've been looking on/off for a decent one since most of you guys were in primary school, had to pass up the best one I found to one of the guys on this forum because my son arrived 2 weeks before it came up for auction...not a great time to buy. Patient...I'm like freakin' Yoda.

No probs, hijack away! I haven't found project cars too difficult to locate (although not necessarily 'cheap') and I've knocked back a couple here in SA...I want a good runner though. If anything pops up for you, I'm happy to pass on details. Spread that Kenmeri love!
  5. I reckon Japan is, with possibly competition from the US and Kuwait, the most expensive market for Kenmeri's...I guess the supply is higher though.
  6. Hehe...thanks! You seem impervious to my subtle mind games...worth a try. I'm happy to buy a cheap or an expensive one, I'd prefer the latter...with condition to match the price, of course.
  7. Time to offload a Coupe...hint, hint.
  8. It was as good as in my driveway, but ended up staying in the 'Adzmax' family...yet another close call with no cigar.
  9. "...these are quite rare I have been looking on E-Bay for three years and I have only found one." Rare, yes...but he hasn't been looking too hard! On principle, I won't pay $4k for a car when the buyer can't even be stuffed cleaning the empty Farmers Union Iced Coffee cartons out of it. Does anyone out there have a decent one for sale?
  10. Anyone caught vandalising a blue interior will be shot for crimes against coolness.:stupid:

Very VERY tempting. I'm thinking that asking for forgiveness may be better than asking for permission.
  12. That's not bad! If it were stock, I'd be happy at close to that...not really a lot of money for a mint car. My wife would hate me though, she like's 60's class, I want 70's bravado! Off the subject, I remember a shmick gold coupe for sale in Qld about 6-7 years ago for $20k, that must be the most expensive Aussie K ever. Not sure if it ever sold though...you guys know the car? Cheers, Duane
  13. Now things are looking better financially, I'd be all over it like a wet rag, if it were stock. Any idea what he actually wants for it?

    Still looking...:cross-eye
  15. If it was a Hardtop, in any other colour than 'bronze', I'd be on the phone. Otherwise, I hope they know about Gumtree in UAE! Verrrry cheeky...good luck to him.
  16. Haha! Wow...that'd make a few people happy. I stopped bothering to check the blue one at $2.5k, with a blown motor and rust, I couldn't see the value in it past that. But, as they say, it's only worth what someone will pay. The brown one was good value I thought. Even with the ugly roof and wheels, it was still a good buy at under $6k. Interesting to watch.
  17. Ah, blue on blue is the ultimate - Kenmeri all the way! Thinking about this one, but the cracked head sounds pretty bad...can't drive on for cheap transport. I'd love to get it, dump and clad with white walls. Will be watching closely.
  18. ...and the factory sunroof! Was there ever such a thing? No record of a sunroof option in any literature I have, but I haven't got everything.

Spotted this, but no mention of whether it's a hardtop or sedan: http://launceston.gumtree.com.au/c-Cars-Vehicles-Motorbikes-Parts-parts-accessories-wrecking-240k-W0QQAdIdZ298376225 Cheers, Duane

Stop it...ya killing me! My wife and I had just had a baby with Laggy's car appeared at MGS Auctions, so it pained me to let that one go (even more now I look at the thread on his car...looks fantastic!). Something will appear one day...I've been searching carsales.com, Gumtree and eBay every day for 2 years, so not much escapes my notice. I guess this thread is to cover anything that pops up unadvertised - then I can stop admiring from afar and have some fun!

OK, attached is the sort of thing I'm looking for/expecting...if you have something for sale, please PM and tell me what you've got, and what it's worth. The more original, the better. My apologies if these cars belong to anyone here, I just picked them off the 'net. Happy to remove if it's a problem. Of course, I'm more than happy to consider something in better condition, as it will end up being this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4ZE4pehCGY&feature=related ..or this: http://www.righthanddrivejapan.com/view/main2.php?p=viewVehicle.php&C=98&pg=1&Id=250 Drool. Just can't afford this sort of car right now. Cheers, Duane

No, I'm good for it. I was all over Adam's blue one (Victoria) in 5 seconds flat...it would have been in my garage right now if it didn't stay in his family. So that gives you an idea of the cost and condition I'm considering. Basically, I want a good original runner I can drive and fix, not a wreck to restore, or a show car for $30k. Still, I'd never knock back a gift Kenmeri if someone wanted to give one to me. I'll post some pics of 'ideal candidates' later.

Sucks to be me. I didn't bother looking at the primer grey SA one (Sigma Turbo wheels), or the nice original looking yellow Victorian coupe on eBay a few months back, because they were both too 'rough'...then my job situation changed, and I had to take a drastic reduction on my goal of buying a fully restored car (not that they seem to exist!). I still want one, with less outlay, but missed those couple in the meanwhile. Found plenty of projects, but I've got 2 projects and no shed space left. Besides, I want a runner I can use. If anyone has any leads, I'd really appreciate it.

Cool, thanks. So I can probably load it with lead to refinish, I guess. Sorry to threadjack, I just thought I spotted the same problem on the top L/H corner of your rear side window. Cool car by the way, just what I'm looking for myself, for a rolling resto. I found a minta for a guy who was after a hardtop a few years back when I was unable to get it myself - now I'm looking for one, I've been searching unsuccessfully for nearly 2 years! Tons of projects out there, just not many daily drivers. I know you're not planning on doing an original resto, but looking forward to progress...doesn't a simple clean make a massive difference?

Guys, what's the story with the hardtop body cracking at the top rear corner...I note 'uras' car has it, so have other I've looked at. Is this typical? Or a sign the car has had a rough time? Is it something to worry about, or easily welded up? Cheers, Duane
