Hello again. I have now installed my itg filters and also went with bigger pilots (60 from 57.5) and the car is running great. The transition from the pilot system to the accel and main system is consistant and smooth and dosent drop past stoich and it idles great. Just keeping everyone informed.

Gentlemen, my accel pumps have arrived, earlier then expected, (Thank you wolf creek racing). I have installed them and drove the car around, stop and go, shut down waited and restarted, highway on and off accel opened her up, down shifting, power shifting, cornering, drifting and any thing else I could think to do and it seems to be cured. There was no hesitation on accel, even if i depressed the pedal super slow through its range it was smooth, it did go leaner on the AFR meter but that is to be expected but not enough to make a driveability issue. Maybe going slightly larger on the pilot jets and the AFR meter may not change at all, I will try it. So as of now Im running 220 main air, 180 main fuel, 60 pump nozzles with rod set at top hole (Most fuel), 57.5 pilots, on 44s with a 3.0 stroker kit, e88 big valve head, nissan motorsports header, k&N air filters, isky cam 360/500 and it is running good. I think I will go to ITG filters and go with 58.5 pilots and I should be going strong. Thank you all for your help and support and your input. When I make those other changes I will let you know my results. Im going to go drive,

This is my plan. I will put the pump nozzles in, put the linkage back in the middle hole and i can afford to screw in the pilots a quarter turn as I now have them out 2 turns to compensate. This will be my first real step. Ill see what happens and let you all know. If nothing happens i will pin it as hard as i can into the nearest body of water and let the fish have a nice place to make a home, .

Steve, just keeping you updated, i turned my pilot screws 2 turns out from seat so that the idle on the meter was on the rich side. It has helped with the hesitation but it is still there. But it keeps me positive that the pump nozzzles will fix it or most of it at least. Will let you know. Traveln man if you see this id like to see those dyno results as well. This is interesting.

Thanks for the info. I think ill go with the ITGs and spend the money on a high performance oil pump instead. Steve ill keep you posted on the jetting when they get here.

Those were the ones I was talking about. If they are restrictive then its ashame because they are damn sexy.

Cool thanks. Im thinking then ill go with itgs in the near future, but do you think investing in the air horns is worth the $250 or should i just continuing running it without them and just with the filters. I'd run open air horns but I live in Nevada and thing get quite dusty quite often here.

I will adjust the screws today after work. Right know they are 1 1/8 turn out from seat. Also I tried to adjust the rod a few threads but could not get it to move at all and i was afraid to get rough with it. Its almost as if they are jb welded or something. Ill try again after I get the nozzles and see what I come up with. If the end result is that im always on the rich side ill be happy as then i have an excuse on dumping the cash on air horn's to even it out. Do you have any expierence with the air horns and the steel mesh filters ot sock like filters from pipercross? Are they worth the money is what im wondering?

Hello. I am running a heat shield and I also just wraped my headers with that titanium wrap. I honestly dont know what size choke i have on there, and yes I have moved the accel pump rod to the third hole up (Top) for more fuel. I just ordered accel pump nozzle (60s) from wolf creek as they are 45s in there now. Moving it to the third hole helped but it is still there. What is wierd is when it happens if i rev it up a few times it clears up which is why I originally thought it was loading up and to rich but that is not the case. Watching the meter at idle is wierd because it actually fluctuates between rich and lean as a new car with an ecm would. It idles great and at wot it is right on the border from good to rich which is ok with me. At steady highway speed it is in good range and will every now and then hit rich. I will let you know when i get the accel pump nozzles in, (Should be a day or 2) and then go from there. After that I also plan on doing basic ignition tune just because, (Cap rotor wires) plugs and coil are new and I have the petronix kit in there now

Hello all. I am asking for some jetting advisefor my triple 44s. I have a 73 240 with a 3.0 kit,e88 big valve head ported, with a Isky cam, (360/500), all valves set to 010" cold, k&N filters, petronix ignition, holley fuel pump set to 3 1/2 psi no return, 7 dg advance timing @idle. Went through mikunis and set all float levels to 13mm accel pump to 7.5 mm and used the highest, (Richest) hole for the cotter pin on the pump lever, all jets are tight and clean. The car currently has 22 main air with 180 main fuel, 57.5 pilot and 45 accel pump. I am expierencing a flat spot around 2400 to 3400 rpm or at about 10% to 20% throttle, much more when engine reaches operating temp. Driving it hard its great and idles great. I hooked up a air fuel ratio meter (Autometer) and have found that it is a very fast drop to lean when expierencing the hesitation. After driving it hard it does not seem to happen for a while but if im driving it normal or around in traffic it seems to get worse. Anyone have the like situation or setup or have any ideas on a better jet configuration for me. Any advise would help.

Check out 'ERAM" units. I think its e ram .com. They are a bit costly for what they are but look like they would work pretty well depending on the set up you use. You can also put them on a micro switch activated by your throttle pedal so it turns on at certain times. I love the McGiver type mods that make you use your imagination and creativity. or that could just be because of budget restraints, , either way check em out.

That one is mine. The dryer hose is being replaced with a smaller silicone hose and will have 6 (Air jets) if you will, that go into the front of the filter housing. 1 for each intake port. the hose runs up to a electric blower, only about 2 to 3 psi which is behind the grill. The dryer hose was a test just to see if it would even wotk and it does. I dont really know if it adds any power, but it does keep fresh cool air to the engine. it was just something i was messing with, guess I have to much time on my hands, .

My z sputters and stalls on take off
Just throwing it out there, when I had my 71 240 i was running the su's and I always used ATF in my carbs and filled them right above the low line on the rod. It ran great from me with that set up.

If i were in your shoes, I would buy a updated fuse box and wiring harness from motorsport auto and your problems would be solved. Strange wiring is almost impossible to figure out over the net without looking at the car and touching the wires itself. Also try to find a manual, I never try to do any wiring without a schematic. But if it is a large red wire it usually means that it is a constant power (12volt) or the like made to handle heavy amps.
