  1. One of the comments said he looked like a comfy sofa.
  2. This happened when I got back into Z cars, 2011 I think, so I'm late to the party but wow is this cool stuff. Live at Daryl's House.

I'd rather think about Theresa Lynn sitting on the speaker in Howard Stern's "Private Parts" movie.

The rain came through here last night now it's headed up to you lucky guys.
  5. Chas you are the man, the transmission man, bumper conversion man plus whatever else you do. I bow to you Sir! Isn't this you???

I remember that! Mr Irwin I believe?
  7. I used the older style rod on my ZX transmission. The longer one that bends back more toward the seat. That short straight up one was too much knuckles into my radio. From what I read the one like in your picture with the spring is for popping to the middle on it's own when out of gear. FWIW only, if you like it that's all that matters.

Wow there's a lot of interest in old motor bikes now. I may sale my 280 and buy up a couple, less room in my cramped garage and people are paying top dollar. There's tons of old bikes around here. No electric start though, so that sucks like no A/C in our cars. The 240Z? I'll be buried in that one.
  11. My dead giveaway has always been the crack above the rear pillars. Every Z I've had has some kind of fracture line at this point. It holds the car together like a span bridge.
  12. Let me be the first lower states man to claim I've taken Heinz ketchup and Tabasco with some Dale's sauce and a bunch of vodka with horseradish and made some of the best bloody mother's ever. Necessity is the mother of inventions, thus the name.

Damn it! I will figure out a way to get that. Oh Zed Head....I'll get you one of these days. You rascal!
  14. They have the spicey/picante Clamoto now that I buy. A couple of these jugs and a 24 pack of tall boys and I'm good to go. Much cheaper too but who cares when you're drankin'.

Well well well. Lookie what popped up today for $3,000. It's about an hour and a half from here but I'd have to rob a quick shop or 3 on the way to pay for it. Times are tough for me at the end of the year.
  16. I love Clamato bloody marys. They're called Bloody Ceasars, BTW. I asked a Guatemalan I work with what she calls Mexican cornbread. She said "Mexican cornbread".
  17. $6 a four pack. I spend $12. It's not so much a hangover cure as it is a cause. I just can't drink regular beer in the winter and liquor brings out the monster Drankenstein in me. I mean know harm...
  18. Abomination maybe? I like "abhorrence for that abomination". Yes, I'm at home with my Cheladas on my off day.

Nah, $11,000 would pay off my house. I'll find a straight but ruff one sooner or later and fix it up. Especially after seeing that one you linked. Old is new money, cars and motorcycles, boats, blue jeans etc. you name it (except men and women).
  20. The only drawback I've ever considered is the coolant cavitation that @240260280 spoke about but I never just jump in my Z and hit the road. I have my rituals that I do while it warms up enough to open the main thermostat. Also they live inside, never lower than 60F.

Rebuilding a smashed bike gives us something to do while we are recuperating, right? It's always my legs that get busted and end up in a cast. I have also hit a tree Dutchguy. Seems hard to do and people laughed when I told them, "how can you hit a tree?" Well they won't get out of the way when you run off the road into the forest. Damn pine straw on the edge of the road in curves is like ice. You all better quit this harassment or I'll have to go out and buy another.
  22. I used the newer style and haven't had any issues after about 4 years now? I would do it again in a heartbeat. Steve, you'll get them on way quicker than me. I had to do some figuring out. Switching the short hard lines from side to side cut down on the bending needed. I do remember that.
  23. I can't tell if your pro or con on this. Doesn't matter but being a southerner that phrase could go either way.

Love that Suzuki! I've been looking for 2 stroke Yamaha RD400. My dad had one when I was a kid. Good memories.
  25. I plugged mine off. Car runs great. The carbs are cool to the touch now. The thing is most of those thermostats fail to close up when heated allowing the hot coolant to run through constantly. Plus you remove potential leak spots. That 90 degree hose at the rear of the head is suspect #1.
