That's a compression gauge isn't it? You can get an 1/8 npt at Lowe's in the swimming pool section. My local store has one up to 60 psi but that's high enough. The oe dash cluster gauge only goes to 90. With a high volume turbo pump on my pretty fresh 2.4 it pegs the high side while driving. After reading more it sounds like you're onto something electrical related? I was just thinking of some easy things to check first. Your cold start valve vould be flooding it with fuel after it warms up. You can unplug it to see. You can also unplug the auxiliary air regulator. Another cold start device. Easy things to check off your list of possible problems.

@jalexquijano there's information in here that may help your 240's vapor lock problem you've struggled with. The added length of hose is a fantastic idea I think. Whether it works is your's. Do not assume it's a fix for YOUR car. Just a hopeful solution or at least helpful to your car. You're reading the same thing we all are so what to do with the information is totally on YOU. Edit. I know you have round tops and a 72 year model so please save your time telling that. Read between the lines and hopefully you'll find something useful.

Could you soak the harness? mineral spirits maybe? It'll soften up rubber.

Reference I guess. I do not have one on my 240 but the 280 does. It was cheapest at Jegs when I bought that one, free shipping also if I remember correctly. I like the one I have. It had flex and made noise at high speed but I figured out how to reinforce the backside with the OE lip and it worked out great. 280 now, no history with a 240 air dam.

I live in the Northern Alabama area, at the beginning or end of the Appalachian Mountains. Luckily the worst weather always happens farther down where there's no mountains. I've read time and time again on here about matching proper components with each other. My best example is the hottest motor with old ignition system. I bought a really nice television and after all the hassle of getting it home and hooked through all my stuff was very disappointed with the outcome. I was frustrated and about to box it back up and get a cheaper no frills tv, much cheaper. Then the light bulb flickered in my noggin. I need the newest version cable box from xfinity.
