resurrecting a 1977 280Z
I have those same Stop Techs on my 240. I used ceramic pads without any issues so far and that was 4 years ago. No squeal whatsoever and I only drive it every couple of months. I remember the Zs I had in my early life and the brakes were screamers. One of the few things I hated about the cars.

Wheel wrench styes
Boy oh boy. All I can do is apologize and blame my elderly age for these mistakes. It has nothing to do with the beer I've been drinking all afternoon. Hey, it's my day off work! My car WAS built when the tire wrench was, February 1972. I'll find a good Fender video and send you. Cliff

Fantastic! Thank you so very much. I looked and my vin# is 69,6972. Kind of neat ending in 72.

New challenge - anyone had warped tail light flanges before?
I would use strips of wood and C clamps with a heat gun. Go slow.

Wheel wrench styes
My early '72 has the horizontal hubcap popper as shown in the OP's pictures. I guess it's actually perpendicular with the wheel nut end. Easier to pry with the later style. .

Z's on BAT and other places collection
Probably had the key in the ashtray. My Dad hauled cars after he retired and left the keys in the ashtray so he wouldn't have to keep up with them. Luckily he never got fired.

Anyone use 'Apple Hydraulics' for carb rebuild?
I've not heard of them but there's other options too. https://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/11-3001 Zcardepot.com has some but I can't find them for some reason. I rebuilt mine with the kit from ztherapy and just with basic knowledge it was easy and they turned out great. Took them apart and cleaned the exterior with aluminum polishing wad rebuilt the insides and am extremely happy with the results. The rebuild kit comes with a DVD that helped a ton, made it really easy with the rewind. I watched it a few times before I ever turned a screw. Another suggestion would be look in the classified section on here for some. If there's not any start a new thread about needing a good set. They're out there for sale ready to bolt on. Check ebay too. Goodluck!

Drivetrain Upgrade (clutch, trans, LSD, etc)
I have a Tilton 10lb 225mm flywheel with a Exedy OEM spec clutch and love it. I guess they quit making them for our cars as I can't find a new one on the internet. I did find this though... https://forums.hybridz.org/topic/50119-experiences-with-aluminum-flywheel-on-zs/?do=findComment&comment=438416

Is a L28 Internal or External balanced? new flywheel?
It was all my fault. It's cold here and I was bored. Too much of this

Part Prices Discussion
My local dealer won't allow that buying out crap. They're not stupid. I remember Reddit? I think on ebay was/is a rapist. California Datsun did the same opportunistic thing. Bad apples, I say, ruin it for us. I used to get a 30% discount but no more, those days are gone.

Okay it gets to the Xs and Ys. Hermaphrodite dogs! Damn... https://www.petplace.com/article/dogs/pet-health/hermaphrodite-and-pseudohermaphrodite-in-dogs/ This thread went to the wild side. I'm sorry my Dutch friend but some lobe in my brain isn't in the right place.

1973 Rebuild
Nice transmission cart! I may ask for the dimensions one day. I've got a few standing up that I'd prefer being able to move more easily. Thank you. Cliff

1973 Rebuild
How's your engine build? I remember reading about the very meticulous guy's comments and wondered if he finished it up for you. I think he buillt aerial motors? Can't wait to see the finished car. I've been keeping up.

Is a L28 Internal or External balanced? new flywheel?
Oh yeah Racer X, down here in the Deep South these redneck hunters put rubber bands on the boys balls cutting off the blood flow. Balls fall off so they won't get injured chasing racoons or deer or whatever. Don't want to scratch their nuts on a briar but put rubber bands on them for a month. Even worse they "cull" the females to save money on dog food. Use your imagination on my "cull" remark. It ain't good.

Is a L28 Internal or External balanced? new flywheel?
Good info, thanks for sharing but WHY do they do it? It's like that redneck flat tire joke, "guy pulls up and sees a lady standing by her flat tire and says you gotta flat tire? No, I let the air out." My dog has no balls and now a tatoo to prove he has no balls.

Since they did that he's been the sweetest dog ever. When he dies, and I'm already prepared for it this time, I'll get another boy and do the same exact thing. His "lipstick" pokes out every know and then but not aggressive at all. He's the best!
