  1. Thank you. Even cooler with these, and yes my Mom's my greatest fan.

Best baby sitter my Dad ever had, Honda 70 Trail Bike with the gas tank under the seat. I left after breakfast, came home for lunch and a fill up then back home at dark. Not something to do now days, but back in the '70s; Oh Boy! I've looked at getting another one for the memories but like you said they're high now. Pit Bikes.
  3. That soda blasting works great on the aluminium. Messy as hell but it'll all blow away with just the air gun. It'll make paint disappear too. Give it a try but make sure your air compressor doesn't have any moisture. A way to reduce the amount of soda be sucked up is to put a small nut into the pickup end of the tubing, a little less mess. Here's some carbs I did with the same DIY setup as Chris mentioned above. Here's some furniture I did for my Mom. The round table had 2 coats of paint, the smaller telephone table to the left had about 5 coats, it's OLD. It just disappears without tearing up the wood.
  4. I'm jealous, that sounds like a great trip. Fire extinguisher? Some fuel line and clamps? Have fun and be safe. Cliff
  5. You can get some covers for the fusible links off e-bay for about $15.

Steve is a locomotive engineer, but I'll quit. That block looks fantastic.

If they're in good shape they're bringing close to a $1,000 on e-bay and they're made better, heavier. I put the JDM's on my orange car and the originals with the red lenses on my red car. In my opinion YES 3 sets are worth 1 set of aftermarket JDMs.
  8. I don't plan to sale mine so I went with the JDM's clean lines. If your going to sale it, originals for sure. My car cover always got hung up on those bumperettes.
  9. Nice car, beautiful countryside.

No kidding! The bible thumping hypocrites in my backwards town finally allowed us to vote in Sunday sales. No more drunken Saturday night visits to the Stop and Shop. The big restaurants wouldn't come here without 7 day sales, and they are full of sports fans on Sundays. Weed's next, all these broke farmers with a lot of land. 11. Be extra careful with the external fuel tank, I wasn't at first and gas sloshed out. Too full and didn't stuff a shop rag around the mouth of the jug. Bungee cord it somehow between the radiator and the front lip where the horns are. The sending unit comes off and out easy enough it's those nail head connectors and their old dried out rubber covers that are a pain. If you put a flashlight in the filler hole then a camera in the sending unit hole you should get a decent picture. Good luck and have fun, I did!
  12. That's about as comforting as diarrhea. Butt thanks.
  13. Somebody on hybridz runs 40 somethings.
  14. I just heard from a fellow member who has the same cam set up as I'll have. He said the mechanical pump on his car can't keep up with his set up, sucks the float chambers dry at 5,000 RPM and the peak power comes in at 6,600 RPM. So I'll order my pump sooner rather than later.
  15. Read up on the BCDD. When I first bought my '77 it would hang up around 2,000 RPM for a few seconds then drop back down. They're adjustable so I got mine working. Also there's a throttle stop rod that pops out to keep the throttle from smashing down too soon. It's under the plastic white thing with a hole in it. Manual trans only, autos didn't have it. Here's something you'll find yourself using quite a bit, http://atlanticz.ca/index.php/tech-tips.html Go to "electrical" then to "electrical connection cleaning". It's an easy way to get familiar with your car and doesn't cost much but makes a heck of a difference. And WELCOME aboard the Z Train. Cliff
  16. He's got EFI, AFM, injectors in the next to last sentence. Check your air filter housing for rodent's nest. Have you replaced the metal fuel filter up front? Chas, I'm sorry if that sounded bad, I was on my phone waiting at the drug store. It's a pain typing with these stumpy fingers. Forgive me.
  17. Ten percent discount but no stacking. Somtimes it's cheaper buying on sale without your discount. I've learned I always get a better deal over the phone. They will try their damndest to make a sale even though the get no commission, supposedly. Garret is my favorite.
  18. 225/50-15 on mine too WRONG WRONG WRONG! 205/50s. Sorry.

We've done that. Got excited and left before flipping the lift switch. Ran all the way up and pulled through the ceiling. Put safety cut offs on the lifting cables.

  24. So with the ZX distributor this is all "pointless"? No need to study for Monday's test?
