  1. That guy, Dogma, deleted his in that thread about coating your tank with Por-15. I've been on this forum for a few years and have never seen a post from him. Maybe the fumes got him?
  2. Check out these pictures of an unvented tank, amazing. 1st post http://www.zcar.com/forum/10-70-83-tech-discussion-forum/295560-perils-unvented-gas-tank.html

Well hello Nice Car Guy. Those are beautiful.
  4. Seems like there's 6 on the top and 2 smaller ones behind the tag, for the metal finisher. The interior plastic tail light cover has about 6 too, if I remember right. The metal pieces have to slide into each other at the middle (tag holder) then they have clips under the tail lights you have to line up and push in to. It can be a pain to do without scratching something, be patient with that new paint.
  5. Yes, those are the ones (I'm talking to and about.) The vent is in that manifold up front on the driver's side? I've always thought the cap vented out the pressure. Motorcycle mindset. Thanks for the reminder, if you were talking to me about those bumps on the the outer edge of the gas cap. 8^)
  6. What about those extruding "U" shaped bumps? What are they for?
  7. Will you need 2 sizes, 88mm & 89mm? So two plates? Curious

A dulled #4 penny nail works too.
  9. Doesn't the gas cap vent? 240s do.
  10. This guy's vents through the filler neck it looks like, http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/17542-treating-insideoutside-of-gas-tank-with-por15-products-and-removing-evaporation-tank/ EDIT: It's the same as KurbyCar after I looked.
  11. My 240 has taillight assembly's then the surround is a metal "rear finisher". You can buy the taillights and repaint the finisher. It's all held in place with plastic push pins. Behind the tag are smaller but both can be bought from Nissan dealers.

I'm happy with my SMs too. Floats should be .55" from the lids. Stock L24 with small valve E88.
  13. Learned something new today. Never seen one of those.
  14. So anything can be done to an '85 or older car as long as you pay the $200? That's very similar to why I vote, it negates at least one bad choice. A Prius pulls up beside a Ricer and tears come into his eyes, from the fumes. ::
  15. 85 and below pay $200 for their toys to pass? Cha ching!
  16. That's amazing. I'm mad to have to top off the freon around here, house's and cars. 80 degrees Saturday.
  17. Yeah they get crusty. Cover the threads with permatex anti seize. I should use that stuff on girls.
  18. I bought all fuel hose rated diameters at O'Reillys. Quarter inch to five eights. Cost $68 including the clamps.

Looks to me like the rocker arm is deteriorating.

When I went through that smoke show, trying to choose the perfect injectors, I'd decided I was chasing my tail. I bought the least expensive new ones I could, I'm leery of e-bay sales. Fastwoman bought some FJ3s that look alot like your picture, http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/42603-fuel-injectors-fj3-or-fj707t/. I liked the open pintle design of the 707Ts. All the others would end up cracked like the OE ones I was replacing. Anyway, I got interested in the 240Z and their simplicity, fuel-fire-air. I don't have the patience to test the EFI components like y'all do. I take the 280 out every now and then just to hear it howl, it's LOUD and keeps the neighbors mad and away from me.

My 707Ts have an open style pintle where the ones in your picture look to have the small hole. Do a google image search and you'll see the difference. I think the Ts are just economy versions. I've been happy with mine. cliff

I owe you a Labatt, Blue.
  24. 2.5 turns, like the DVD shows. Turn them towards the passenger's side, all the way up, then turn them out towards the drivers side 2.5 turns. I live near the Gulf of Mexico and have mine at 2 turns out. I've never been to Panama but it seems like I've read that's a tropical climate and choke isn't needed. My car stays in 60 degree garage and my chokes are only pulled for 1 minute at the most. Sounds to me like you are using the choke as an idle adjusting mechanism. Are you using an air synchrometer to balance them individually with the screws by the dome tops? That's the way to set the idle. Your rear carb is out of adjustment or the float level is too high which could occur during shipping, it's covered in the DVD. Maybe watch the DVD again, it's extremely helpful.
