  1. Thanks but I'm DONE! Maybe one day? My hands and fingers are barely able to type this message, I've got temporary Z Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. But it'll be perfect for holding a beer can.
  2. Use baking soda instead of an abrasive media like sand. It works great for removing paint without pitting aluminum. there's a youtube video on a homemade soda blaster. A trick I learned from another video is to put a small nut in the pick up tube to reduce the amount of soda coming out, less of a mess and less soda to buy. You can get 2 lbs for a dollar at Dollar General. Good Luck, Mr Solo! You'd be shocked at how bad those carbs were on that motor I got from you. They were flooding that motor to death, it's amazing it ran. But the gas cleaned up the cylinder head for me. Cliff

ZTherapy I owe you a big old THANK YOU! My carbs are smooth idling and accelerating. Don't have to use too much choke on start up either. They cleaned up nice and work like new, I can only guess as I was 3 years old when they were new. Thanks again, Cliff.
  4. I did what you said and they came out good, enough for now. Cheap arse "chinese junk rant" stainless bolts had some casting marks I couldn't get rid of but like I said they look OK for now. The chrome bumpers look fantastic! Rear turned out as nice as the front after I got the bolts nice and shiny, thanks Roosiz. The 5/16" chrome ones from Jegs vs the right size 1/4" stainless after polishing:
  5. Read through this, lots of pictures too. http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/moustache/index.html
  6. They're $70 for a pair, my mistake.
  7. Oh my goodness! These are beautiful. Thank you mr patten.
  8. I think I'll get Nissan as well. $45 each isn't bad to keep the exhaust smell out.

I remember a convertable Z somebody on here was asking about from Beverly Hills, wonder if it's the same guy? It was red and the description sounded great but after we all got through picking it to death the guy decided to pass on the car.

I've got a set of 16" Konig Rewinds that I like to swap around on my cars. I don't really like them on the 240s, they make them ride higher than I like but they sure look good. I'm thinking I'll like the 15" on the 240. Now if Discount Tire ever gets them back in stock, they've been out since this past summer.
  11. Mine are on the Fed Ex truck for delivery today. Anxious to see the gaskets that'll be with them.
  12. Looks/works good! You're very welcome. I finally broke down and bought a Smartphone, this old dog feels really old now.

    "Vibrator Points"?
  14. Those look great! I tried the SS and some Mother's Aluminum Polish I had with a small polishing pad on my Dremel but never came close to that kind of shine. I need a wheel on my bench grinder anyway so I'll try them again, all 4 bolts and nuts with washers was only $4 at Lowes. Thanks Geoff.
  15. Well mystery size solved, thanks MSA, http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/classic02n04a02h/32-1035. They need to be 6mm carriage bolts. MSA's a little pricey though considering I bought the 4 5/16" bolts washers and nuts from JEGs for $6.99, http://www.ebay.com/itm/JEGS-Performance-Products-83770-Chrome-Bumper-Bolt-Kit-Includes-/400656125523?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d48f74e53&vxp=mtr

    He's in the Z flippin' business, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-Z-Series-240Z-V8-AWESOME-Custom-240Z-240-z-RUST-FREE-V8-Hot-Rod-Muscle-Car-EXCELLENT-TRADE-/161511723824?forcerrptr=true&hash=item259ad95330&item=161511723824&pt=US_Cars_Trucks
  17. I've been able to copy images then paste them to my replies with the new version. Or you can click on the bottom right box that says "More Reply Options", it'll go to another page where you can search your PC then upload the file. Then you have to "Attach File". Try to copy and paste first, it's much faster.
  18. My actuator arm had a contact pad for the cam nose. If I remember right. Without the spacer/insulator it wouldn't sit correctly.
  19. I like it! You could've put Classic Z Cars before Hybrid Z though if you're going for a purist style blog.

I posted this in another thread for some reason. I switched the short hardline from one side to the other and had less bending to do to make them work. http://www.classiczc...linder-problem/ If you do get the cheaper Centrics you may have to bend the the flat steel arm that catches the adjusting wheel. Your e-brake is supposed to adjust after a few pulls but mine didn't. So I took the tire back off and saw that arm wasn't making contact with the teeth on that adjusting wheel. The OE cylinders have the inlet hole in the center and the new ones are at an angle on the back end. Or vice versa? can't remember right now.

  22. Running with a tank below a quarter is bad on any car. Fuel pumps have to work harder.
  23. Seems like I had to get a putty knife and tap around the spacer to break mine loose. You could pull the valve cover off and wiggle the actuator arm from the inside to loosen it up.
