  1. Much smater replies will follow but I can say this, I hooked mine up wrong after a rebuild/update and one of the fuses under the radio blew. So you're protected at least.
  2. My only thing with vietnamese from futofab was the rear sides under the turn signals were they were right on the cars paint. I bought some rubber squares I think from Lowes in the specialty draws they have. Worked out just fine. Oh yeah, the stainless bolts weren't included so I bought those at Lowe's as well and polished them up with my bench grinder. Look good too.

Is that a crack or casting marks? Seems like if was a crack in the pump he'd have a hell off a messy floor from the oil leaking out. Once it's started the pressure builds pretty quick down there.
  4. I heard they were all damaged in Fed Ex cargo planes.
  5. It's the 3125. MSA has them but jegs.com was cheaper.
  6. I got mine from Jegs. No problems and a good price.

I've seen flexible aluminum hose used before. Can't remember if it was cloths dryer exhaust hose or water heater vent pipe, sorry. If the original rubber one isn't too bad you could seal it with silicone. We used Shoe Goo back in the 80s bought at sporting goods stores for fixing tennis shoes. Walmart has it online, not sure about in store.

You need that accordion hose from the AFM to the throttle plate. Is that where you're squirting start fluid? Also the TPS needs to be plugged in like Zed Head mentioned. Both are in this picture.

You're trying to plate rubber steering puck or those four sleeves?

    Brain fart. Thanks Charles.

If he turns it with a pipe wrench would he need to worry about what the spindle does in the distributor? I can't think of anything that it could hurt and he'll have to re time all that anyway. The rotor button will turn freely. Pipe wrench and a cheater bar if you have room or the hit with "big enough hammer" as Zkars says should brake it loose

You might get a screwdriver on this and give it a wrap or two if the rubber hammer doesn't work.

Look for coolant in the oil. Look at the dipstick, you might see some bubble looking spots on it.

I found switching the short hardlines from passenger's side to driver's side & vise versa lessened the bending required. When you get into it give that a look. May be helpful? Was for my car.

I'd put a rag over the drain bucket just to see if any rust or crud comes out. Panty hose from the $ store would be good too. They'll look at you funny, just tell them your straining paint.

Nah, even though I've done all that stuff to wizz my parents off I was trying to say how my life has done a 360 to 1989 and I couldn't be happier. I'm getting paid every Friday and way more than I expected. I did that "keep my mouth shut and it's better" thing I'd learned. I'm slowing, 52 and just figuring out I must bend a little if I want to be comfortable. I'm not trying to be a suck up but what I've learned, personality wise and Z car info from this forum has made me a better person. I like the help and try my best to pass it on.

Update: I made it 1 month at Lowes. I hired in on a part time job, 30 hours max. A guy quit in the lumber department so I got promoted/demoted to opening lumber guy. The last week I worked 45 hours. People can't understand somebody that just wants part time work. I made some good (some bad) decisions in my life that allowed me the choice of working. "Work is for suckers" was what I learned. Anyhow after I worked out my schedule and left I was freaking out on keeping bills paid and my good credit score. The paint store I started working at in 1989 is were I work now. 3 blocks from my house and we sell Benjamin Moore paint. There's a paint shortage now so we're the only ones that have any. The store is busy, busy and we have ridiculous prices but that's what is sales for now. $12.99 in 1989, flat wall paint is now $29.99 for pastel base colors. We have some oil that's $80 per gallon. Prices are a whole lot higher but I'm back doing what I did in 1989. Life is good! (but strange). My life is getting back on track so I'll be able to dive back into my Zs addiction. Thank you all for putting up with me through a rough patch. Cliff
  18. A lot of chain store staters are junk. Hope that's your problem, cheap fix. If you return the noisy one for another have them bench test it before you accept it. Good luck.

"It's not the heat as much as it the humidity" I hate that saying, hot is hot no matter the adjectives but those new dates are smack dab in the hottest part of our summer. High heat warnings everyday but Barber's is very nice. I'll be at the pool attending via classiczcars.com. Night time is the right time in July and August. We'll have our nightly safety meetings at the host hotel bar area. I can't wait!

I can see that too. The beveled edges in this screen grab is what makes me think that. A compression test would be next for mea The rings aren't beveled on both sides. I forgot about that. Sorry.
  22. I had a GSXR 750 Suzuki that I got 10.49 on a print out receipt from a local track. That's my best but on a motorcycle with the front tire barely off the ground. Scary fun!
  23. But it looks good! Question for the Guy. Which is quicker, one of the Zs or the NSX?
  24. If you turn it full clockwise and idle doesn't raise I think you're spindle drive rod is out of time too. At 0 dead center the dizzy end of that spindle should look like this pic.
