That's what I've always said, "beer's not drinking"! The cops don't agree with us either.

I spend about $75 a week. Some weeks I gotta stay straight to help out my Mom so I estimate $3,500 a year. Damn that is crazy. That's what I spend on food.

    Let them kind go!

I've gone a week with no alcohol, beer for me. I quit vodka about 9am New Year's morning 2006. Girls and drugs all over the place and I wanted to go to sleep, alone. Anyhow this past week I've gotten so much stuff done I may try this a little longer. It is football season and I'm an Alabama guy so maybe Saturday's only? Thank you both for ringing my bell.
  5. 2 hours, 80 miles and about half a tank later I'm officially a member of the "my back can't take it" club. Car was flawless.
  6. Just did the wire around my cracked horn button. It was a little more trouble than I thought but it's tight and "clicked" in place. It won't fall off again no matter the pot hole. Thank you for showing me that everytime I brought it up. It only took 5 years @jfa.series1.

I see a lot of behind the dash parts. #11 is the dome light. 1 thru 6 looks like the stuff behind and around the heater control panel? The middle of the dash where the transmission tunnel is.
  8. Finally got a taste of fall weather and got the old girl out of the house/garage. Didn't want to leave, breaks were stuck but more rpm and out it came. Topped off the tank with 93 octane and hit Country Club Hills. It rolls now by just just sticking my left leg on the ground and pressing foward. Yea for me! Tomorrow we're going for some distance driving. Maybe wash it 1st but it's remarkably shiny with the nylon panties type cover I bought. Fits really tight all the way to the ground. Good day in my book. So now it's time to get bad.
  9. This got me straight. After doing it once it clicked for me too, like Tweeds says. You can print it out and keep fuel off your computer/phone.
  10. I had the same problem going up steep inclines. The front carb would run dry and then it only ran on the back 3 cylinders. I could roll the car backwards and cut the wheel making it perpendicular in the road, let the front carb fill back up and it ran fine for another mile or two. My floats were way off but once I got those adjusted properly I went straight back to Cheaha Mountain and "tested" it. Pulled up that thing like a mule, no sputter whatsoever. The quick and easy way to get an idea where your's are is the clear hose method.

Those are dealer add ons from all I've read. It has white interior so the white stripe. I didn't really like it so I sold it and kept the #918 with black interior and rocker stripes. The window sticker from that one calls it "sports package". They're available if your interested. https://stripegarage.com/collections/datsun-240z-260z-280z/products/datsun-240-z-triple-stripe-vinyl-decal?variant=14729170374

Here's a #110 '72 I had a few years ago. Sometimes it looked red then other times more orangish. I called it "tomatoe red". This is original paint so it's faded somewhat...

Nice dowry. Welcome and thanks for bringing a nice original car for us to see. Whoa! Black engine bay. Look for the color code sticker on the passenger's side of the top radiator support. It may have had a color change. Still looks really good. http://www.zhome.com/History/ZColorGallary/index.html
  14. You might pull the valve cover and check the spray bar too. It could be loose somewhere and dropping oil instead of spraying through the small holes. Simple reassurance to me if you haven't checked it lately. Then again there's always the quicker way of removing the fill cap while it's idling and looking at the oil sling around. Mine almost jumps out of the hole so it's a pretty good amount flying around in there even at idle.

I run BP6ES in both my Zs with wider gap for the ZX dizzy in the 240. I did a lot of reading way back when and the general consensous from the other members were the 5s weren't much different with the newer gas we have now. I think the plugs he has are available in-store but the BP6ES is an overnight thing around here anyway.
  16. Looks like car models they'll work on, not signatures in my opinion.

Have you cleaned the cold temp sensor in the thermostat housing then the bullet connections about a foot back in the wiring? Your choice of the word "bucking" got my attention as that the exact way I described my '77s rough running up to 2,500 rpm then it ran good with good pull. Here's the "fix" but look through and you'll see the bullet connections, make sure they're clean and tight. The plastic connector to the thermo housing should be clean and tight. Last but not least take the brass sensor out and shine it up with some sandpaper or steel wool. https://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/tempsensorpot/index.html

Your social studies teacher told you. He must've had aids and drank from the fountain.
  19. Take the thicker gasket off when you go to the high lift cam. To be completely honest a good friend on here, who's dissappeared for some reason, told me to do it and run 93 gas and not to worry. He must have done it or wouldn't advise me to. That kind of guy, no guessing. @240260280 where are you? We (me) miss your knowledgeable comments. To hell with the negative people.

  21. I read up on that before I got my 240. A thicker head gasket was the conclusion from what I remember. Read some of these from a google search. https://www.google.com/search?q=n42+head+with+flat+tops+head+gasket+classiczcars.com+&client=ms-android-americamovil-us-revc&source=android-home&source=hp&ei=3-8vYZ7FCK-WwbkPytyqmAY&oq=n42+head+with+flat+tops+head+gasket+classiczcars.com+&gs_lcp=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_F1iwkgRgsJwEaBNwAHgAgAHGAogB6EqSAQgwLjU5LjQuMZgBAKABAbABHg&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-hp
  22. I hear ya' on the chart. What got me doing it was 2 at a time come up so the chart cuts my time in half. Great when it's hot.

I bought mine at Lowe's in the plumbing department. Just a few dollars if I remember right. I can't say 100% but it seems like it's a 2" cap. Tight going on but it's rubber and stretched to fit.
  24. What paint gun are you using? I used a cheap Harbor freight gravity hvlp cup gun. $15 and it's purple. Works great, used it many times but was mostly impressed with touching up the engine bay on my '77. You can dial that thing down to spray a dime sized circle. Some cardboard and tape for paint shields and I didn't have to remove much. Turned out good to my eyes without a lot of effort.
