  1. I run BP6ES in both my Zs with wider gap for the ZX dizzy in the 240. I did a lot of reading way back when and the general consensous from the other members were the 5s weren't much different with the newer gas we have now. I think the plugs he has are available in-store but the BP6ES is an overnight thing around here anyway.
  2. Looks like car models they'll work on, not signatures in my opinion.
  3. Have you cleaned the cold temp sensor in the thermostat housing then the bullet connections about a foot back in the wiring? Your choice of the word "bucking" got my attention as that the exact way I described my '77s rough running up to 2,500 rpm then it ran good with good pull. Here's the "fix" but look through and you'll see the bullet connections, make sure they're clean and tight. The plastic connector to the thermo housing should be clean and tight. Last but not least take the brass sensor out and shine it up with some sandpaper or steel wool. https://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/tempsensorpot/index.html

Your social studies teacher told you. He must've had aids and drank from the fountain.
  5. Take the thicker gasket off when you go to the high lift cam. To be completely honest a good friend on here, who's dissappeared for some reason, told me to do it and run 93 gas and not to worry. He must have done it or wouldn't advise me to. That kind of guy, no guessing. @240260280 where are you? We (me) miss your knowledgeable comments. To hell with the negative people.

  7. I read up on that before I got my 240. A thicker head gasket was the conclusion from what I remember. Read some of these from a google search. https://www.google.com/search?q=n42+head+with+flat+tops+head+gasket+classiczcars.com+&client=ms-android-americamovil-us-revc&source=android-home&source=hp&ei=3-8vYZ7FCK-WwbkPytyqmAY&oq=n42+head+with+flat+tops+head+gasket+classiczcars.com+&gs_lcp=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_F1iwkgRgsJwEaBNwAHgAgAHGAogB6EqSAQgwLjU5LjQuMZgBAKABAbABHg&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-hp
  8. I hear ya' on the chart. What got me doing it was 2 at a time come up so the chart cuts my time in half. Great when it's hot.

I bought mine at Lowe's in the plumbing department. Just a few dollars if I remember right. I can't say 100% but it seems like it's a 2" cap. Tight going on but it's rubber and stretched to fit.
  10. What paint gun are you using? I used a cheap Harbor freight gravity hvlp cup gun. $15 and it's purple. Works great, used it many times but was mostly impressed with touching up the engine bay on my '77. You can dial that thing down to spray a dime sized circle. Some cardboard and tape for paint shields and I didn't have to remove much. Turned out good to my eyes without a lot of effort.
  11. His parents allowed that and he's made money off of it over the years. The Former Baby From Nirvana’s Famous Album Cover Was Motivated to Sue After the Band Blew Off His Art Show Spencer Elden, now a painter, alleges that the band exploited him as a minor.
  12. You can put a cheater in that hole at the end of that spanner, useful sometimes. FYI
  13. I'm closer to 4 ugga duggas. To puny for 7.
  14. I'll add to the other comment on accesability to the plugs with the impact gun. It'd be tough to get in there with a good seating. Maybe if you used an extension you could access the drain and you're right about removal only. Good luck with whatever you decide. Cliff
  15. Just make sure the food you bring will fit in a microwave. I have plenty of room for the beer. If needed I'll throw all the fridge crap in the trash to fit more.
  16. You're right Charles. It's not oil blow by. Once again I bow out with Mr Panama.
  17. I wouldn't but a 1/2" drive would work. I'm old fashioned and my manual torque is what I go by. An impact gun could damage something before you realize it. My $.02.
  18. I used a 24" x 1/2" breaker on my drain plug. I put a small bottle jack under the handle to loosen it. I swear it lifted the car off the jacks before it broke loose.
  19. What else would he say? Those rings have to be staggerd. The oil control ring is a worm ring that has a top and bottom solid ring also. Have you had this problem all along or just recently?
  20. Hokes Bluff junkyard has at least 2 MNs. You drive down 411 and they're 15 or 20 minutes off your route. You could leave them at my house at pick them up on your way back. I probably would have something for your back too.
  21. California Datsun motor, that's the problem and most likely Jorge has had this problem since day 1. My opinion from all I've read over 10 plus years about California Datsun. He sold a motor to a dude in Panama. No chance of any blowback. No shudder here Mr Maras.
  22. I've got a year to decide but I'm pretty sure my '77 will be for sale at zcon 2022. I want my garage work space back!
  23. You're the one with sunglasses, right? I've seen CO. He's the bearded fellow. Hell, I've ridden around Road Atlanta with you. I know C.O is the handsome bear behind you.
