Sudden engine shutoff
Old stand by question for everything but how do the plugs look? Is it no spark or no fuel?

He's been sweating Betty!- Sudden engine shutoff
BCDD is what I'm leaning to. Does the tach get erratic during these episodes?- COVID-19
I didn't see America/ USA on any levels? Did I miss it or are we cured?- 1970 HLS30-06521 Re-Restoration

I bet that makes you feel better. The honor system? Oxymoron like model prisoner.- My hood opens without even a bump
Mine popped open once and I jumped out to shut it without pulling the cable and releasing it completely. I shut the hood on my fingers and was held hostage. Couldn't move enough to pull the handle in the cabin. Stuck in a parking lot locked down by the hood. I had to start yelling for help, I was trapped and it was hurting. Luckily a nice guy came over and pulled the handle, setting me free. I'm super careful about that now because I often drive around with the hood latched but not shut completely. Just another day in my life.- Gauge lights not working, only some.. not all...
I was on my phone but now that I'm on the laptop with all my pictures I can see the headlight and parking light solder spots and wires from a long time ago. Thanks for the push.- Gauge lights not working, only some.. not all...
Mine went out and I had to flip the 2 plates over in the combo switch. Years of off/on contact had burnt those plates. Turn them over and they're like new. Rebuild_240Z_combo_switch-1.pdf- What is the best carpet kit for my 1976 280z
Rockauto has ACC kits like just about everyone else so I'd guess they are the best simply by how many are selling them. If you go to rockauto.com you'll find the kit numbers from ACC. Google that but you won't find a better deal by a major supplier. I'd see if MSA has the same number too. Most likely...- SS Bumpers from Vietnam
And you have an awesome car! I couldn't remember if you switched to the 240 bumpers so I did an image search and your original bumpers look fantastic with the color scheme you came up with plus the way better protection in case of an accidental bump from the rear. I love your car! You set the bar way over my head.- COVID-19
I remember in elementary school we got vaccinated. No choice. The military does it too. The insurance companies should deny payment if you get covid but would not get the vaccine. It's available to anyone now, free too.- SS Bumpers from Vietnam
I use led in my dome lights, all others are incandescent. I seldom drive at night so it's really a nothing burger for me. Dr 240 showed my or I read it truthfully how to polish the exterior lenses to look like new. They were a dull red now they look new. No melting either!- ignition timing question
No detonation at full advance and it runs good? Run it! My 240 is maxed out advance and I even put the chain on #3 hole when I rebuilt the motor. It runs great and loves advance.- SS Bumpers from Vietnam
Ferg, here's a good read if you're refurbing lights. It's a 240 but some good info in there thanks to @Dr. 240Z- Another Z to see the roads again...
I was able to do mine as the hole assembly. I have an older set of triple beams that I put a railroad spike on and that let me do the cups and rods, caps. Without that added railroad spike it maxed out the triple beams. To get weight off I ground on the outer sides of the rods. Got them all to weigh the same amount of grams. Seems like it was in the 700s maybe? That's almost 2 lbs each. 448 grams per pound.- Z's on BAT and other places collection
I think of a survivor as one that's not been wrecked that has original paint, glass and interior. Rebuilt original motor passes too. That's just maintenance like tires and oil changes. My opinion only.- Wanted: Plastic Coke Lever Handle…72
I apologize if I'm repeating myself but these are a great upgrade. They'll take any looseness out of the original setup and by doing that you have less chance of breaking the choke handle. https://zcardepot.com/products/choke-lever-mounting-plate-reinforcement-240z- What is your most valuable 'made-it-myself' tool?
That's like the difference between fitting and proper.- SS Bumpers from Vietnam
The surprised one in back. Some cute girl walked by taking pictures and those two shot her the bird screaming obscenities really loud. Embarrassed me. The one on the right is dead, OD'd, the other one is a falling down stumbling drunkard now. Liver's shot.- Another Z with starting issues
It's hot out and I'm bored. Scary situation. Did you ever see if it's the front 3 cylinders or the rears that are rough? The front carb runs 1-3, rear 4-6. You may be running on 3 cylinders? The front carb has that vacuum advance nipple that needs to be hooked up or capped off. 3 day weekend boredom. Goodluck with it, I'm sure it's something simple. - saturday night music thread
