  1. I like white silicone spray. Seems to last longer than something like wd-40. That "worms" one way and I can't remember exactly which end to start with. Somebody will tell us. Seems like the gauge down to the transmission but not positive. You could lube the easy access end of the tranny and use a air compressor gun to push it through.

I use this and think most people do too. Manual transmission. https://www.amazon.com/Red-Line-50304-Transmission-Transaxle/dp/B000CPCBEQ/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=redline+mt90&qid=1623436601&sr=8-1 Some instructions while you wait on delivery to read over. Thanks @240260280 https://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/mtl/index.html

    Or seize their private communications.
  4. You could bench clean them by running Seafoam through them or carb cleaner. I found fj707t were the cheapest new ones when I replaced mine. Fastwoman used some cheap green ones on ebay. FJ3s I think? The refurbished ones are cheaper too, they're all over the internet. I think you just need to make sure they have the top hose already attached, not those that have a coupled on hose from the Toyota supra they try and sale as Datsuns. Good luck with your sale once you get to that. Cliff
  5. This may help in some way. It's from the ZX dizzy swap but shows the ballast resistor you eventually remove. From Blues Tech Tips. https://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/distributor/index.html Next step is to see which of the two back w blue striped wires to the center ballast connector "R" is NOT +12V. Disconnect both and turn key over to "start" while checking voltage on each. The one without the voltage goes to a capacitor (aka condenser). Mark the other one with +12V with red tape.

I would. They're only about $10 for a Timken. Chain parts store have them or can overnight if not on the shelf. Seems like I bought mine from Advance or O'Reilly's. Could've been a National seal? One or the other.
  7. Didn't we have a joke of the day thread or similar years ago? I'm losing my mind is the joke for today but I heard a funny Rodney Dangerfield one too. "I woke up and looked in the mirror and told my wife, oh my wife what a catch, that I had wrinkles and was losing my hair. I asked my wife, what a great wife, for a compliment. I needed one. She says you still have good eyes."
  8. Here's a great thread that I just found that hits on your situation. Read it.
  9. This shows the blue the first from the left and black/white the second. From Blue's Tech Tip bible of facts.

  12. There should also be a ground wire on the bottom bolt hole of the distributor's pedistal. They're on my cars.
  13. A bit repetitive? re·gur·gi·tate /rəˈɡərjəˌtāt/ repeat (information) without analyzing or comprehending it Sorry Shawn, I'm bored. It's pouring rain here.

I like Popeye's spicy. Glad you got it after 40 years. That's amazing! I would never been able to find it.
  15. Could one of the small glass fuses under the radio have blown when the starter link failed. I'm pretty sure there's one for ignition.

I have a '72 manual and use a trigger type remote starter from Autozone. I connect the 2 clips on the starter. One on the positive terminal from the battery and the other on the spade connector on the solenoid after pulling the female side off. Small wire on solenoid.
  17. Wow, that is a good number. Maybe the Hagerty article had something to do with it? Thanks Mr Beck.
  18. Can you bend the whole bracket down anymore, the pin holder?
  19. You have a 240/260 pedistal and a 280 distributor. I wonder is that compatible components? Here's what you have. Heres a 280 distributor . The timing plate and pedestal are different.
  20. I got a fake ID that says I'm 3 years older, 18 to 21, from the late 80s. Is that acceptable? If so that would put me at the right age to be a GeeZer.
  21. The way the cap is made it will only fit one way and snap down. If your's doesn't have the marker line no problem. The cap fits down 1 way. only. You can not fix this by moving the cap around, it will not snap into place. You need to listen to what every bodies telling you. You came here for help, we're trying but you don't seem to understand that. No short cuts.
  22. Run both on rear tops. I've got some Grose valves I will send you thanks of our hero @240260280 I'm keeping the new ones, you can have the used ones.
  23. There's my smarter guy!
