It had nothing on the gauge at idle but it would come up with the RPMs. I got an N42 with internal oiling cam installed just about as soon as I got the car. The motor was needing a rebuild of everything so I got started on that pretty quick. I have one of those "change over" 280s. That odd N47 head and the sloped up rear deck. Oh yeah, I have the stuff to put together an E31 with a cut Nissan internal oiling cam and I'll use a spray bar. From all I read as long as I use a turbo pump it will be fine. The race guys did that back in the days. I run the turbo Melling pump on both my Zs now anyway. One has a spray bar and the other an oiling cam. The 240 with the spray bar pegs the oil pressure gauge when I'm driving. The 280 with the oiling cam just has good pressure.

My 9/76 had an OE N47 with a spray bar and internal oiling cam. Looks like has an N42?

If the valves were out of whack, some too tight, some too loose, you'll get some shiny (too tight) some darker (too loose) cam lobes plus the spray bar having uneven oiling.
  5. Pan in the arse for mr. Berk.
  6. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1990-nissan-300zx-twin-turbo-56/ $500,000.00 now, ends in 2 hours.

Kind of like a girlfriend, no? Take you down then slowly bring you back to good. I won't get a haircut until she makes me.

My timing light lets me set at the full advance, 34 I think is wherei have it, then I run it up to 3,000 and the timing goes to zero. Can't esplain it though. I do what the voices on my classiczcars.com tell me.
  10. Ah, so the SUs pulled ahead a 1/4 a second. I assumed it was Guy's quick mind ove Eiji's? Power beats the lights. I can't figure how to watch the video! Old arse laptop only plays sound.

That's what monroe's book suggest, twist the pump a half a bolt hole to get it to set in perfect. Great job!

Says Johnson Controls sold to Clarios LLC in 2019 when Sears went down. When I googled who makes Schumacher chargers it says Schumacher Electric. https://www.batterychargers.com/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DieHard_(brand) I can't find anything saying for sure but who knows? Warren Buffet owns everything anyway.
  16. That's reaction time from the winner!
  17. Check this out. LED strips on the rafters, low voltage but super bright. I'll try it someday but for now I have four 4ft led hanging lights with a pull cord on/off. https://www.instructables.com/Inexpensive-Garage-Lights-From-LED-Strips/

For me to do the coolant temp tweak my car ran like crap up to 2,500 rpm then ran good. It would buck and spit and sputter starting off then when I got it over 2,500 it did good with that much load I guess? A trained Nissan guy from the 80s I know worked on it but couldn't figure it out. He didn't know about the coolant temp tweak but he did clamp off the return line coming off the FPR and said it ran much better. Talked about a rising rate pressure regulator, $200. I started reading on here and found Blue's Tech Tip. Went to Radio Shack when they still existed and bought a volume knob for $5. Installed it like Blue showed and bam! new car. Still have that volume knob in the passenger's floor board. It's fun playing with as I drive down the interstate. I can control the engine's temp gauge, get it lean and improve the MPGs or flood it out and stall the car. Try clamping off the return line. Not completely just almost.
  19. Maybe not. and could be or? What are the risks of going the easy way and remove the complete head cylinder instead?
  20. I heard the race but didn't see it. I'm guessing you won. I love my SUs too.

They all say "digital chargers" now? When I worked with my Dad hauling cars back and forth to the big auctions we always had to use a jump box to hook up temporarily to get the car out and on the trailer. Then he had one of those big boys that roll around, Die Hard. $149 at amazon.com. good reviews too. https://www.amazon.com/DieHard-71331-Battery-Charger-Maintainer/dp/B07775RGNM/ref=asc_df_B07775RGNM/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=316747946823&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4903338090546529506&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9012727&hvtargid=pla-588454711373&psc=1 Here's the jump box same story as above, good. https://www.amazon.com/STANLEY-J5C09-Jump-Starter-Compressor/dp/B002X6VXL4/ref=sr_1_5?_encoding=UTF8&c=ts&dchild=1&keywords=Jump+Starters+%26+Battery+Chargers&qid=1621347330&s=automotive&sr=1-5&ts_id=387679011

Do not think about coincidences, they happen in dreams only. Something you did caused your problem. Is the small wire firm on the starter's solenoid? Pull the fuel hose before the rail and see what kind of amont your geeting. I've never heard of an air/fuel lock problem on Zs but maybe you created one.
  24. I put these in my rental house after I went up on the breaker amps. Work great. Microwave and all kinds of other crap ladies use on the countertops. I think there's 8 per strip. Like a big ole surge protecter from Lowes. $20?
  25. I won't even put stickers on my cars for that reason. The Zs are well known around town but that Camry and my D21 pickup are getaway cars.
