Is this Ms. Et14k now? That's a great story.
  2. Thanks Brother! Amazingly it's going around me so far. Kinda scared to go to sleep without my helment on. Freaks my dog out too. I'll self medicate, maybe give the dog a couple of tall boys. Know your safe place!
  3. If I'm lucky my old self gets a moment, no more but that's all I need. "If you ain't first you're last" to sleep.
  4. Sorry. I jumped the gun with a quick google search. My man Jim has the right info it looks like. I check in all out through the day with my phone. That's good and bad. I'm thankful these guys cover my arse.
  5. Uh my crack is straight up and down. My hair is curly.
  6. Also looks like some coolant maybe leaking? As @Racer X says check the head bolts and go find a 4 leaf clover today.
  7. I didn't think of that! I was going to go waaaay worse and say maybe the head gasket. A picture would be nice. 😊
  8. Uh dumb question but how does oil come from the header? Is it soot maybe? not motor oil?
  9. Looking at my picture I can see the middle vane is twisted a little. Wonder if that's what he did for some reason?
  10. We have some bad weather coming in the next few days but maybe this weekend I could hook up my timing light that shows RPMs and tell you something then.
  11. I bet that's why my guy bent the vanes with his fingers.

I am always curious and touching things I regret later. That copper line from the compressor to the holding tank was one of them. It was very hot. When I was 15 a friend's Dad bought one of those turbo Regals. He was showing us the turbo and I reached over and grabbed that stainless braided hose and sported that burned in pattern for months on my hand. Still do that kind of dumb stuff today.

Ah, I get it now. Straight out of the piston pump to the condenser then back to the tank. I've got one moisture trap like your's after the psi regulator and a smaller one I use right onto to tool. Also a open/close valve and about a 6" piece of brass attached to that to reach a plastic coffee container that I bleed it into pretty often. My first dummy question; does the condenser need anything to activate it's cooling? Or just freon and the blower fan pushing air through it? Thank you Chris. I appreciate your ideas and pay attention to all your post. "See one, do one and teach one".
  14. Still has that front spoiler. Quick thinking is your strength Superman.

Post #8 has what I went by on my '77. I adjusted according to that then went to my mechainic and he bent the vanes by hand. Made me mad at first but it runs great. That has been my biggest lesson on the efi cars. There's a lot of small BS parts that aren't that important. Guys that know the cars since the '70s know all the tricks.
  16. Yes, I realize I should have stated that in my original post. $15, 000 would be fair if it's in good shape. From briefly reading earlier, that seems to be one of the rarest Zs there is. I've never seen one other than on the internet. Best of luck.

For only occasional use what about a copper coil in a bucket of ice?

You can pipe that in the outgoing line from the compressor? In through the condenser and then out to your tool? Never seen that before but what a great idea. I've struggled with moisture in my line for years. Mainly sandblasting.
  19. Here's one that sold last year for $70,000. Only 11 miles on the clock though. https://www.facebook.com/SoCMATADOR/posts/10156999839761576 I'd guess around $30,000 if it's nice.
  20. Hood shut. Panty drop! Awesome car you have.
  21. I had some pitted hardlines under the battery tray once that I replaced with rubber hose. Not original but worked out great. Have you determined what carbs you have? Are they 3 screws or 4. Here's a good identification website. ztherapy.com You need to determine if the nozzles move up and down freely. The connection hoses from the carbs to the float chambers are critical for proper operation. Many times have people used stiff fuel hose for this, no good, they bind the movement.
  22. Yes! What he said. I would have thrown in the "shop rag" years ago if it weren't for these nice, helpful folks. No attitudes here just people wanting to help solve problems. Amazing group of people!
  23. Not trying to pile on but that connector sent my mind to a/c. Who'd a thunk it? I have a '77 with factory air conditioning.
