  1. I remember Fastwoman bought a fuel one way check valve from "sam the diesel man" on ebay. Many years ago but you might find him still. Good luck.
  2. I always use full choke on the first crank and let it run until it starts to stumble. This fills my filter everytime. Have you checked float chamber height lately? Before my filter was always filling, never full. Adjusted the floats and now it fills completely up within a few seconds. This is observed at idle of course. Glad you found a good pump! I run a cheapo GMB too without issue.

I've seen that before too. But I'll be damned if I can find it again, I've tried for 10 minutes. Seems like it was a Z from Arizona? Maybe that's just my brain associating that Southwestern Aztec look?

Appearance, showmanship, pageantry or whatever like our POTUS detracts from real work. My opinion and I get one too.
  5. Definitely Australian. I watched more and he has one at the Sydney Boat Show. In that video you can see his beer belly so I'm going with the 25 year old version, maybe older. He is funny! Thanks again Zed Head.
  6. Shade tree work around, clamp on the return fuel line to the tank builds higher pressure. This for testing only. Not a fix. Those pumps are $250 if you can find one. Bosch no longer makes them but Beck Arnley does, same pump to.
  7. This is Mr Irwins page. Wiper motor info is about mid page. Good luck! EDIT, bottom of the page. https://www.datsun-240z-upgrades.net/products/
  8. I have no idea Mr Arnett but what I read says '92 and up???? The Honda Wiper Motor Upgrade Adapter Harness is $25 shipped Using the 92' and up Honda accord wiper motor (or the 95' Civic -pre-notched shaft) in your 70' to 72' 240Z? This harness allows for the new motor to park correctly. The harness comes with the 6-pin connector that connects to the stock 6-pin connector on the firewall. It also comes with butt-connectors on the other end to connect to the Honda wiper motor wires. '93 Accord from rockauto. Are these the bolt holes?
  9. I've done a lot of work on my '72 in the past few years. I have tons of Nissan p/n in my build file if you need any. Another way for me was to go to http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsun/Z-1969-1978 find the p/n and call my local dealership parts department and tell them the part number. They can look it up and see if it's available. Like Terrapin Z says I was surprised at the parts still available from Nissan for our cars. I'm having a hard time getting used to the single space between sentences they say use now. Old habit, but it never made sense to me anyway.
  10. Seal the chicken and I don't mean put a frickin walrus in there! Thanks for the laugh Zed Head. I really need some.
  11. I bought the Moogs too. They were L and R marked on the box I guess but somewhere. Remember the passenger;s side is normal threadeded, driver's side is left handed.
  12. Plugs are cheap but you may want to address those other problems before wasting the few dollars. To answer your question ngk bp6es is what's stock or the most used for stock motors.

I'm a plan guy. Always have one or two at least. These people in control do not. It's very tough on us. I'm not dealing very well with the uncertainty, deceit fulness that I read/hear daily. I don't think we can take the yo yoing much longer. Somebody needs to stand up and be consistent with a plan. The potus wants to reopen schools for a month. Why?
  14. No it's stock L28 except for port matching which was a significant increase in air/fuel flow. I added a potentiometer for more fuel to compensate for more air flow. It ran lean and bucked like crazy until 2,500 rpm. Now it pulls like a tractor.
  15. I have the 6to1 ceramic header and 2.5" performance exhaust from MSA on my 240 and 280. I really like the sound and the ceramic header does a fantastic job lowering the under hood temp. 240 sounds great with no resonator at all speeds. 280 had to have a 20" resonator installed at local exhaust shop, generic one they had on hand. Charged about $50 IIRC. It had a horrible drone sound on the interstate and was god awful loud pulling hills around town. I can only guess the bigger 2.8 was the cause of the drone sound, everything else was the exact same as the 2.4. I was thinkinging MSA had reducing adapters for smaller diameter exhaust?

I agree with Zed Head. That mechanic don't know or confused what he's heard which is the 260 carbs are boat anchors. The short block and head are good to go. Find another Z specific shop or a good VW mechanic, they ran those carbs too.

Unfortunately my dog's food ran out so I had to go to Walmart this morning. Workers there, 10% were wearing mask, about twice that had them pulled down so they could talk to each other. All young people. I've convinced myself, so as not to go postal on the idiots, they've never had the flu. I have and it's life changing wishing I was dead instead. I think mask should be like seatbelts during this, mandatory with no excuses. I bought two 40lb bags instead of one. Hope the dog doesn't get killed.
  19. I think the body would be easiest for that trick.
  20. These work good on the bigger lines. Oil based fine point sharpie, silver and white. Heater panel, radio and the console, horn pad etc. Thanks for that tip @psdenno
  21. If you still have that panel off and haven't already done it, take your air gun and blow out the drain. I bet yours is stopped up. When it's open you can feel and hear air blowing out above the passenger's front tire. Looks good!
  22. My cruddy tank would let me drive about a mile before clogging up the fram g2 I had right out of the tank. Took the front hose off at input of that filter. Blew like crazy with my mouth until it was gurgling in the tank then I could get back home, barely.
  23. These are what Zed's talking about.
  24. This is the cheapest and easiest way to get a close level of the float chambers. $2 worth of clear hose from Lowes. The red arrow in this pic. The fuel in the hose should be even with the top of that rectangular boss on the side of the carb.

Sort of but a bit fuzzy from all the "flights". There's only a few ways of thinking when it comes to the Q in my opinion. Pulled or chopped, white sauce or red and low and slow vs over an open flame. Honestly I was thinking it was two guys at the table with that girl? Do tell, I'm curious now. My steel trap didn't hold that conversation too well.
