  1. I'd rather have the '73 vs the low mile '77 for the same money. His prancing pony friends might have something to do with the odd prices?

Mine needs choke like I need coffee.
  3. I guessed close though before the flaws were brought out. Add the fees and delivery charge $175 sounds good. I like what Hs30-h said about being original. I slept good last night knowing what I have.

My 69,000 something vin # '72 bumperettes location as I viewed the OE bumpers. Rear is in my storage building front is on my 280. Anyhow the rear hole was one and 3/4" center to center... Front was 20" from the edge of the side of the bumper to the center of the bumperette hole. Hope this helps, kinda half arse but it's another feather in the hat.
  5. There's an old business in Anniston Alabama that has them. It's AAC I think, you can google it. They sale on Ebay a lot cheaper. Go to AAC website and find your kit's part number then google that. You'll see most all carpet kits come from them. Good luck.
  6. Here's to the 1st of the day fellas...
  7. You're close to Jackson Pollack big money skills. The Z window chrome would make a good frame.
  8. Here's the first one I did.
  9. I'm going to have that framed! I have an older Porsche big book a girl gave me as a present and I've taken the pages out and framed them. I'm going for a wall of auto pictures.
  10. That is a good read from Hagerty. I learned something new today. I've never noticed the dot on the heads of screws but found it interesting and then I saw this picture that @HS30-H posted and was perplexed (as usual) by the dots in his photo. There's one with a single dot, the others have two. I'd like to learn more. Hopefully someone knows the story better? Thanks anybody that might share some information with me/us. Cliff
  11. Just saw something new to me on google feed, Super Samuri. https://silodrome.com/datsun-240z-super-samuri-car/
  12. I have 4" Pyles I bought at Walmart that fit perfect in place of the OEs in the rear sides of my '77. They were cheap but sound decent and have big magnets. Mine are yellow but apparently they've gone to blue now. Here's mine... https://pyleusa.com/products/plg4-2 Pretty neat pods here in a '76. Read post #13
  13. I believe this is the thread that helped me when I was reinstalling the OE radio. There were some unused plugs that I couldn't figure out and I think one was blue? Hope it may help you someway.
  14. The deer or your car flipped down the creek? That sucks either which one. I'm not a deer hunter but after a guy I knew had one jump out in front of him on his motorcycle and killed him (the guy) I say shoot away at those rascals, legally. Sorry Mr & Mrs Maras. They are beautiful creatures when they've got space. 🤔

I agree with Diseazd, looks like an e88. Square exhaust, round chambers. But the cast code will be definite like Zed says.
  16. I apologize if I've posted this already but I can't get this song out of my head. This guy is amazing.
  17. rockauto.com shows standard 280 bearings, Sealed Power for the crank $66. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/nissan,1975,280z,2.8l+l6,1209204,engine,crankshaft+main+bearing,5220 Out of stock on the rods.
  18. Try calling some local machine shops. The older the business the better.

I like the Slots too but they're a pain to get clean and looking good but you are not hesitate to do the work. I like the Libres as they aren't shiny in gray or matte black. Decisions, decisions I agree.

    Here's a '75 replace thread from @SoCalJim This is @Travel'n Man's thread on the fumes/smell. He has a 240. The whole google.com search... https://www.google.com/search?q=280z+vent+hose+removal+classiczcars.com&rlz=1C1BOFA_enUS494US494&sxsrf=ALiCzsbephACSOLmhZkrhAbR85UYTWH6rw%3A1669149669613&ei=5TN9Y-WIJbO1qtsPkd-_uAQ&ved=0ahUKEwilj4mJ08L7AhWzmmoFHZHvD0cQ4dUDCBA&uact=5&oq=280z+vent+hose+removal+classiczcars.com&gs_lcp=Cgxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAQAzIHCAAQHhCiBDIHCAAQHhCiBDIFCAAQogQyBwgAEB4QogQyBQgAEKIEOggIABCiBBCwAzoKCAAQHhCiBBCwA0oECEEYAUoECEYYAFCtBljNDWCAGmgBcAB4AIABhgGIAf0GkgEDMi42mAEAoAEByAEFwAEB&sclient=gws-wiz-serp
  21. The n42 was first then n47 for the 280zs. The p79 was on zxs. They're efi heads. If you could find an mn47 off the 84 maxima they'd be efi friendly plus small combustion chambers for better compression. Good luck, hope you find something.
  22. E88 is carb head, are you going with carbs or efi?
