  1. If you don't have a pressure washer take it to a spray car wash, one with hot water. You knew that I know but that's just me being me.
  2. I learned that pulling my race boat to Kentucky one weekend. Dulled the gel coat along the lines. Not too much trouble, just had to get it buffed out. $200? and it was good again.
  3. Cheap foam oven cleaner from Walmart and a high pressure blast cleaned mine up really good. I left it aluminum though.
  4. No emoji for loss of a loved one. Keep up the love for Project Georgia.
  5. Ran up the odometer a little today, the weather here is perfect, but not before doing something really stupid. I was in a rush to change the oil this morning and forgot it was in neutral. Went to jack the center flat on the crossmember. Got it pretty high and CU-THUNK. The cup on the jack came off and up between the pan and the torsion bar. Put a little dent in the front of the pan but didn't puncture it so all is well except I'm pissed at myself. "Could've been worse" is my go to now.

That is odd. My Nissan 180F thermostat opens and circulates at 175. 176 sitting in my garage only flowing an OE zx fan and shroud. No road driving flow.
  7. He's got a Z divining rod. I used to have one too, in my pants. Too much trouble now...

I can add more fuel with my potentiometer and the temp comes down quite a bit. Lean it out and it runs warmer. Just an fyi post.

This is how I figured mine out. It's easy once you wrap your head around the basic functions. Good luck!

You'd be better off using clear hose. That Great Stuff straw was a bitch wiggle and twisting around the float. I think the gas softened it up after a bit.
  11. I think you'd rub into yourself before you rub into to her, eh?

I figured out a quick fuel bowl test not long ago. Common sense but I'm a little slow. IF you can find a clear straw that will fit down inside the overflow bung on top you can stick it down and put your finger on the top end holding the level in place. Compare the fuel in the straw from the bottom to the top of the rectangular boss on the float bowl to see how close you are. I used a straw off a can of Quick Stuff foam insulation BTW. It's thicker plastic than a coffee straw. Look at this picture to see where the fuel should be. Hope it helps. It's a quick way just to get an idea. There's a lot more precise ways and I personally use this method with the clear hose for a better "quick and dirty" carb adjustment.

My early n47 had both. I never saw them actually putting out oil but it had terrible oil pressure on the gauge so I thought they were both working. Never considered the spray bar was used for block off. 9/76 build date.
  14. I did pretty much all I do now, move my Battery Tenders around. Cars truck and mower. I'm buying a 3rd one maybe this week? but dog food and deodorant come 1st.
  15. I'm guessing this is it? https://jdm-car-parts.com/products/air-condition-equipped-decal-for-all-datsun-nissan-cars-in-late-60s-and-70s?variant=1769352757257 @kats @HS30-H could you help?

    Recline in your "incline 6"
  17. Me too Mr Arnett. I also put them on the rear bumper mounts closest to the rear tires and on my Xenon front spoiler above the front tires. Lowes has a good selection in their Hillman cabinets. I call them rubber fender washers? P.s: I like the chrome bumpers too. Looks more original and not like a kit add on. You have one of the sweetest Safari Gold cars I've seen. "One of" @Diseazd.
  18. Could this be "urgelus" from some old post we talked about? Same wolf different clothes?
  19. On first start up I would do what Tom Monroe's"How to rebuild" books says. Open the lower drain on the radiator and feed fresh water from a a hoe's pipe at about half of wide open and equalize that flow in and out for about 20 minutes. If you have a problem with internal engine stuff the water won't be as bad as antifreeze. Thats what I've done twice and it worked good for me. 20 minutes at 2,000RPM on a new rebuild. Whatever you're doing, it's a good flush out know matter what. If you don't have a drain plug loosen the bottom hose. Good luck.
  20. I run a larger 280 radiator on my 240 with a full shroud off a ZX. 180F tops, fyi. The gauges on these cars aren't very reassuring. Mine stay on the right leg of the M in TEMP. That 170F to 180F. I strongly beleive the 180F thermostat from Nissan is far and above the chain store thermostats you can buy. Stant, I think, is not even in the ballpark when it comes to quality compared to Nissan.
  21. Advertising switch and bait type thing. Like I said "lipstick on a head".
  22. I would bet that's Dykem blue layout dye on those chambers. Somebody is using that photo to fool an unfortunate not very mechanical desk jockey looking at bat.com.
  23. He must've read about California Datsun then folded. Who in the hell paints a high temp combustion chamber? I wonder if the head is actually on a car or more for advertising flash BS?
  24. I'm sure the mouse trap springs were polished as well. It cost a little more but I had my lash pads polished on the last rebuild I did. I think I read that in the Honsowetz book? That blue looks good in the picture by the way. I wonder if that is the actual head that was installed or more "trickery" from California Datsun? Lipstick on a head.
  25. These are from 1972 when the dealer installed spoilers were put on. They aren't very noticeable to anyone but me. These are where the DATSUN emblem was. I removed that spoiler when I had the car's single stage paint cut and buffed out. Then repainted them in satin black. The rear was a huge pain getting off and even worse reinstalling it, FYI.
