    You're right! Between 92 and 108 ft.lbs.

I hope he is! He deserves to after dealing with all of us anal retentive pricks.

I know you said you don't want to get on the cam but I've put vise grips on the rough section between the lobes with the straight arm of the grips against the driver's side of the head many times to torque mine. Never had anything but good results. 80 ft. lbs too.

We drop our baskets when not in use. That's a weird situation there. Nobody's in the basket, nobodies on the ground either. Strange but cool pics Ferg. Looks like a glass truck behind it?

I go with the esthetically of it.

I'll wager my 240 that he'll know. Whoa! He could say he doesn't and get my car? Not Phillip, he's too good a guy and I miss him.
  7. This isn't exactly topic related but it was painted in the early 80s and looked like a busted block wall with a new ZX inside. I saw this when I was a young teenager and it started my love for the style which from the front mimicked the 911s of the day. So simply put this started my Z interest. It looked great for a few years then then the neighborhood idiots started spraying all over it. The owner of Ed's Foriegn Car Parts kept it touched up and nice for a few years then just let it go. I went by there the other day and snapped this weak arse picture of my youth. They'll tear the building down soon but I've admired this since '83 maybe?

Looks fun! I've always heard the weight difference between the straight 6 and a V8 throws the handling off. V8's are good and fast in a straight line is what I've always been told. Some reading when you're not auto crossing... https://www.google.com/search?q=280z+with+a+v8+handling+fix&rlz=1C1BOFA_enUS494US494&oq=280z+with+a+v8+handling+fix&aqs=chrome..69i57j33i160.18681j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
  9. I'm not positive but I think the recline mechanism would not allow the seats to be switched from one side to the other. They fit so close to the transmission tunnel.

He's probably sick of doing it over and over. They're flooding his server, and probably everyone else's too, to slow it down or disrupt our little corner of the www.com. What's it called, DDS disruption of service I think?

A little redneck er I just cut the bottom spout off my funnel, it fits the hole and doesn't wobble with those 5 quart jugs. Cost, $0. Totally off topic but I just got a Chrome warning of data breaches at thezstore.com, hybridz and some other z related sites. An FYI comment I guess. See ya.
  12. Just curious. Everything else in my life has gone up except my paycheck.
  13. Here's the best one to me. I used it and it looks great. Post #11 from @CanTechZ I'm not sure if it's the same for 280s though. Maybe someone will tell us?
  14. Thanks Mark but unfortunately I can't take credit for that trick. I took the easiest route and put an extra rear lid I had and put it up front. @madkaw is the engineer that redrilled the ears. Mine are basically 3 screw 4 screws now.
  15. Yes, I have the 152 on my '77 too. I read about that upgrade at the very beginning. Also turbo head bolts are a reccomended update. I don't think you can buy any others now anyway, just turbos.

It's off a little I think. The front pulley key slot should be straight up. Like this your mechanical timing would be retarded? or PC correct, "slow" coming in. Edit: I just realized the motor is tilted pretty good so maybe it's right.
  17. Yes. You can use brass plugs to plug those extra holes for a cleaner look and less chance of the hose cracking and pulling in air.

The tight side is the one that doesn't need the tensioner. The crank pulls the chain down clockwise from the front so from the front of the car the tight side is the right or straight side.
  19. Missing a spinged screw but that flat is OE and has to be right or your rpms will shoot up to 2,000 on start up.
  20. You'll need a better Sawzall blade now too.
  21. I used the Melling 152 turbo manual transmission oil pump on mine. It stays on the high side of the gauge. Seems like it was $60 in 2016 from Advance Auto. Probably a $100 now. Found on google.com... non turbo L28 (75 to 83) model M90 = 2 gallons/minute at 491 rpm turbo L28 with automatic trans model M111 = 2 gallons/minute at 491 rpm turbo L28 with manual trans model M152 = 2.25 gallons/minute at 491 rpm
  22. Oh yeaaaah!
  23. Nothing but sweet music from the motor, sorry but this is insane. Residential ripping. He never hits "wide arse open" though. Find a track!
