  1. Here's the Aisin web-site's info on the WPN-013. Aisin Aftermarket Parts Catalog.
  2. Can't you pull the bottom hose off the metal fuel filter in the engine bay and put it in a jug? I think that's what I did. It's been a few years!
  3. I found that from a google/image search of the part number to see the impeller. $29.79 and 1 in stock at amazon.com, post #4. rockauto.com, $27.79, https://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carcode,1209169,parttype,2208
  4. I'm not too sure what that means but I believe it's cast? Here's a picture of the impeller, AISIN WPN-013 - Auto Parts Network
  5. A current girlfriend?
  6. Is it a hit and run evidence car? Like that girl in Texas that had a homeless guy stuck in her front windshield.
  7. Congratulations! Nothing worse than a good running car running out of gas.
  8. Unhook the fuel line from the top of an injector at the rail and put another short piece of hose on the rail, secure it in a jar or bottle or something. Crank it over and see what comes out. Sounds like a vent line or something is clogged up. Oh yeah! Could a fuel filter arrow be pointing the wrong way? I've done that before.
  9. That's amazing. I've been at just about the same type place (240s are gone) the past few weeks. It's been there forever, the owner died and now his kids want to sell the 75 acres of land to the county for a waste station. They have 280Zs and a couple of ZXs, all the good stuff is long gone. It's funny to see a 280 sitting on top of a van!
  10. I like the blacked out chrome, that car looks good!
  11. Aisin is a major Japanese supplier, for the water pump, Amazon.com: Aisin WPN-013 Engine Water Pump: Automotive. Check the other stuff you want, they should have everything.
  12. WRONG! It had the older tranny with the speedo cable bolt at 12 o'clock. But I did get some flat tops and another good F54 block. Bargin, buying something I didn't need at a price I couldn't resist.
  13. Backfiring out the tail pipe and sooty = RICH, not enough air. make sure the air filter and piping are clear and clean all your electrical grounds, http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/electricalconnections/index.html Backfiring out the Throttle Body = LEAN, too much air. Vacuum leak can be found by using the "yogurt cup test", put that in search box up top.
  14. He's driving Reeboks right now!
  15. If you can't find a Blue in your area read the last couple of chapters of that Tom Monroe book a couple of times. I built my first good solid motor by following his directions. The timing chain assembly, the distributor and oil pump drive spindle where the most nerve racking but turned out perfect.
  16. here's my last idea, the EFI power connection off the battery. http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/electricalconnections/index.html
  17. is the fuel line coming out of the metal fuel filter before the fuel rail hard when you pinch it, like is has pressure built up? Could be a clogged fuel filter.
  18. Make sure that connectors on the starter, small wire. I've run speaker wire from my battery straight to the fuel pump to test it, it's got a positive and a negative post.

I think it's a CA thing, not positive though, mine doesn't have it.

I took my key out when I was fooling with my combo switch, didn't want any surprises. You can turn your lights on since it wouldn't hurt anything but when you put 12 volts on that solder spot it's going to energize the dash lights regardless of anything else, you're bypassing the rocker function of the combo switch. You might start a new thread about help with the combo switch. SteveJ is very electrical minded.

Make sure your dimmer knob is turned fully clockwise. Mine is next to the trip reset knob, below the farthest left round dash vent. I got sparks too but also lights. Mine made a contact spark, like hooking jumper cables to the battery. You're putting 12 volts straight on the circuit so I'm thinking your dimmer is turned the wrong way.
  23. Wouldn't the bottom of the instrument panel be where the transmission bolts up to the engine? Climb under there and tighten some bolts maybe?
  24. Does it go away when you push in the clutch pedal while idling?
  25. That's a good point. Sound would be the easiest way to tell. With a new one, on start up it's a lot louder for the first few minutes. The fan noise definitely gets quieter after it warms up.
