Restoration of BringaTrailer 240z - HLS30-35883
I admit I haven't kept up with this thread, I read from the newest up. I've had great results with this stuff on aluminum and some steel too.

I played this and many others on an old Jam box. Usually while riding skateboards or running Cox cars. I'm old...

L28 opinion
Shipping might be costly from North Alabama but here's the whole car for $4,000. I know the turbo's use a specific ECU so make sure you get that when you do find one. Good luck. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/997590577430996/?ref=search&referral_code=undefined

Well it's a good thing they didn't need to put on a spare tire. My Dad always overnighted lug nuts for no reason. He over tightened everything now that I think about it. Maybe his way of "signing" his work?

Starting Carb Conversion: Flat Tops to Paltechs
I've got 2 msa gaskets hanging on a nail. In my opinion they're flimsy. When you get your's, compare it to the oe one from zcardepot and decide.

Call MSA for the best service. Those guys are super nice to talk to. Give them your czcc member ID for 10% off. Your's is 34425. I got it below on a screen grab.

Starting Carb Conversion: Flat Tops to Paltechs
Yes sir, yes it is, and I love it. Has a high rpm raspy sound on my 2.4 and a totally different sound on the 2.8. I had a 20" resonator installed on the 2.8. It had a horrible drone on the interstate but the 240 is perfect. Music to my ears. It reminds me of the motorcycles I used to ride. I'd describe it as screaming bloody murder to slow down.

Buying my first z! But need help with identifying some things in the engine.
If you have one an air compressor blow wand would be #2 after @gwri8 leaf blower suggestion. Now I want a Mudslide.

Starting Carb Conversion: Flat Tops to Paltechs
Metal to the header on mine. As an add on for my positioning it seems like there were some lines or some other imperfections on the head side. Therefore it needed the softness of the gasket. The header was nice and flat and once tightened down it created it's "seating" in the metal on the gasket. My 280 has a Felpro with a little tick of exhaust leak. I'll never use those again but that Nissan metal gasket is absolutely quiet. I like hearing the valve train clicking away.

Downsides to turbo oil pumps
My gauge pegged to the max side while driving. No problems though. From what I read that spring and ball bearing under the filter is a pressure release type thing so it opens up and dumps the excess to the pan. I use Melling 152 pumps on both cars. Got them local from advance auto. $60 each if I remember right.

Such a sad story. The man got clean and THEN died.

Hagerty Article on JIS Screw Heads
Yeah with a crowbar. We even have the Roberson head screws that color match pressure treated yellow wood. My deck is smooth, no bumps and all the same color.

Triple Webers Won't Start When Engine Is Hot
I had a set of 40s but sold them because I read too much. Here's some of the stuff I read. https://www.google.com/search?client=ms-android-americamovil-us-revc&ei=OGwgYPvzCK2g5wLT463wBw&q=webers+won't+start+whaen+hot+classiczcars.com&oq=webers+won't+start+whaen+hot+classiczcars.com&gs_lcp=ChNtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1zZXJwEAMyBAgeEApQz9MBWL_eAWDv7wFoAHAAeACAAdQBiAGxCJIBBTAuNi4xmAEAoAEBwAEB&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-serp#scso=_WGwgYJrrFIar5wKm87KYCg36:0

You keep it cold in your garage I see. My Dad did that so he'd get done sooner.

Just saying hello
Yes, welcome out of the shadows. Looks to be a nice straight ZX. Should clean up nice too. Plenty of help here so don't be shy, with pictures of your progress either. We love pictures.

These are pretty much the standard now around here for exterior screws. I thought it was something new.

'72 radio removal
I'm sorry for the short answer yesterday, I was using my phone. Yes you'll have to remove the heater control panel but not all the way, just get it it loose so you can wiggle the radio out. The slider knobs will have to come off but the actual cables can stay. Small flat head screw on bottom of the knobs. Then I remember laying in the driver's side floor to get to the other attaching screws, maybe the passenger's side too? The console has to come out and there is a wire to the choke lever you need to unfasten and it seems like there was another wire up close to the front maybe? Anyway it's a slow knuckle scratching ordeal but you can do it pretty easy just take your time. That old stuff just loves to break. I found the one that helped me... Here's another good fix while your at it, waiting on the snow to melt or whatever. The choke lever mount upgrade.

'72 radio removal
I had a hard time with my '72s reinstall. The PO had installed a cassette player and I wanted the OE back. Here's some threads that helped me. Good luck and it's not too hard there's just some things you won't know using common sense. https://www.google.com/search?client=ms-android-americamovil-us-revc&ei=afgeYPrEBMT25gLP_LjABA&q=240z+radio+removal+siteunseen+classiczcars.com+&oq=240z+radio+removal+siteunseen+classiczcars.com+&gs_lcp=ChNtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1zZXJwEAMyBwghEAoQoAEyBwghEAoQoAEyBwghEAoQoAEyBwghEAoQoAEyBwghEAoQoAEyBQghEKsCOgQIABBHOgYIABAWEB46BQghEKABOggIIRAWEB0QHjoECB4QClD0CViHT2CzWmgAcAF4AIABlAOIAc0VkgEJMC45LjMuMS4xmAEAoAEByAEIwAEB&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-serp

Z's only a mother could love thread
Oh boy! We're having a knock down drag out about Pilgrams Pride coming in an under table slicky slimy kind of way trying to put a rendering plant right next to our airport and wthin 3 schools and a bunch of rich families living out but still rather close proximity to the City. Major stink, literally and metaphorically for our small town. I don't want the birds flying around our airport from the dog food tendering plant that I fly out of quite often. All the folks living down there don't want the smell but the airport authority and city council have already done the underhanded deal in secrecy. They got caught. It's a huge deal in our small town presently. Churches and schools vs the City and money to be made. What a mess but I think it'll never be built. http://www.etowahchamber.org/rendering/
