HELP! Cars not charging after 3 alternators.
I did, it made no difference. Just ran an extra 4ga wire from the alt to the starter post and its sitting 14.4v on the battery. The battery gauge in the car reads below the middle, but I guess I just dont worry about it now.

HELP! Cars not charging after 3 alternators.
Thats just a picture I found online that I was going by. The cars a 10/70 build date. Ive got a zx internally regulated alt on it now. At the + post on the alternator its putting out ~16v. Could I just connect with a 8ga wire that to the starters + terminal which then connects to the 12v + from the battery?

HELP! Cars not charging after 3 alternators.
My car suddenly has stopped charging. I've put 2 new alternators in it and its still only reading 12.5v at the battery when on and 12.5v when off. I've followed all the walk throughs multiple times and its still not getting me any where. The car is a 1970 240z, whats tripping me up is my voltage reg. only has 5 wires going to it, not 6. Is that whats causing my issue? Using that picture my #5 connector is seeing like 16v and #4 is seeing right at ~11.9. My #1 wire on that diagram is MIA, the harness didnt even have a spade for it. Is that whats tripping me up?

Fuel pump set up for triple webers on 70 240z
Blue: Thanks for your help, found the little green wire up under the passenger side of the dash where the body harness and dash harness connect. Plan on running a 40 amp relay to that with its own dedicated power line off the battery. Also plan on using the air con circuit as its 12v on trigger. Seems the easiest for time being until I tear it all apart this winter. Datsun was really thinking running wires back there for a fuel pump that didnt exist at the time.

Fuel pump set up for triple webers on 70 240z
Why do I have to run an electronic fuel pump and then run a regulator to get the same output as my old mechanical fuel pump. When I pull out the mechanical pump, do I just use the L28 EFI plug that sat where the stock mechanical fuel pump would be? Do I want to put the electronic one by the fuel tank or will it matter? Will the filter go after the pump or before it? Do i need to get a different one aside from the OE style?

Going triples....
Any other little things I should be weary of? Do I use a return line?

Going triples....
picking up some triple webers this up coming weekend, but I've got a couple questions, first off what do I do with the coolant line for the carbs that runs behind the head? Also what about the line that connects to where the thermostat is? Do I use the stock choke cables and just add a third? Is there a walk through anywhere on here or elsewhere or instructions that shows you what your supposed to hook up where? It comes with everything, but just trying to read up before I get them.

My first Z!
God I love this car so much, I can see why you all like these things so darn much! I've been going pretty non-stop with it getting it to where I want it. I've sharpied the interior trim silver, put new emblems on the hatch with new vents and generally did some tidying up on the interior. At this point also EVERYTHING in the cooling system has been replaced and is 2011 brand new with regards to fan clutch, radiator, hoses, water pump, etc. Did some gauge rewiring and replaced a few light bulbs while I was at it that were burned out. Got a ton of stuff for free from a friend for it also, new door seals, entire engine seal kit, side skirts, a wing and skid plate thing for under the front (I think its a drip pan or something). Future plans are going to be triple carbs (for the sound alone) and prob a cam. Need to get seats redone on the driverside and order a carpet kit and it will be up to snuff.

Signs carbs are clogging up?
Whats a needle valve? I had the stock one for the car' date=' but I thought it was clogging up so i temp. bypassed it and ran w/o a filter. Im thinking the carb's filters caught it all, more specifically the rear carb. Ill try to take a pic tonight to show you of the spark plug. I dont think so on the choke stuff, like I said it only does this when its fuel filter is clogging up.

Signs carbs are clogging up?
It doesnt come out, pulled the air cleaner last night thinking maybe it was clogged, nothing. Both carbs are also sucking in equal amounts of air it felt. Ok will try that, was also advised there are little filters in the carbs where the metal fuel line feeds to the bowl, so I will clean those also. The car revs completly fine when the cars freshly turned off and on, its only after a load is applied that it starts falling on its face, I guess debris in the line would cause this?

Signs carbs are clogging up?
What are the signs the carbs are clogging up? Last night I was driving the car and it seemed like it lost almost all power and was running on 3 cylinders. The car had no power, could hardly rev and was constantly back firing. Pulled the plugs and the front 3 are half brown/half black and the back 3 are brown but were soaking wet. Would that indicate that the rear carb was stuck open? If you shut the car off it would be fine until you got on it while driving then it would suddenly run like total crap again. Any thoughts? Its got a pertronix on it now with a new coil, but it was running like a top all day then just suddenly started running like crap. Does it sound like the back carb's clogging up? Its done this before when it gets low on gas and the fuel filter gets clogged up, but I stuffed a new one on. Did have to drive w/o one for about 2 miles though as the car pooped its pants on the side of the road.

[2011] What did you do to/with your S30 today?
Spray painted back light panel. Ordered vents and supposedly the proper mounts for them, but the mounts were wrong, so waiting to put them on. Changed all heater lines under dash and put on new 3 way coolant adapter thing from nissan. At this point everything but that water line behinds the carbs are brand new in the cooling system. Prob will drop the gas tank this week Im thinking since the cars getting new suspension.

What are the top 20 early Z-car modifications considered to be "molestation"?
My 70 with 69,700 orig miles, 1 owner completely stock's prob a pretty good example of whats going to get molested shortly. Already pulled all smog crap off and boxed up, putting 15x9 0 offset this week on car and coilovers will be here friday for it aswell. Did stick an Ansa period correct muffler on it though. Nothing like a hammered Safari Gold car in the morning.

Yeah, I told myself if it didnt sell for 3 weeks I was keeping it and modding. Im honestly very happy it didnt sell. I have a blast with the car, even though it acts like a little baby from time to time.

My first Z!
Had it up forsale for 3 weeks. Told myself if no-one bought it mod time. Heres where were at as of this weekend: Have my front lip to put on. Going to buy an extra air cleaner to hack up to make little velocity stacks. Pulled all the a/c stuff and smog stuff off the car. Looking to grab some coilovers also for it today or tomorrow. Also rolled 69,700 miles this weekend. Im enjoying the hell out of it though!

Yeah Im noticing the little stuff is getting expensive quick. I guess replacing all the rubber lines though on a car would do that.
