How did you get the stickers Lachlan? I'm thinking of doing a Datsun-freeway order soon if you're interested..

I have a Sega game for X-Box that has a 240, 432R, ZG, KPGC Skyline etc etc. I can take pics if anyone really cares.:classic:
  5. I was looking at an early z the other day and noticed that it didn't have the rubber strip underneath the bonnet that runs in front of the radiator. Was this a design difference between early and late cars?
  6. I thought the most incredible part of your install was the fact that you'd paid for a copy of 2 Fast 2 Furious Nice work anyway:D

Considering that it costs about that to get an old one rechromed, I think I'll go the rechroming route. Also looks like it has a ding in it anyway. He also assumes that a 260z front bumper is the same as 240. Is this right?

I agree with your comment about the mags. Old car, new chrome mags looks kinda silly...although I reckon most of those rice-y mags looks crap on just about everything! I must admit that the rest of the interior looks pretty nice. Did you notice how he'd changed the centre console to include (I assume) the switches for the electric windows? It also goes to show that MX5 seats look pretty good in a z too.

It's a pretty nice car, eh? I'm still getting over what he's done to the dash though. I think the zed has one of the nicest modern dashes around, but that remodelling is pretty awful. It's obviously been done so he could "plug and play" with the dials, but it sure ain't for me..
  10. Two people typing at the same time :classic: If that's true - I'll be raiding my mates 1600 parts stash for some better handles, mine are stuffed!! Nice one HKSZ..
  11. what are you saying Bambi? :classic: The differences between 1600 handles and zed handles was pointed out to me by a "reputable" person associated with zeds in Melbourne some years ago. It was a long time ago, but I seem to remember that the length + rear mounts were different. I'm not saying they don't fit, it was just pointed out to me that they are different. Now maybe there were more than 1 type of 1600 (etc) handle? I'm sure not a 510 expert.. My call was to ask if anyone has actually done the swap, or is it just heresay based on the fact that the handles look similar? I've heard that 280zx radiators fit in 240's - but you have to file out the holes to get them in. The benefit is that the ZX has more cores and hence better cooling capacity.
  12. I've held them up next to each other. They are NOT the same. Has anyone actually used 1600 / 120Y / 180B handles, or has this just stemmed from the fact that they look externally similar?
  13. It was nice to see everyone on the cruise today. Whilst there wasn't exactly a HUGE turnout I hope people enjoyed it. Dazza, I wasn't aware that you were there despite the fact I drove behind you for nearly the whole time! I didn't put 2 and 2 together..:stupid: Love your car by the way.. ...and Moyest, why not some interior shots in your gallery? People can check out your custom leather, triple webbers etc! To those that didn't show, maybe next time?

Like someone from Vicroads would know it's a 2.8!! If you want the lower output of the 2, I'd go the 280C - asthmatic head, single carb.. blah blah blah.
  15. The pace will be cruisey (that last one was) and I'll have my camera again. One of the best parts is checking out the other cars before the whole thing gets going. I have to turn up in the 'rolla because the zed is still in Melbourne. Every time my Dad goes to start her she won't turn over so the movers can't get her on the truck. I went back to MElbourne last weekend to sort all the problems out with the little b*tch and she started first time!! Drove her round for a bit with no problems so asked my father to send her up for me this week. He put they key in on Wed and sure enough.. click click.. Nuthin'. Maybe she's trying to tell me something? It's actually get rather lonely without her..it's been nearly 9 months!!!
  16. C U on the cruise then. I'll be in the Corolla:cry: :stupid: :dead:
  17. That would be the one:classic: He parks it near JB HiFi every weekday. There were HEAPS of z's when I went last time, most of which were 240/260's.. If you check my gallery you'll get a fair idea, that said, in most of the shots I couldn't get NEARLY half the cars in! ..and if you join the club there's a dyno night in about 3 weeks (rubs hands). Simon's car was on the cruise last time too. I don't think I've ever seen so much chrome on a Jap car! Who did your bumpers by the way??
  18. Aw c'mon.. I live on Chevron Island and I'll be going. AND I don't have my car in QLD yet so I'll have to go in the $&^#ing Corolla and you still won't stop me!! Love to see your car some time. Have you seen the really nice Kalahari Tan one getting around?
  19. Good to see Dazza!! Anyone else?? (that was a sneaky way of saying "bump")
  20. A few people have asked me about the last Brisbane Z car club cruise and the possibility of another one...here it is!! 21. I've got a mate who has 3 SU's on his 260 2+2. He loves 'em.. and it did make a difference on the amount of power the car had. I'd be looking on Jag sites to see if the "correct" way of doing it is to have 2 lefts and a right, or the other way 'round.

Ye gods. That Star Wars car is hilarious. I wonder if he knows that people aren't laughing WITH him?

I love looking at people who "improve" their car by adding on useless crap.. and here is a great link to some of them! RICE

My brother owns an incredibly original 2+2 (original plug leds when we bought it!!) and same story, rectangular with stalk... front of 260
  25. I don't think the drivers seat is original. If you think about it, in many cases the drivers seat get a lot of abuse (because it always has a butt on it!!!) but a passenger seat can be left relatively untouched. Me thinks someone has had a worn-out drivers seat and at some point replaced it with a good passenger seat from another car.
