I had asked on the "datsun parts and needs" facebook page a week or so ago about mudguards for Z cars, and a picture surfaced but no one knows the source for mudguards like this: So does anyone have a set of them or knows where I can buy a set?
  3. Ok well i found one like it http://www.wheelsnext.com/wheels-tires-packages/AMERICAN%20RACING-Ar_767-Black%20w|%20Stripe.html Im having trouble finding vintage wheels and those have a small bend right before they touch the lip
  4. well that helps with knowing the brand. then i will just stick with looking for American Racing wheels
  5. Ive been looking for those for you and have only come up with these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Western-Dan-Gurney-Aluminium-Wheels-Rims-Porsche-914-VW-15-4-x-130-mm-/200734650092?hash=item2ebcb7aeec&item=200734650092&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr Im still looking though; this is fairly tough. I havent come across one single deep dish set only the standard ones. Oh and what does your center cap say on the 3 other rims. it may help me narrow it down
  6. How do I add my Z to the registry online? i own number 68845
  7. I updated my build thread with pictures, but the text version is this: Got attacked by a mouse that was living in the exhaust pipe. Removed entire exhaust Removed hatch Removed tail lights and section semi sorted loose parts

The car before removal of most of everything: The car after removal of mostly everything: Donor Car: Working in the car: Sanding the hood: Oxy and Acetylene burning the bondo off: at least 3/8s of an inch of bondo on that fender for no reason at all: This was the amount of bondo on the fender that was taken off before having to burn it off: Thats the progress so far that i have documented. The car is finally getting worked on!

Its been awhile since i last updated this. Not for lack of wanting too but because life gets in the way and there's a long story that goes with it. Ill be adding pictures of it tomorrow along with some "great" bodywork that was done to it at some point. Update: The car was moved from the original picture to the garage at the house which means my work area and my tools available have gotten a lot smaller. Tomorrow afternoon along with the pics I am going to remove the transmission and the drive shafts so i can have a rolling shell. Been taking autobody classes at the college and I am getting some major body work done to the car now. Ill update again when the new pics are ready to put up

  11. Well I passed up on that deal for those carbs, Since our trip did not go as close to where they were being sold as i had thought. Thanks for the help though
  12. I will get those numbers when i go to the shop. yes they are roundtops Yes i have a 72 240 with an L28 removed from the engine bay for restoration work and partial rust removal. From my small research It appears that a couple other cars nissan made had carburated L28's So my L28 may not even be from a 280z to begin with but i will get those cast numbers and get back to you. Im going to agree that it most likely has 240z carbs.
  13. Not all L28's are fuel injected. Since I have an L28 that is dual carburated on my motor stand The SU carbs I found are bolted onto a 260z intake manifold runner. The claim is that the intake runners from the 260z are bigger than the original intake manifold runner. So the question is, is it really bigger or not.
  14. are the 280z runners larger than the 260z? I found 2 pristine SU's but they have the 260z runners.
  15. removed the front fender and started to prep for the removal of the core support from the parts car and to put on my Z
