Thanks for the replies....Wiper motor is now the least of my problems!!! I am the dumbest arse on the planet as after owning this car for over 30 years I have managed to cook it by putting battery cables on backwards. Don't even know where to start.

Hello....I have been a club member for a couple years and up to now have only read the mail....I was talking to a neighbor, a fellow Z nut, he said he had heard that there is one model honda wiper motor that will bolt into the 240Z. I said " you mean the blower motor" and he said no...the wiper motor. Have any of you heard about this swap? Regards, Livenbad

  6. Just grazzing on the old posts and noticed this. Suggest you install a heat shield as zx distributor is very heat sensitive.

Thanks much!!!! Most of the parts on the car are almost new. I used to have a transistorized (bullet-proof) voltage regulator but it disappeared during service at a Nissan Dealership. I had forgotten what a pain the stock voltage regulators are. Thanks for the reminder....will check all you suggested. I have had the car since '73 and have rebuilt it 3 or 4 times...did most of the work myself.

Hello everyone.....my 71 Z has recently started having headlight problems. It takes several seconds for them to come on and amp gauge bounces around when they are on. However, the lights don't flicker. Suspect a bad relay but switch may be the problem...any thoughts on this??? I have owned the car since 73 and this is a new one on me.

I restored my 71 240Z for the third time last winter for my son. Now he "needs" AC. I think he has lost his mind! In the family since 74, was yellow, then red, now electric blue. During redo had to settle for Maaco paint job (just fair). Just some of the mods added over the years are 2.8 engine(prem gas) with triple solex carbs, racer brown cam, comp valves and springs, comp pistons, light steel flywheel, headers. 5-speed Datsun Comp tranny with steel syncros and comp clutch. 4.11 rear end (broke limited slip...sorry). Lowered Mulholland suspension with Bilstein shocks. Two piston comp brakes with 280 master cylinder. 280 radiator (with small leak) with electric fan, electric fuel pump. 280ZX distributor (have"Secret" high performance setup in a box). New interior door panels and perfect dash. good carpet Centerline wheels. New windshield, and more. ....Asking $7500 but can be had for less. Car is at x-wife's house with son in Dallas call 214-750 5871 and ask for Cricket.

Z Friends...I really need help on this. I started the Z this morning and it quit after few minutes at idle. Tried to restart it and it would turn over but would not hit at all. It is getting gas. Car sat for a few minutes and restarted. Amp gauge bouncing all over. Stopped running after about a minute. Will not start or hit at all now. Couple days ago I accidentially touched jumper leads (new battery dead while sitting out 5 month project). Car has aftermarket electronic ignition. Have I cooked it? I'm also thinking the diodes or fuseable link may be the culpret? Any ideas would be most appreciated:stupid:
