This forum isn't here to do WORK for anyone who shows up an asks a question? Then what is this forum here for if not to ask questions bout problems you are having with your cars? An what I said the car is doing is what the car is doing. That is what I am doing is trying to get it running an sell it. Trying to find the problems with this car is a chore me I would say computer or fusebox problem since the car is only getting half power when you turn the key on an nothing else works on it. The body an everything is sound on it. Just trying to find someone to buy a Z is bout as fun as trying to find out why it is not running. An nothing wrong with writing style just the way we do it here. Well what ever Zed Head to each there own enjoy your little Z an have fun.

nothing wrong with the D on the keyboard its an not and or & as u all do it. now back to the problem with this Z an how to fix it to get it running so I can unload this thing for good.

yea I had a guy replace some fuseablelinks he found on the passenger side an that was it.From what we found out there is more than that on the car. an yea got all of the info on that an still cant find nothing wrong with this car. an same as before the parking lights an taillights will come on an the volt meter will work an when you turn the key the car will backfire. thing is finding a short on this car I will have a guy i know look for it this weekend an see if he can find out what is wrong with it. Just be glad to get it running an get it sold an be done with it once an for all.

so what might be wrong with this car?

replaced everything in the fuel system battery fuel pump starter alt fule injectors cleaned fuel rail out all new fuel lines an never had the car running since i bought it in aug. 2011. lady i bought it off of had it running an drove it to her house were it sat 2 months not started. an lady i bought it off who got it off a guy who owed her money an she was going to crush it an i bought it before it got crushed. already replaced some fuses in it an some fuseable links that were bad. I need the car gone ASAP I got its replacement sitting in the driveway a 1970 Mercury Cougar XR7 with 351 Cleveland.

Hey Steve J what do you think is wrong with it what would be your guess on it?

yea when you turn the key to try to start it the parking lights an the taillights an volt gauge will come on an nothing else an it backfires an it wont start

I have a 77 280Z with factory engine an factory 5 speed manual I have replaced all fuel system, starter, fuses, fuel pump. An when you go to start it the parking light an taillights will come on an the volt guage an the car will backfire. Could it be a fusable link bad an if so were are they all located at on the car? I need to get the car running to sell it.

just trying to sell mine 280z & if I cant I guess start parting it out it would not take much to make a daily driver out of it already has several new parts on it. An just needs like 2 small places fixed an new tires an replace a fuseable link on it were ever it is at still cant find all of them on the car.

One thing to on power tools you could go with Ridgid an register them online an get a life time warranty with them. Also on the hand tools find out which ones have life time like Craftsman an so on get something that will last an has a lifetime warranty with them.

okay just wondering I am going to swap the 77 bumpers out on my 280z to 240 bumpers an found both 72 & 73 240z bumpers for sale an wondered what was the difference in them. An would the override bar from a 73 240z work on a 72 240z an stil look right?

I am looking to swap my 77 280z bumpers out for some 240z bumpers. I was told the 70-73 240z bumpers are the same an also that the 70-72 240z bumpers are the same an the 73 240z bumpers are different. Was told the 73 240z bumpers are not flush with the car like the 70-72 an the 73 stick out more from the body. Are the 73 bumpers bigger or just have brackets making them stick out farther from the body?

So that would still work even though I am going with the metal bumpers an not the fiberglass ones?

I have a 77 280z coupe an I am looking to swap the 77 bumpers out to the 240z bumpers. What all do I need to do this? I am wanting tthe bumpers flush with the car to give it a more cleaner look. I am also wanting to know what is these override guard bars you see for sale on the 240z bumpers what do they do an will they fit a 280z with 240z bumper with no problem?

like it its different talking about different colored car change the color of it in minutes an easy to clean. An the outside probably does not get as hot as a automotive gray or black would.

I have a 77 280Z that has the Z wheels on it & 190/70/R14 on it. I am looking to go from the 14" wheels & tires to 16" wheels & tires. I need 4 new tires an I was wanting to know what are some wheels that will work on this car an what are some to stay away from? An what are the tallest & widest tires I can go with minus adding fender flares to it? What are some good tires that would be good for year round everyday driving?
