  1. A couple of years ago my throttle got stuck, at 7,000 rpms I floated a valve and bent 1 valve. All 6 pistons had the half moon inprinted on the top. I put a new head on it and it's still going strong, I never took the engine apart, I just sanded/polished the top of the pistons with emery cloth. The compression of my motor is 10.6 to 1, a l28 block with stock bore and stroke, a fully ported E88 head (stock cam) and a clifford intake with a Eldelbrock 4-barrel. So yes a L series valve train can float at or past 7,000 rpm...
  2. The previous owner told me his dad bought this in Carlisle, Pa at a huge car show/swap meet back in the 80's. I would like to have someone make a mold of the entire kit. I've never really messed with glass but I'm up to learning. I'm worried that after it is all together someone wrecks it and I'm stuck trying to reproduce a panel from a wrecked piece. The only thing missing is the rear spoiler which should be easy to make. This kit looks so much like one of Ralph Eckler's (worked for Greenwood Corvettes) design based off the Sebring GT corvette, http://www.greenwoodcorvettes.com/StreetGT.html I want to open up the rear the same as the vettes. I'm putting a 450hp 383 stroker with a FIRST TPI system on it, http://www.firstfuelinjection.com/PDRM2287.JPG It should be a very nasty Z when it's finished. I have the motor in my '84 Buick Regal and it would run high 11's all day and it weighs 3400lbs, a '72 240z weighs 2400lbs. Any pointers on mold making let me know, or a cost of getting it done...   3. You can call Tidewater Z at (757) 868-6753 and they might be able to send you in the right direction. They recomended a body shop off I64 on 17 in Yorktown when my '72 240z received some storm damage. I can't remember the name of the shop... Good luck...
  4. I bought this fiberglass body kit off of Ebay with plans of installing it on my 1972 240z. I'm would like to know if someone can identify the builder and it they have any pictures on a car. Through my research it looks very close to a Greenwood Corvette IMSA widebody used from 1976-1980. This kit looks wild and if you look at the pictures please be aware that the panels are being held on by tape and can't be mounted correctly without removing the fender and cutting the rear quarter and bonding them to the car. I just put them on so myself and others can get a general idea on the look.
