Datsun 240Z - 1971 Blue Metallic 903
Yes! They came with my Z! All portuguese Z got the Kobe Seiko whells, there were 139 pairs...but nowadays only a few pairs on Z's... They are from the 432 Z and all are magenium made. In my case, the previous owner painted them in grey, but by the end of the resto they will become original...charcoal colour!

Datsun 240Z - 1971 Blue Metallic 903
Hi friends, Here I come again to show some updates ... because I'm on vacation Z is growing with another rhythm, but still go slow ... Mr. Victory is enjoying holidays ... In the last 3 days I have cleaned more pieces than in a year of restoration !!! bolts, nuts, washers ... clean, polish, paint ... the luck is that as I was the one who disassembled the car and got everything labeled... in the midst of my disorganization is not going badly...so far… At the moment I am waiting for the pieces of the galvanized process, they must arrive on Wednesday and unexpectedly I have to buy some pieces, I am missing two details that possibly the car no longer had, the central plate of the license plate and two black aluminium scuff plates that are in the inside the car. Possibly they were removed by the previous owner. The mechanics should come in January and until then we will build what we can !!! Let's go to the photos: After a cleaning and a polishing were very good! After it was applied with new screws and new rubbers, the old pieces were miserable. In this photo we can see the missing part ... Let’s see if I can find one quickly! I also installed the windscreen wiper motor. Tough task, I never thought it would take that long. I was afraid to scratch the car ... eheheeh The door locks were painted in the old car colour, I still thought of having zinc, but chrome is funnier and the result is very curious ... I like it !!! Here already applied ... The Z hook was in need of a good turn ... They were like this ... Here applied on place... I opened two new parts ... the tailgate supports ... And along with new and original screw and washers ... here we have them in place. Rubber from the doors already in the place ... Cleaning the clutch pump, and polishing. I'm new to this, but it turned out well !!! Here it is already on the place... I started by putting some pieces inside ... the "dogleg" already there! There are a few details missing ... especially stretching the vinyl ... let’s see if I can do it myself !!! I put the first symbols ... I had to take out the spoiler, but the result was very good! Here is the original color ... it was black ... but it should turn to grey ... I've been cleaning it for more than 30 minutes ... during the day I was just treating some pieces and going to the car on the next visit .. maybe Sunday.. I hope you continue to like the result, I would like to finish it before the end of January ... but it will be very hard. Regards Mário

Datsun 240Z - 1971 Blue Metallic 903
Hi, here I come again with fresh news! This weekend we made a new up-grade on some parts, and finally we start the assembling…slowly, but started… During the last week, I got most of the important parts to assemble the car, parts like bolts kit, rubbers kit, details for doors and some engine bay parts. I’ll make a list as lonf as we will put them on the car. Most parts are original and the aftermaket ones are excelente quality, Today Mr.Vitorino woke me up at 8:00 o’clock… - Hey, where are you???? - I’m sleeping…jump off the bed and come immediately to work on the car!!!! And so I did…ehehehehe A stubborn bolt…it broke when we dissemble the engie…but Mr.Vitorino saved the day!!! This is the resulto of the sandblast and metalization…this part is not ended yet, it will be painted with high temperature paint. This was missing part for the gearbox… New parts arrival and some care on organization! Center console up-grade My car is a second series from March 1971, but the previous owner changes some details, and the center console was one of them. I bought a series II to make this up-grade to make the car as much original I can. This console is much more attractive than the other…I’m extremely happy with the final result. 0https://i.postimg.cc/sf80mzk1/IMG-20181117-143115.jpg Even the leather pattern has small disserences… And this is the beginning…the first part that goes to the car…the exterior chrome trims… Mr. Vitorino cleaning them with a moisture to make them bright. And the final result…applied on car… Hope you enjoy this weekend work…next week will have more news…we will strat with the rear end! Regards Mário

Hi everybody! Thanks a lot for yor feed-back. I’ve got some news and that’s why I’m here again. Last Tuesday I went to Mr.vitorino shop and started do dismantle the Z…honestly I thought it was a dificult task, but it wasn’t…well, only in some little details. The ca ris in excellent shape as photos will show…I guess this car was restored or deep painted some years ago. Next week We’ll have at least one door rebuilt, below the doors and inside need some intervention. Here are some photos… Rear window acquisition…the car has the horizontal defrost lines and aren’t the correct…I found one vertical and job done…a few years ago I bought one in the USA and came broken…never bought or find anoter one..they are getting rare this days!!! The beggining… Door parts ready for the treatment…Nickel plating Rear floor…not bad!!! I got scared, but fortunately the brown zone is glue…no rust… Door ready for Mr.Vitorino! Original floor carpet…but has to be removed!!! Rear luggage accomodation in excelente shape And now the surprise…the original blue…It can only be seen on some detailed parts..this is one! Replacemente tyre floor…not bad…no rust… The seats will be rédone, but I will only take care of the parts that are completely off… No plastic cover…but I have 2 here…offered by a mate!!! Passenger side floor…the usual…46 years and some bad treatment…the reason…the jack tool…but Mr.vitorino said that’s a part to be redone… Drivers side floor…the usual again…but this one has no concerns…ist’s 75% good…a little intevention. By the end we will apply some Soundproofing board to avoid rust and noise. My helper keeping all the bolts in place! Under the plate no surprises!!!! Datsun logo temporarily off… In my opinion this s the exact moment to restore the car…it has some details that need intervention, and now that he has no rust holes and unrestorable parts the process will be much easier. Hope you like it…next week some more news!!! Regards Mário- Datsun 240Z Shim doors
Thanks for answering. I've ones that came with the car, aluminium, but very ugly and don't want to use them. But you gave an excellent idea, I take the ugly ones and make a reproduction. Thanks for answering! I've them in aluminuim, and I want it original, but you're right, with the correct thickness I can make new ones! I'll try next weekend! You're very helpfull, thanks a lot!!! I'll tell you the result next week! Thanks for answering! That's true...I used to do it in my 510 and worked, but I noticed this part when started the Z resto, and as a fan of originality I ask for original parts! Thank you all for answering!!! I'll tell you the result!!! Right now I'll update my post!!! Regards Mário- Datsun 240Z Shim doors
Hi! I'm searching for the 240z, 260z Shim doors, upper and lower, in order to adjust the 240Z doors properly. Anyone can get me the pairs? On the picture the arrows show the parts I'm searching. Regards Mário- Parting Out 1976 280Z
Hi, do you have the Shim doors, upper and lower,? I believe they fit 240Z... On the picture the arrows show the parts I'm searching. Regards Mário- New Here - From Portugal
Sure! No problem! I live near the border, close the border! But we can manage a meeting! Ok for me!!! I'll show you some interesting cars in Portugal! When are you travelling Portugal?- New Here - From Portugal
and finally my HLS30...1971 After a Datsun rally meeting here in Portugal, I saw 3 Fairladies...and then I decided...I have to have one...and in 2011 I bought myZ. The car is not original, it has the look of a 73, and even the center console is a 73. And that happened because on the 90's the previous owner crashed it, and the front had to be completely new. I assume that Datsun dealer here in Portugal didn't effort in a search for the original parts, and change the look of the car, and the center console was removes because the owner was searching for an upgrade. And even the colour, she was grey, but also blue, but a darker blue, because I think this colour appears on the 72/73 Z. I'm searching for parts and at the moment I have 90% of them, so, the resto will happen shortly, I hope. She doesn't seem too bad, and even rust has spoiled her, as I live in a hot part of Portugal with not much humidity. Despite the non original parts, I love to driver her and every weekend I spent a few time with her...and of course with my other 2 Datsun. Hope you enjoy my Datsun's...- New Here - From Portugal
1971 510 SSS I bought this one in 2009 because I needed a car to make some work...This one is completely original, and the extra it has is the radio, but I prefer that way to make some trips with company, the reason. This one was parked for 15 years, and was bought with original 53.000 km's...a rare thing. The only work I did was on mechanic, but normal parts, such as bearings, brakes, water tubes and some deep revision on the fluids.- New Here - From Portugal
Hello everybody! My name is Mário and I'm from Portugal. I'm registered in many clubs and foruns, and I was registered here also, but my computer crashed and just a few hours ago I discover the forum and could register, so here I am! I hope I can learn tons of stuff from our Z's and some other cars too, and also share with you my experience ans know how. I'm the proud owner of a B110, 510 SSS and a 1971 S30. I had restored back in 2006 the B110, a 100% restoration project that lasted 3 years, I think some of you might know the story, because I'm registered in tons of sites and clubs, and the B110 is now the most famous I got. Then I bought the 510 SSS, my dream car, and still is one of my passions. It's a hell of a car... And then in 2011 I bought my Fairlady. She's not all original as you will see by the photos, but soon, I hope, I will give her a 100% resto as I did to my B110. Hope to have fun and help you!
