IMG_5685.MOV Additional photos, cherry blossoms , like me , Japanese people really love it. Side note , original tire was 175 HR 14 for this car , not available anymore today .Yokohama tyre is selling 175 80-14 for classic cars . I put them on my car , not perfect but not bad . Kats IMG_5680.MOV

Hi Gavin , I see you have skills!! I want to do it like you , but maybe I can’t. Just give it a try. I will show you my progress of hammering bumpers and panels . Yesterday I took my 240ZG to my mothers home, 885km (550 mile) . I checked 606.2 km for 44.45 litters during daytime , 90 % on the high way .The fuel economy was 13.63 kilometers/ litter ( 32.08 miles /US gal) . Conditions were like this , Average speed 100km/h with 5th gear / 3.9 final gear Overall field elevation, I don’t know ,, but Japan ,a lot of mountains everywhere in a small landscape .Probably I was driving on a Slightly up and down road . Average temperature was 20 degrees Celsius (68 degrees fahrenheit). Wind less than 10 knots, variable. Does my maths look reasonable ? Kats IMG_5643.MOV

I didn’t think about that, it makes sense to have the same edge on the bonnet. I will check it ! Kats

Hi , I did a little bit for HLS30-2146 . Rear bumper removed, tried to straighten by rubber hammer and wood basement, I feel long way to be straightened . Today I want to show headlight cases which I am working on. Please see the pictures, I found 2146 has a steel type on the right hand side, so I am going to replace it with a plastic old one . You see the steel type has round corners on front edge , which is easily noticed from our view . What I want to say is , my 2156 has plastic type but they were NOS when the car was restored in 2000. And those NOS headlight cases are not showing sharp edges like the old originals . You can see the difference between the two, my 2156 and old original. This old original is sharpened by my hand a little bit more as I found it had a thick paint on it . I really love this pointy headlight case , how about you? Kats

Hi , I will check it,I think I saw that sticker in a Nissan sedan car . Kats
-
I checked room mirror basement of my 2146 and 2156 , they both have the same date on it . “ 0.2.7 “ I think it says 1970 February 7th. Also a horn contact plate , 2146 has “ 45. 2. 3.” 1970 February 3rd . Unfortunately 2156 lost the stamp , almost nothing I can read . It is so fun to look at , imagine old days of Nissan shatai factory . Not only Nissan shatai , each small part was made different manufacturers, interesting! Kats

Hi Gavin , in this thread , SteveE saw my car then kindly provided his spare . He said he bought it with other parts from Nissan long time ago but never needed to used it . Kats

Racing green ? Nissan forgot the green long time ago, but I hope it becomes available again . Kats

Wonderful! O. K. D is 1969 November 4th for the Jack 9 L is 1969 December for the chocks. It is nice to see these examples as they happen to have the tools a little bit earlier than car like yours .Kats

Hi , today I would like to show you this , a NOS trim panel for my car . Thanks @SteveE, I appreciate your great help . This piece is now very hard to see in this condition, not only for the early car style ( non-access panel type ) , also this is a blue panel ! I can confirm the real color when blue cars left from the factory . Next time I do some work for my new blue 240Z , I will show you the difference of color between two of them , old and new . I need to work for the car as it deserves this beautiful piece. It will be a long way . Or I will put this on my -2156 until -2146 becomes beautiful. Kats

What ??? Why does YouTube prohibit seeing American rock video in your American home ? By the way , has Nissan USA ever used their song for TV commercial? I just imagine and it seems to me their name “ ZZ Top“ is suitable for selling Z cars . Kats

I dedicate this song to siteunseen . Kats

Marshall guitar amp , is not it ? Both volumes are set maximum , I think I am hearing Hard Rock guitar solo ! Kats

Thanks xs10shl, this is a great work and I am sure this log will be a nice instruction guide for everyone who need to install the system into a Z432 , probably for GTRs ( PGC10/KPGC10/KPGC110) too . Ignition management is a key of those cars , no more new parts from Nissan today , and there is no singles part which is interchangeable with a stock L-series engine system. Even if someone has a complete , perfect S20 but without working ignition system ,it will be sad for the car and for the owner . Or like this , I am a bit fool for S20 even if it doesn’t sit on a car . Just looking at the machine, I can spend whole day of my life . Except Alan ,I don’t think we can explain about this engine. This is probably a pinnacle of existing, working of all the S20. I will report when this engine starts fire up in a car . Kats

Seems Alan and me are only people who are interested in the head light cover 😁We are in a Tokyo motor show class room , learning every day. If this was three screw type , I would like to check design prototype cars . There might be some same character for both covers . Kats

Let me see one more time , Kats

Thanks Alan! And Chris, I didn’t realize it, E4125 , I am confused too . That is additional home work ! Here is a picture from “My car report “ Dec 1969 , do we see three screws on the head light cover ? Still mystery. Kats

I have this paper , supplemental information for optional parts for S30 series . Dated 45. 1. 21 ( 1970 . January 21st ) , just a little bit earlier than “Race and Rally manual Fairlady Z 432-R” February 1970 . I want to see if there is one which is earlier than Jan 21st 1970 . We see the first parts catalog for Fairlady Z series is November 1969 . And this catalog, there are lot of blank pages .No pages for option parts ,even no pages for keys, heater system either , etc etc . I guess parts catalog department was working so hard on publications to catch up with car delivery. I thought parts catalog was ready just in time , but it wasn’t, was it usual thing back in the days ? So , this supplement information paper dated January 21st 1970 might not be a big delay if this is a first one , I guess. Today we have internet, but in 1970, business people must have send these paper packed in an envelope and threw it into a post . Kats

Hi Gavin, I already have an image of it .Will be a big monument rather than a statue. Nissan Shatai HIRATSUKA factory is the place I think . I have visited there once with club members , “ factory tour “ . I want visit there one more time ! Kats

Thank you so much Chris! That is what I want to see . 26th and 27th both have a unique metal tab behind the passenger seat, and no- bracket ( I mean no -ordinary bracket) for the master vac hose. And I see the bar- type panel press indent near the jack holder bracket, this is new to me . Maybe it would be a signature of ultra early car , what do you think about it? Now I’m curious about when was the boundary for the cars which have this unique jack holder bracket associated with a master vac hose bracket. We need more examples. Kats

BIG THANKS ALAN !! You said it all .Your said “ Rosetta Stone “ , I am shivering with it . I am feeling that I want to make a statue of the document , and put your commentary aside. Where is the best place to display? Thanks Alan. Kats

Hi , I need everyone’s help to find out when Z432 PS30-00023 were made . What I am scratching my head for is , PS30-00028, 53, 55, 61, 62, 63 they all have a bracket for the master VAC hose . And PS30-00023 will probably be the same . I thought this bracket is not for most of the 69 cars , and PS30-00023 and 00028 look early enough for No- bracket car . The production figures which I have got Mr. Uemura and Mr.Osawa showed that Dec 1969 , 688 cars for domestic, only 97 cars for export. 688 was almost Triple of the number for domestic in November. For export, in November 388 , then stalled to 97 in December. The feedback from the test run in US & Canada might affect assembly lines , I guess they switched making domestic cars more instead of making export cars. Thinking about Z432 , up to PS30-00072 is 1969 car ( according to the Japan automobile Industry cooperation) . I was expecting approximately 25 Z432s a month from October to December. So , PS30-00053 have the bracket that makes sense to me . But PS30-00023 and 28 , were they made in late November or December? If the bracket for the master VAC hose started to attached from late November or early December, and PS30-00023 has the bracket, then we see Z432 PS30-00023 to 72 ( there would be others of course) were finished assembling in late November or December 1969 . @26th-Z @MikeB @240260280, could you show us your 1969 car’s bracket, and also I want to see the bracket for the metal band for the Jack stowed. Very early cars have this unique shape bracket on the floor , behind the passenger seat. Kats

Side note , my 240ZG has old screws, maybe originals. And captive nut for the head light case is original for 240ZG. Kats
