  1. Thank you Chris, This photo makes me think it was a bit difficult to patch a shock basement dish with a tower, were they welded together prior to meet a wheel arch ? If I were there and watching it, I would ask the worker "please do not use a failure piece, use new one"... Here is a good example, her sister PS30-00087 has a good spot welding on the both towers. And about early head bolts, you are so lucky obtained it, just great. Fred, let us see what you see ! Kats
  2. An error occurred in an assembly line, You see the double spotted welding around the shock tower, this is unusual, I think the worker missed welding. Is this because my car is an early production? Passenger (left ) side is normal. Kats
  3. More exhaust, this is a Nissan race option header for L24 , I think this can be used for LHD , I am tempted to install this to my HLS 240Z in some time. When I do that, E4200 (for 1970 blue 240Z)/ E8710 (for 1971 orange 240Z or 1972 ZG) exhaust system will come together. My friend (240ZG owner) is doing something nice, this race header with SU carbs. He said it is fun to drive, no need to have Solex! Kats
  4. Here are some pictures of my parts which I will never use(^~^) Exhaust system for Z432, E4200 is for an early type, E8710 is for a later type when new console / prop shaft started to apply(joint position is slightly different) . And an exhaust header, mine is painted by the seller unfortunately, this one was sitting on a shelf from early 1970 ( the seller even did not remember this is a NOS or used ) , it must have a part number stamped on a tube, I wished I could see it. The 4th picture is for a reference from yahoo auctuon, the NOS exhaust pipes has the part number as you can see . Kats
  5. Chris, Like you said I am doing a bit strange! But I always can not stop myself from buying something if there is a old part which is wrapped with a Nissan paper. I too want to see how crankshaft is doing well in a S20 engine even only 4 counter weights. Yours is balanced with assorted parts, that is great ! Chris, is your crankshaft has an early less counterweights? Please let us know when you fire it up in someday ! Kats
  6. Hi Chris, I am not going to do anything right now, I just want to collect parts for overhalling in the future! The man who sold this crankshaft is a real fanatic. Kats
  7. Believe it or not, S20's crankshaft has only 4 counter weights, some people say it should have had more , on the other hand , most people are still enjoying sharpe response up to the red line with the stock crankshaft. Kats
  8. Hi, I have got this , crank for S20 engine. Now in Japan humidity is very high like in a bath room, we do not like summer in Japan . I need to take care of this, the wrapping paper is special, there is a caution you see. I carried it in my room , not in a outside garage. Kats
  9. Careless, this is a pretty interesting thread, and I am just amazed by your effort. I have some pictures for this topic, NOS tail panels with lamps on Yahoo auction rigt now (aprox.5000USD for reserve) and hub caps which were installed on topy wheels with Skyline GTR.( wheels were exactly same as S30 and many other cars) The caps are now on sale for 1000-1500 USD ! And my Z432 at an auto show in 2007 just after the restoration had been completed, my car had a set of NOS tail light panels . Looks like tail panels lighter than topy wheels when new. The wheels were not only for S30 series, topy did not make wheels for specificaly for S30 series. On the other hand, tail light panels were only desined for S30 series. Mr.Matsuo said the design teem wanted somthing special, they came to an idea ''sanding paper feeling'' for the rear panels. Hope this helps, Kats
  10. Thanks Chris ! I really love R380-A ll, also R382 is my hero. On 10th October 1969, The R382 won the Japan Grand-prix .While Nissan Shatai was making 52 export 240Zs in October, your 26th & 27th could be stayed a bit longer in a assembly line because workers took National holiday and watched Japan Grand-prix ! (1964 Tokyo Olympic was on 10th Oct, after that the day became a national holiday) . The GRX (6000cc 580ps/7200rpm 60kg-m/5800rpm) was terrific, looks like two S20s were combined together. Kats
  11. Driver's side first, the other side will be soon applied. Kats
  12. Fred, we want to see it, please post in some time. Is it written in Japanese? Today I did something on my Z432, I made a stripe by my hand and apply it myself. Lots of bubbles are still needed to be clear off and not straight in some place, the result is not so good. I wanted some racing appearance on my Z432. Kats
  13. Eagle Moss Fairlady-240Z model I bought this model , 1/8 scale Fairlady-240Z . I still leave it in boxes , no time to assemble. I am not so happy about it's quality, it could be much more enthusiastic, much more being precision model car. 1/8 scale is pretty big, I was expecting I could assemble pistons and crankshaft, transmission, and I could turn them by hand ! But nothing like that , it is just a big model.... On the other hand, I am so satisfied about the booklet series 1 to 100 , each booklet has wonderful articles about S30 , even sometimes other manufacturer's cars are featured. And also, the DVD "the development story of the S30 " is just a wonderful to watch. It was very expensive, I payed big money for the model car but, these booklet and the DVD make me feel highly rewarded. Kats PS , I enjoyed seeing and reading about Rally cars , the main stories are not new for me but I found many new things in the articles. What a great results the team made. They became legend, the footage became great history. I am very proud of myself , I have 240Z too ! Kats
  14. Hi Fred, Yes I love originals, however it is difficult nowadays, I bought these hoses back in 2005 in LA . Kats
  15. Replaced fuel tank hoses My 12/ 1971 Orange 240Z had a leak from the tank when I filled full of tank. I checked and looked from underneath of the tank, I assumed the U-shape big hose might have some crack. It was fun replacing old to new one, I did some clamps replacing as well. And you see 46 11 29 on the vapor tank, that is 1971 Nov 29th . Kats
  16. Thank you every one, I continue collect "date " of my car 's parts and other car's parts, We will find out some very interesting things. Here is my 240ZG inside mirror , 2 6.23 might mean 1972 June 23rd. collesponding the car's other parts date and making sense registered date "July 1972" . Kats
  17. These are still available at local Nissan, S20 engine parts. Timing chain, oil pump chain, all the bearings of crank, conrod,IN/EX cams, and some rubber grommets . Thank you Nissan, please continue... Kats
  18. ZG over fender, When I checked this car before buying, I checked a "sticker" on all of four over fenders. A true 240ZG has true over fenders, which has sticker FR, FL, RR, RL for each ones. Previous owner gave me spair over fenders, I confirmed stickers on them, and original un-touched gray color. Kats
  19. This red Z432 was sold instantly, just one week after arriving at a show room. I could offer trading my Z432 with this car, I really love red color and non-restored car. This is super. And very original, very early. I was amaized by the emblems on the rear gate, they are still positioned correctly. So many Fairlady-Zs were restored incorrectly about badges. Owners wanted to have a better place of the badges for their own? I do not know. One thing I noticed about a wheel choke. You can see 9 I (ai , or one) on it, I imagined 1969 , September if I is ai, not one. We see this type of labeling for a radiator , oil cooler, heater box. My 03/70 240Z has 0 B on the wheel choke, I guess it means 1970 February. What do you think of it ? Kats
  20. I met club members, there was Mr.Sato with his very early Z432 , PS30-00013 / S20-000796. This yellow Z432 was a press car for test driving. Many car magazines took this car and reported. It is good to see her still on the road . Kats IMG_5339.MOV
  21. Thank you Alan, that is correct. Z432 Tank does not have a return pipe, and the sending pipe is bigger than L-engined model. Here is a tip of Solex carburetor , Terashima-San made this label, I have been dreaming about I put this on the Solex , to be replaced with Skyline Solex label ,A-15a . I think Jets are different between them, other things are the same . Kats
  22. Hi hr369, I have not used degital thermometer, I am interested in it, I will find the difference of indication between the two of them. The wheel hub cap, thanks information ! Z432 does not have a chain on the cap, but 240s (03/70 & 12/71) have a chain and both are early type cap. Kats
  23. Hi hr369, Water temp does not look big change , but slightly stays lower than before. Probably cleaning the radiator and applying new coolant, well taking care of air bleeding worked . Still no chance for obtaining 75mm cap for the blue 240Z's wheel. Kats P.S. This factory photo is showing a radiator fan securing bolts , I can see the wires. I think my job was not so bad.
  24. Water pump replaced, I started yesterday and done today. Now my car has got s correct Z432 water pump. After test driving I found little leakage at radiater big hoses , re-tighten the cramp up and test driving again, no leakage has found. I tried wiring for the radiator fan securing bolts, they have a tiny hole for the wire. Piano wire 0.45 is strong enough, the wire did not behave what I wanted to bend. I had to do it in a limited access situation ( I did not undo the oil cooler and the hood and the grill) So , the results is not pretty. I want the wire is more tight. Kats
