  1. Hello everyone, I am sorry I did not reply for those nice inputs. Thank you Koalia , z-spec , those are wonderful story. ajmcforester,my Z432's Dunlop is still available like Michelin XWX.It is a bit expensive for 14inch wheel, but I really like the looks. You can buy it from U.K. via internet.I got them in Japan ,Dunlop Japan is selling them(I think shipped from U.K.) kats
  2. Thank you Mike, Here are some pictures of the side bolt, this yellow car is PS30-00013,pictured in late 1969 then showed up on 01/1970 magazine. This car has the bolts on each side, how about HLS30-00013? If HLS30 does not have the bolts, can I say PS30-00013 would be earlier than her? kats
  3. Thank you Mike, That helped me a lot, quite high number of early cars do not have the one,but special one.Very nice clear pictures, thank you. So these bracket can not be the good sign of super early car. How about "no-hood bumper" ? One more good point of super early car,is the side bolt of a head lamp case. I want to know how many cars do they have this bolt? See this picture. kats
  4. Hi Carl, Last October, at the dinner Mr.Yoshida and Mr.Tamura they both agreed that Mr.Tamura did final body styling of the S30, Mr.Yoshida told us about Mr.Tamura's great job when they were joined the project. Carl, that statement was from Mr.Yoshida.I think Mr.Yoshida does not know Fiberglass body was made in Nissan or not. I see Mr.Yoshida's sketche, I think he draw this car from CSP311, front section looked same. For me, A550-X has same front section oriented CSP311 which was designed by Mr.Kimura. As I told before, CSP311 was designed by Mr.Kimura. Mr.Goertz joined CSP311project after completion of its styling.Mr.Goertz did change around C piller section. That is the only work by him which influenced to styling. I think Mr.Goertz borrowed CSP311 front styling for A550-X:) kats
  5. Hi, I have been thinking up load these test reports from a gentleman who worked Nissan as a member of test drive section. I think it is a good idea to show these before I turn to be unable do it. Details will be available later I hope. #1, PS30(Z432) performance report ( From 25th Feb 1970 to 14th Mar 1970) #2, Avoidance of Exhaust gas entering in a cabin (11th Sep 1972) #3, Improvement of stability at high speed cruising for HLS30Q for Europe (from Feb 1970 to 27th Mar 1971) kats
  6. Hi DC871F, I fly ANA(All Nippon Airways) , are you fly FEDEX? Some Z-432R pictures, a simple support for the rear gate(Plexiglas rear hatch window is very light) , no master vac, engine under food, 100 littler gas tank, typical interior with special ignition system, no- arm rest on the door panel, e.t.c. kats
  7. Hello Dan, As you know airlines in Japan are facing really hard time right now,I want to keep my cars but I do not know how long I can play with my cars:ermm: If I am sold my 3 cars, what do I do next? There is a good 1969 240Z with good low price for sale in Japan,I would buy the car ? I do not know. Anyway please see my 1989 Silvia, this car is super clean,I did not touch anything to replace except oil/water/battery/tires.Turbo car, with a head up speed display. http://www.geocities.jp/datsunz903/s13.html kats
  8. Hi Joe, Akemashite omedeto gozaimasu! S30-00002 has not have news to tell us so far, I still can not make a trip to look into the car's detail. One thing I have heard recently from a man who worked for Nissan, it was common in Nissan Shatai (manufacture) stamping duplicate chasiss number for test assembling. Like 00002 or some super early number would have been used again, they thought no-problem because those numbered car never be able to get out the factory anyway, they (real 00002 and duplicate 00002) are test cars. This is just my thought,I think this car is not 1969/ S30-00002. I think in 1971 they made this car and stamp S30-00002 on the firewall. One of the big reason is , the bracket for the master vac hose under the chassis number. This 00002 has it, but if you look really carefully into 1969 cars( I do not know the VIN but cars like on the manuals) does not have this bracket. I saw HLS30-00013 does not have this bracket but it has a special bracket near the window washer tube. PS30-00013 is still exist in Japan and it is the same, no bracket but a special bracket.Even no hood bumpers. Yes you may say the bracket was welded later, but.... And the chassis number, it is too neat to be an early car. See the picture of PS30-00009 , this is a good example of super early car. No bracket for the master vac hose and not-neat numbers. kats PS:Remember, when this 00002 was found in the dismantle yard, the shop owner did not want to sell the car.I have heard he said "I can not tell anything about this car" Some story must behind there. kats
  9. Hi S30TRBO, He is a very nice guy and I was surprised that 3 S20 engined cars were shipped to his garage at same time, what a wealthy man he is. I was thinking selling my Zs to someone, I found him he would have be the man. I offered him selling my Z432 and 240Z( and 1989 Silvia) but current exchange rate is bad for him, and I hesitated to selling my cars,so the deal was not made. His Z432 is PS30-00037, a real 1969 Z432:) kats
  10. Hello esprist, I have been waiting those for a long time,I buy them and I will throw my old 30+ years NOS ones to ebay without any regret. Thank you:) kats
  11. Thank you Z CAR 77, BTW,this car is a taboo,I think.But some one may want.A real 2000GT costs 25000000 JPY, this car 2500000 JPY, it is 1/10 price. http://www.goo-net.com/usedcar/spread/goo/12/0100100102A4003376003.html kats
  12. :)Thank you Jim Please try another videos of S20 engine by someone, every engine has different sound,it is fun to see. The blue Z432 in Related videos has OEM air cleaner and OEM Exhaust manifold, but custom made center and rear exhaust system and,it has got 2500cc.The sound is different. kats
  13. Merry Christmas, I for the first time up loading the video to You Tube. I hope you can enjoy it in every country. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YzHa4yJzRg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbX1PkjYr_o&feature=related kats
  14. Thank you Carl, I saw your baja 240Z in a book store nere my house,"Nostalgic Hero".Congratulations!! Hi Ian, That day 31th was a special day for all of Nissan fans, there was a forum of car design of Nissan at Hiratsuka city art museum.Lots of old sketches , tools of car design, clay models, and cars were displayed. And what a special was, talking about historical car design by designers. I was not there, I missed it so much (Ian you would also) there were lots of important people of Nissan car design, Mr.Kimura (CSP311) was there and, Mr.Kimura's talking was just great. He told CSP311 was his design, after completion of its styling , Mr.Goertz joined the project. Mr.Goertz did change rear quater piller shape. Other body styling was "my design". kats
  15. Mr.Yoshida kindly let me bring his file home,I show some of them. His sketch, pistures, news paper(saying going on sale 20th DEC 1969) e.t.c. Last picture, this 240Z must be the one on the display stand at Tokyo motor show.Note the tire is not Bridgestone, they are DUNLOP GRAND SPEED CS1 /6.45-14. At that time there was Bridgestone superspeed radial 20-175SR14 already applied to 240Z by seeing other pictures,so this fact could be a good reason of the car could be an EURO car. kats
  16. To begin with,I have to pass these words all of you from Mr.Yoshida,he is very very modest gentleman. He talked very tenderly but very clearly. "S30 design was totally created and developped by Japanese people, people in the Nissan, members in the sports car studio,we never had have been taught by Mr.Goertz about S30 styling,we never had have been inspired by the A550-X for styling S30. Mr.Goertz had left Nissan before the S30 project,we had no-relation with him at all " "It is too much abrupt for saying A550-X resemble to S30,they are completely different car, S30 had taken cared of 100 times more than A550-X had.I never felt A550-X was a great looking car,I thought the car was in just on the half way of its completion. Each time Mr.Goertz visited Nissan was limited time schedule,I knew Mr.Goertz could not take care of the car like we do.The results was his best at that time." "I did CSP311 interior, that was totaly my work. And, I did A550-X interior only me. A550-X was always in Yamaha,so I went to Yamaha manytimes to do work. I was only one in the S30 design team who saw the car undergoing in Yamaha factory." "A550-X project was a seacret like other car, so that no one out side of Yamaha would know the car. I do not remember clearly, but #1 and #2 prototype were made of metal,#3 was made of Plastic. I do not know one of them arrived at Nissan or not, anyway S30 designers never seen A550-X in the Nissan factory.(Mr.Tamura also said he never saw A550-X during his work" "I think A550-X was oriented from Mr.Goertz" kats
  17. Hi, I really enjoyed meeting Mr.Yoshida and Mr.Tamura ,we all had a goo time. 1st picture,Mr.Yoshida when he was in the team. 2nd picture, left Mr.Yoshida , right Mr.Tamura(he looked not happy? he did enjoy so much but he always does not like taken picture) 3rd picture, left is kats, right is Mr.Matsui(he works for Fuji industry (Subaru) as a designer) kats
  18. Hi Filipe:) Carl,I will ask that to them, hope we will have a good answer. I think you are not trying to say Mr.Goertz did design S30's body. But are you trying to say Mr.Goertz's that prototype could have an influence to S30's body? I agree Carl that Mr.Goertz introduced a method of styling by clay model to Nissan, that was a benefit to Nissan. But I remember Mr.Matsuo and other Nissan designers were saying that they saw the prototype once or twice, they did not think that prototype was cool, looked very skinny and too much old fashioned. They thought they could build more nicer car than that. Of course Nissan designers knew there were lots of beautiful sport scars around the world. I think even if Mr.Geortz was not hired the Nissan, the designers of Nissan would have created sports cars. They already had a mind what is a beautiful sports car. Please stay tune, tomorrow night will be fun. kats
  19. Hello Gary, Thanks to Chris,Ghibli debut 1967, Mr.Matsuo's team saw the car so that prototype C was quit but it's roof and rear section was joined to the Type A. I think If they did not see the Ghibli,S30 could have be different style... GrandPrixGreen,I will ask Mr.Tamura those parts were designed by him or not. Carl, thank you for the comment, and you like the TypeAC ,really? I am happy I can have production model ,not Type AC 31th is coming soon. kats
  20. Here is a Mr.Tamura's hand drawing. This is one of his design work. kats
  21. Alan, Thank you for this important point of view.I also have been same feelings about this topic.I totally agree with you. Carl, the man on the right is Mr.Nishikawa.Japanese book you and I have is wrong like Alan said. The left young man,I will ask Mr.Tamura on 31th. Attached image is a scan of a letter from Mr.Tamura,he typed it then he added by his pen. kats
  22. Hello AD240Z, That is a good question for me,I can say how it was a difficult to buy a car for young people in Japan at the time. I was born in june 1969,not wealthy at all but ordinary family. My family did not have a car before I was born. The first car was a small Mitsubishi 4 door sedan"Galant". For my family, and for most of the people in japan, the word for S30 debut "Dreams come true" did not have reality for those people. I have heard avarage earnings of people who graduated university was aprox.20000 yen per month, so Fairlady Z-L was almost 50 times more. These days in Japan, people could not have loan easily like today. Now in Japan, in that case 200000 yen per month, 50 times more is 10000000yen,like buying a Porche,NISSAN GTR etc.Or two Z34! But I do not think there are many young people willing to pay such a big money on a car. When I was 6 years old,my father got NISSAN Laurel.People in the U.S. have never seen this car I think,it has got 6 cylinders L20 engine. I am happy I have same L- series like my father used to.
  23. That's it,thank you Alan:beer: Perfect,Alan.I am very happy you can interpret instead of me. Please keep going like this, now I can not stop myself asking what Mr.Tamura is talking about in all the pictures I attached so far... Let's do it together,Alan.Or anybody can read Japanese would be appreciated .Some fellow members here have Japanese wives? kats
  24. Mr.Tamura began re-finishment from the body side panels. Please see his drawing, Do you see what he is explaining? kats PS:Mr.Tamura said some designers prefer to start from right hand side(driver side in Japan) but he always start from left hand side(passenger side in Japan, port side in ship/airplane). Modellers helped to make opposite side to be identical shape.Mr.Tamura said he was a number one modeller in the studio, good modellers like him can make almost perfect identical shape without mesurement/machine.The difference is only aprox.10mm!
