  1. Hi 26th-Z, It is amazing that you have a document of your 26th from its deliverly.I love it,I love it. I have been dreaming,I wish I could find when my 03/70 240Z arrived to the U.S. and who bought and what my Z looked like in the datsun dealer? I post again the data of nissan shatai. I hope it helps someone. kats
  2. Thank you Marty, It is a convincing to hear the story from someone related the matter. I feel good I can confirm that there were many damaged car, and some people picked up undamaged parts from crashed car, this is true. About test cars, what I saw and heard is there were 2 240Zs and they were sent back to japan.Maybe I am talking different test cars from what Marty heard. I will start a new thread of "test drive from Oct to Dec 1969" kats
  3. So,there might be a rack of vin number sequence.I think this is not only for 240Z nor early 1970,this is same for every car and nowadays right? I told you once I got rare "chrome Z" quater badge in japan.I could not understand why this very very rare export parts was selling in japan? Now I pictured this badge came from damaged 240Z in very early export ship, the car probably sent back to japan. It is very fun to think. Is there any other story for this? Thank you, kats
  4. Hi, Today I want to think about this with all of you here,I do not know right word for this, let me exprain first. I heard a story of "crashed or damaged 240Z in the export ship" during its way to the U.S.due to bad weather enroute, cars are jumping and dancing even it is tied down very very securely. Some cars are not suficiant to deliverly because exterior is so damaged, then what happen? The damaged car is sent back to japan!!It was happned in early 1970 I think. How about you? So,there could be an un-official "240Z outlet".There is a story may proof this,my friend Dr.Suzuki said he got his rear spoiler at somewhere in japan for free. That spoiler is europ version,it was not easy to reach the man who worked at the department of "Nikuzure-hin"(Ni means usualy raggage, kuzure is fallen down, hin is parts or products) means "parts from damaged car to be scraped during export" Some my japanese friend told me if sevier damaged, car was shipped back to japan,so there might be the rack of

It is exciting for me,I want to talk and show you my Z a lot of things. If I have enough time,of course I would love to go Les's shop and nice junk yard. I know what all of you think, japanese Z should go to convention. It is much more worthy to comunicate and look into the difference each other.I have a lot of japanese owner you may want to see 240ZG,Z432R,powerd by LY28 etc. These Zs are worth to see.But this time, all S30 is LHD.This is not intentionaly,I do not know just happened, please believe me. And 26th-Z,your differencial's photo show the sign of sticker,it is interesting,Mine has repainted long time before,so I can not see it. P.S.I post this photo for all U.S. Z car enthusiasts. kats

I have to tell all of you,my Z is not great as you think. The photo is always showing better than actual sight. This is true and you know it.I have a lot of things to do,when I arrive at L.A. I will do many things for my Z as much as I can. I missed my Z,it will take 2 weeks to reach U.S.I hope everything all right, not fall off hub caps and not scrach exterior... Thank you kats

  13. Hi Joseph, After I brashed clamp,I used grease for it.Put grease just a little on a cloth then rub the clamp.I think I have to do it again in some good interval otherwise it will get rust! Today I show you the "next"unique clamp. It is on the brake reservoir cylinder. Please look at this http://www.geocities.jp/datsunz240zsports/diy.html The photo is located at the bottom of its page. kats
  14. Hi Scott, Thank you very much,I can picture that.I am going to ask one more about number of hole for the front portion for the retaining to the bracket(in front of the radiator). But now, price is excceding my maxmam bid. Thank you kats
  15. Hi, I am sorry,I just want to confirm"mustache" and "moustache" both are correct? Ben,I found this number in other Z cars. Also japanese Z has its part number on it. 18. Hi abas, No problem about tire, please take your time.I agree with you I need about 10 fuel clamps.I only have 7 now,I want 3 or more. Hi Northern NJ Larry, I use a metal brash with a machine, will post the photo soon. The shop owner Mr.Fukumto let me use the machine.I use it for almost every nuts and bolts and small parts. Thank you kats
  19. Hello Scott, I have been watching your very nice bumper, and I want to know if this bumper has only one bolt retaining to the bracket at each side of front. My 1970 240Z's bumper has only one bolt for each side of front. This is original bumper but slightly bended by an accident long time ago. If yours has only one bolt,I am very very interested in it. Thank you, kats
  20. Andrew, Thank you information,I want to see the web.BTW,I won the ebay for 1970 bridgestone 175SR14!!It is just a begining,I have to collect at least 3 tires more(I wish 4 more for complete) If feasible, please show me yours some day. Ben, I am also wondering when nissan went to rubber hoses.I was surprised a week ago,I ordered some hoses telling them 1970 parts number, some are rubber ones came out but a few cloth-braided ones came out. They still do reproduction of braided hoses. And I am also wondering original 240Z is equipped braided hoses for all the hoses?I will say NO,to see engine room,I think only 2 hoses for emission contorol system(air pomp)are not braided ones. I bought these 2 new air pomp hoses last year, and I was thinking these might be braided type. But I checked 1970 service manual, there is a photo focusing on emission systems and I can see the hose is not braided one.Looks same as I bought last year. What do you all think of it? kats
  21. Joseph, Thank you for hose information, this summer vacation I will trip to somewhere, Hawaii or Canada or Australia. It depens on how much my wife and kids are interested in visiting. If we go to AUS,I will see auto parts surplyer and see those braided hoses. billramsey2002, I have done replacement for all clamps including fuel "rare"clamps. Thank you, but I do not need to get extra right now. The old ones which you can sell are for fuel tubes? Like this? Please see this photo.I cleaned them then applyed for fuel tubes. kats
  22. Hi Carl, The part number is 18762-H7900. Does anyone know what car's part number is used staring from "Hxxxx"? kats
  23. mdbrandy, Yes, the sign on the tapet cover is Mr.Matsuo's.And Mr.Katayama also singed next to him,but it is fading almost disapearing. They signed in Feb 2000 during visiting to the factory"ULTIMATE".My Z was under restoration, the shop owner TETSU intorduced my Z's engine to Mr.Matsuo and Mr.Katayama. gema, When you come to Tokyo, please let me know. Are you studying at an university? I can imagine your pain for apart from your Z. dadds, Thank you,I have known Mike McGinnis since 2000.Yes he is a great parts surplyer and his products are very impressive.I bought some from him.I was wondering why "vintege Z proguram"ended very short period. They ununced they would produce 200 restored 240Z cars at the beginig. At least 5 vintege 240Z cars were sold to japanese owners. #1 a red 1970 240Z(date 01/70 vin some 600s I forgot, still selling aprox. $5300 U.S.!!) #2 a gold 1970 240Z(date 04/70 vin some 3000s I forgot) #3 a silver 1970 240Z(did not check vin) #4 a silver 1970 240Z(only saw in a magazine) #5 a blue 1972 240z(only saw in a magazine) kats

  25. Hi dk240z, Oh yes,I would like to try "talking Z 24hours marathon". My wife has been already angry about my 240Z hobby, sunny days working for my Z and rainy days infront of my computer watching this site. I have a good excuse"I am talking and learning english with worldwide nativespeekers." Thank you 240 in OZ,the braided hose is sold in the store? looks a little bit dark as you mentioned but braided style is now rare,it is worth to buy. I have just revised my web page, http://www.geocities.jp/datsunz240zsports/keycilinder.html About key cylinder. kats
