I just finally got my issue on Monday. It's also nice to point out this is Nissan Sport's 13th issue too. haha Will he ever sell it? Maybe the owner should take it to Barrett Jackson and roll the dice!!

Kats, I'm glad you didn't sell you Z's. I have been following your builds for years and it would have been a waste to see them go after all that. From what I have read on the other forum he seems like a nice guy and I wish I had 1/3 of his payroll to afford just one, three is a little greedy! I could only imagine however, there are some guys on Ebay that are trying to get $20K-$40K for C10, GC10, GC110. For a comparison, I paid $6K for my S46 4-door GC10 in Okinawa back in 1997. I guess today's dollar for what these "registered importers" are asking is fair? If I could ask what is the going rate for a nice PS30, KPGC10 and KPGC110 compared to a S30, GC10 and GC110? Do you add $20K-$30K to add the P or KP code to the VIN? From his other pics they are plated in Utah.

Fred, I wish I could have been on that trip with you. As a side note not a 432-R but a PS30 is now in the states. Tom over on Japanese Nostalgic Car Forum imported one to go with his KPGC10 and KPGC110. More pics: http://picasaweb.google.com/xs10shl

HLS30-00003 has just been found!!!!!!!!!! stand by for the pictures to load.... ok fine this is not a true statement, so everyone please start to breathe again. I just read through both threads and I guess I can sleep better now. I am going to stay neutral like the Swiss as I have nothing informative to add other than some late night humor. I will be honest, as I wiped the sleep out of my eyes I felt like the fat school kid getting slapped around by the "cool" people. Long live #13...I mean the Z... nite brothers
  13. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120467058762&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123#ht_500wt_975 So I noticed this rusty (being generous) 240Z for sale on ebay "number 300 of 500 made" as the seller states. Out of pure curiosity I asked the seller a question: Ok thanks for answering my question somewhat. Let me try again and throw some b.s. in there to see if he is a Z guy. Holy crap I have half the questions answered, now we are getting somewhere one more attempt at basic Ebay buyer questions. WOW I don't understand some people. Hell it could be #13....well no...ahem.... I mean it could be #3 for all we know. Why the big secret? I felt like saying how do you expect to sell it if you don't want to give the entire VIN out??
  14. This one claims to have 3200 miles and is the original owner. Here is the ad in case the posting gets deleted. http://baltimore.craigslist.org/cto/1328627739.html It seems like more and more 10th AE low mileage are coming out. Does anyone know this person?
  15. Hi Everyone, I have been working with this company called The Twisted Piston and its owner Mr. Keith Krekel (member TwistedPiston) on having a few shirts made up for myself. He already sells a Datsun Competition Parts t-shirt on Ebay from time to time and has different old school Hot Rod t-shirts as well. I had a few ideas of some different t-shirts that I would like to have of my own since I have searched high and low and no one is really making t-shirts for our hobby specifically, and after a few email exchanges Mr. Krekel agreed. I have come up with these t-shirt designs. Small Datsun image on the front breast with a Datsun Competition image on the back. "The Twisted Piston Design" Small Datsun image on the front breast with a Bob Sharp image on the back. Bob Sharp on the front or back. Nissan Prince Tokyo Dealership image on the front breast and Sport Corner R "early incarnation of NISMO" on the back. Nissan Prince Tokyo Dealership image on the front or back. Sport Corner R image on the front or back. ________________________________________ Group Buy Order Details: This is a Group Buy for a minimum of 35 shirts from each design. Here are the Group Buy terms that Mr. Krekel agreed to in order to make this happen: • 1-3 Shirts, any color, any size, any design $20.00 SHIPPED each in the U.S.A. • 4-8 Shirts add $5 to the total • International Buyers please contact him for a shipping quote. ________________________________________ Non-Group Buy Order Details: If the Group Buy doesn't work out the prices for the shirts will be as follows: • 1-3 Shirts, logo front/design back, white or gray only, any size $24.00 each SHIPPED in the U.S.A. • 1-3 Shirts, any one design, front or back, white or gray only, any size $22.00 each SHIPPED in the U.S.A. • 4-8 Shirts add $5 to the total • International Buyers please contact him for a shipping quote. ________________________________________ Specifications: • Here are the design examples grouped together. • Here are the 18 different shirt colors available in the Group Buy. • According to Mr. Krekel the shirts are "Hanes Beefy-T, 6.1 oz, 100% pre-shrunk, ring spun cotton, double-needle cover seamed neck, double-needle sleeve and hem. I found these shirts to be nice and thick and of great quality." • Sizes are from: Small - XXLarge. If anyone has additional designs or images that you would like to have Mr. Krekel make please deal with him outside of this Group Buy for those shirts. ________________________________________ Ordering Process: Step 1: Please respond back for now with ONLY the quantity and design that you would like. Examples: • 1 Bob Sharp Front • 1 Bob Sharp Rear • 1 Datsun/Bob Sharp Front/Rear • 1 Datsun Comp • 1 Nissan/Sport Front/Rear • 1 Nissan Front • 1 Nissan Rear • 1 Sport Front • 1 Sport Rear Step 2: NO money will need to be sent until the minimum number is reached for each design. Once the minimums have been met, you will be given a link and a special Group Buy Code to place your order and make payment. Payments will be made securely through PayPal. There is no need for you to have a PayPal account. If you commit please be patient until the number is reached. If people start to fall off it will only drag this out longer. ________________________________________ I am passing this on to you my friends and I vouch for Mr. Krekel's customer service and workmanship I've seen thus far which has been excellent. I am not making any profit from this what so ever. I thought why not share this with my friends in this great hobby and lifestyle of ours. I would think others would do the same for me. This Group Buy will also be posted on japanesenostalgiccar.com, ratsun.net and classiczcars.com websites. Please feel free to pass the word along in our community. Thanks,

    Kats, Any update?
  18. I agree. I was searching SSR and it came to that page.
  19. While searching for wheels for my Datsun 810 I came across this. Just wanted to pass it along. $8K http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=146445&highlight=ssr
  20. I had the same thing happen to me years back. Dust builds up in the contacts within the turn signal switch. Disassemble the steering column and clean the contacts with compressed air (low psi) or canned air. The dust builds up and the contacts will burn the dust within it. Good luck!
  21. Yasin from hybridz posted it originally. I'm gonna bring it over here for all to see. I also found this link and it's in English: http://jalopnik.com/cars/retro/open-sesame-warehouse-opening-in-portugal-reveals-forgotten-collection-231918.php

Yes every Z is worth restoring at some point. Being that this is a low vin you have to ask yourself how far are you willing to go and the most important how much $$$ you want to invest. Budget wisely or you'll end up like half of us on the board. Keep us posted. I see there is one bid so far. Good Luck!!
  23. Dan Banks asked me to post this here, as he is not a member (yet) but soon will be. Anyways here's his comments: The story behind Datman is that Fred Jordan, General Manager of Escondido Datsun (a part of the Art Lemke group of Datsun Dealerships in San Diego) decided to initiate a campaign circa 1970 with his advertising manager to put their dealership in the map. They wanted a way to advertise their dealership and offered $1000 to whichever grade school student could come up with the winning idea. One little girl did, having observed the Batman craze of the late 1960s and saying to use the same idea but with the name “Datman.” They gave her $1000 and had a local artist make up the prototype Datman (which I have in my collection along with a few originals, I have owned 3 others but gave them all away as gifts). Actually, I bought my first Datman when I saw it on eBay circa October 2002. It was how I first came to know Fred. Fred Jordan comes to all the Z Conventions, owns a 1980 10th AE Gold/Black 280ZX, and is devoted to all the old crowd surrounding the Datsun (Usami-san, John Parker, Johnnie Gable, Robert Link the NMC vp under K). I believe that Mad Mike told me to contact him because I had asked Mike about Escondido Datsun (I too was also unable to locate it. Don’t remember that story off top of my head but I think that they closed Escondido and merged back into one of Lemke’s other dealerships by the early 1970s). I have saved all the emails with Fred and during the period November to December 2002 Fred filled me in on the details. Datman became a comic strip like advertisement campaign. There were Datman, Datwoman, Datboy, and Datgirl comic strip characters. If you bought a Z you got a Datman and they had contracted for 1,000 of the little coin banks. Today it represents one of the nicer pieces of authentic American Datsun dealer memorabilia you can find. Presumably many of them were broken over time but the ones in my collection weathered well. The one up on eBay right now is clearly authentic and looks to be in good condition. They are made out of a hard synthetic material. Mr. K actually quite fell in love with them and offered to buy the entire campaign from Fred but it was no dice. Escondido had business cards made up for their sales staff with the Datman image, made up pens and pencils with the image. Usual stuff that a dealership does with a campaign. I obtained a second Datman on ebay and mailed that to Fred as a gift. Though I had been speaking with him about the campaign, and he knew that I had one of his little guys, it was the first time he actually held one of them since the very early 1970s. Turns out it arrived on his birthday that year, January 14th. (Fred will turn 85 on January 14, 2007). These days I always forward the eBay “sightings” of more Datman to him and we keep track. I no longer bid on them. Depending on who is in the running, a Datman in good condition will sell from $75 to $125. The one on eBay right now is ahead of market at opening bid and extreme at the Buy it Now price. It is being offered by a savvy and long time eBay seller using a lot of hype. See his other items, such as the Speedy Alka Seltzer coin bank. He uses much the same textual description. I would avoid telling this seller anything about Datman. He probably does not care and is simply interested in finding the highest buyer. Wait till he re-lists it at a price you or someone else in the Z community believe to be fair and go for it. For anyone who does buy this Datman, let me know and I will arrange to have Fred Jordan sign and date it for you! Best regards and safe driving to all. Dan Banks, Ellicott City, Maryland. Let us know what you find....
  25. Thanks daddz. I purchased her from Mark Lambert President of the Maryland Z Club back in 1999. He purchased it from the original owner whose name slips my mind at the moment. She had typical wounds of an ex auto cross racer: hood pins holes, valence panel kill switch, right fender mirror, rear hatch tie down, spoiler and roll bar holes. No rust, solid body. I am currently building a L28ET with Ross Pistons, Pauter Rods, custom intake/exhaust manifolds and TEC 3. Once all the fabrication is completed with the engine I plan on painting her back to her original 901. Here is a lousy photo of when I bought her circa 1999 and her current state:
