New Fujitsubo Exhaust System to be Released
Sound(noise for those that don’t like petrol!) isn’t rpm dependent. i guess they took a 70’s design, took some more modern thinking, ran numerous versions on a dyno, looked as how packaging effected output, also build cost, then picked something that left the finance department happy while offering a packaging and performance improvement. It’s quite a change from the cheaper/older version you can get(which I don’t know why people still buy).

Single pipes are cheaper and easier to make. I’d say cheaper to understand also. did you go back and look at the fujitsubo info they give, where they compare new against old design of full systems? Id wager it still won’t fit round the larger tractor diffs.

Sean, all the info is in front of you, fujitsubo have put up graphs of its old system vs the new one. It’s more than a better fitting system, it’s better performing. With data. They make no suggestion it fits bigger diffs, it’s just better packaged/designed overall. im comparing il6’s, even the 2.0 -2.8 none motorsport have duel pipes.

I’m not sure off hand. I’m not sure why you say ‘scaled up’ they’re just mentioning the Jdm market cars they’re for. Regsrding the US importer, that’s their own issue. so given that they have them on one of the greatest performance IL6’s ever made, which range from 3.0 to 3.2 ltrs, you cant say they don’t work. bar spirit garage/nissan/ fujitsubo, I’d argue others aren’t doing them as it’s harder to fit and package properly. Hence the newer fujitsubo that also offers more performance vs the older design also. Nothing at all to do with ‘scalability’.

That’s on 3.0/3.2 ltr na engines.

Whys that? Works for bmw on the s50 Range. That’s over 100bhp per ltr. That alone should tell you it works, it’s half a Maclaren f1 engine. Good enough for Nissan’s period race cars too.

They're lovely looking headers, lovely gentle bends. I like the welded sections, looks more 'serious' and bespoke. I can remember it looked a nice fit under HS-30H's lovely ZG.

Datsun-240z Vs Fairlady-z432
I don't know. It took me a year ish to convince the previous owner to sell me these I think that they're rare, one other set in the UK that I know of, seem to be on a few 432's in Japan. I'm not sure of overall production numbers though. Maybe Alan could pen his thoughts. A set of Kobe Seiko would finish my shoe collection for the car. however I need to get the car done to make use of any.

Beautiful wheels there. Its a hard colour to replicate. Sorry for the thread drift. The middle colour of the 3 wheel pics is what i'm leaning towards, an anthracite colour.

Datsun-240z Vs Fairlady-z432
Hi Central 20's, one of the only proper period items I own. I'm in love with them! On the Amelia Island 423 On Top gear in the UK, fitted to 432's at TA auto's also.

Thank you. I've been struggling to find the perfect colour.

Do you know the colour code of the cover? I'd like to try it on a wheel, think it'd look nice against 918.

Finally got one...now to make it mine: 1973 240z Refresh / Personalisation
Did your importer offer the newer one? I'm trying to work out the design changes that result in the power bump v's the older one. Looks good.

Did you go for the newer version of the exhaust, its suppose to make a chunk more power and fit closer to the car.

They both look great. Lovely welds on the exhaust. Please don't dip the rocker cover, just leave it as it is

On the hunt for a Datsun Competition headrest
Yes, I'll be seeing Alan shortly so will ask his opinion. Part of me likes parts that aren't freely on the market, as if they're too common it ruins a bit of the allure.

Great looking seats. Shame I can't find any decent replicas around. some of the modern copies just seem to be lacking something.

More 432-R than a few 'real' 432-R's I expect.

Triple carb airboxes/heat shields
I'd also question how much dyno R+D was done on the tapered box...... bet it was equal to not much at all.
