  1. As a glacial update..... life has got in the way over the past few years, the below brings me to where I'm at.... Disc bells and brackets designed painted up the front panel 'factory style' had the radiator treated to a triple pass copper core. had a bit of a faff getting the finish correct on it. got there in the end. fitted the rear bumper antagonised over seats for a few years(Sorry Alan T!). However using one of his pics I managed to get something made in the same sort of 'feel'. The dream What I ended up with
  2. What do you think it was off? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/275438320845?mkevt=1&mkpid=0&emsid=e11051.m43.l1123&mkcid=26&ch=osgood&euid=afbf6e97e13f4074a0304a0b8539e8b7&bu=43141204892&osub=-1~1&crd=20220904121555&segname=11051
  3. Hi, yes, it fits into the standard housing. They're being made to with the correct material by a company that only makes steering racks and parts.
  4. a smaller wheel doenst alter the geometries, just the lever effort.
  5. As above these are for LHD racks. I wasn't altering physics, just pointing out its the same ratio as used in other markets of the car where they sold a more 'sporting' setup. My 'none' answer was just that its nothing really to worry about, i'm not a fan of power steering, especially these generic kits, just removing the feel that you get with a classic setup. Its not just about speeding up the rack, its about regaining feel thats been lost from 50 years of use. i'm not aware of anyone offering forged steering arms, can you offer a link?
  6. no, the ratio is changed. Unless you're suggesting the Americans were judged to have weak arms by the Japanese in the 60's and that's the reason they got such 'soft' cars?
  7. just for info, the US market cars were the softest/most dumbed down of all the global range, this is a key part in bringing it 'upto spec'.
  8. Hi all I've been trying to find a source for LHD steering rack bars and pinions, I'm having a batch made here in the UK, they're about 11% quicker than the racks in US spec cars, effectively bringing them to a euro spec 'quick rack'. prices are in £240+vat. Thats for a new rack bar and pinion. if you'd like one, as there's an minimum order, i'd have to get a deposit(50%) as I don't want to end up with a garage full of rack bars! Most of the racks i've had apart have shown wear/loose spots on. Any interest on here?
  9. yes it will fit as long as you've got an r180 diff still.
  10. Thanks, yes I can see the change. I'd like a set of Magnesium wheels.
  11. Great post, any reason you can see for the changes? looks like the profile on the radius ins't the same also?
  12. The design was ‘designed’ to be in magnesium, so it might not be as bad as you think. I would be genuinely interested. what I might do is wait till you’ve made some, then wait to get some of mr desert at half price from your castings and development 😂
  13. Yep, I have a mindset where i'm happy for me not to have them, also would prefer them not to be real 'open market'. To me, they're more likely to hit the right cars, with the right overall feel. those that search them out, originality. I can enjoy them from a distance. I'm fortunate enough to have a couple of sets nice wheels, it'll have to stop there unless I ever found an original ZG, at which point I know what wheels I'd like that.
  14. Morning Sean. A) i don’t think we have Worked out the quality, they have testing marks on but is that a testing certificate you own or the original developers? You say to the same quality as m speed? I’m not saying they’re not, however how do you know they are? What is the quality of m speeds? to some of your other points, I DO NOT own a set of these wheels, so me wanting some special parts to stay special, it’s just that. You just fundamentally do not get ‘it’. I haven’t got the cash to buy originals, the 15x7 upsized repro’s, it’s not about money. the focus of money only belongs to one person on this thread when I see these wheels on a number more Cars each year, the curb appeal does drop as it’s not so unusual. I fear it’s a following of fashion and what a few think they should have/like.
  15. imagine if we all drove Lamborghini's, the curb appeal would drop massively
  16. Sean, when I say it de values the parts, what I mean has nothing to do with monetary value.
  17. I'm totally transparent about the fact there's a few parts I do not want to see mass produced, these being maybe one of 4 parts. I've not been able to 'afford' a set before, now given the costs and supply volume, why are they more than a set of rota wheels? Only questioned the quality as you said 'of the same quality', I stupidly thought they'd all be falling out of the same factory. I'm possibly wrong but there's no such thing as z432-r versions, as they came with skinny little steel wheels? Typo on my part saying 15x7, I meant 14x7. although if you look into the history, there's some 15" replicas around. what do the 14x7 versions weigh? i'd guess using crude maths at over 7kg?
  18. I think its such an interesting project. I did think there'd be more support for it in the US, given its history, its virgin status and what people pay for a valve cover!!
  19. Certainly is a slight movement from a few weeks ago when not knowing which wheel was which. Are you selling both versions? how much do the 15x7 versions weigh? Are these through the 'Bulgarian connection'? What size are they ? you say 14x5.5 above but x7 in the pic? I guess you could try and cover yourself and say "for display purposes only"? "These wheels are of the same quality as those offered for sale by M-Speed "? so are they not made by the same factory as M speed? Or a copy of the copy of the copy?
  20. any factually accurate post seems to get removed. what we should do, is have 5-10 of us 'report' every 'Larry' and '240zguild' post. that would stop their dire use of our range of cars to line their pockets.
  21. I think its a sensible price. actually, very sensible.
