  1. yes, buying cars, then 'swapping back', constant messages about spending 'free money' on them due to increasing values. I'd love to play poker against those two.
  2. Again, I feel for the seller as there's a few people on there trying to create themselves as the focal point for all things 'Z'. It goes to show just how people believe what they read on line and how when a collective get together it can become the norm. Not to mention the endless advertising that one of the posters does.
  3. Given that there wasn't a set way of doing it in the factory, all of it limited/chosen by human hand, there's no 'Right or wrong'.
  4. so its just a car from a car 'shop' that did restore cars?
  5. Strange one, so nissan 'sanctioned' 37, surely this just makes this a car that was built by the same people? same as if they built one now? Also given the others were 'standard', this seems to be nothing other than a shop special?
  6. A few point mr HS30-H 1) Please never sell the 432r 'recreation' 2) Can I go on the list, even if its just to say "I can't afford it' 3)That 'vz' car is in my top 5 all time fav's!!
  7. I can say with complete confidence that Aston did their own recreations before 2014, I think there were some at Goodwood when I use to work there(2009-12), also that they started doing them in the late 80's, however the early ones were for racing i know. What I don't get/trust is some on the BAT thread. Every factually correct post gets removed, people trying to pass on their own version of facts as correct for their own agendas. Not to mention all the sellers in the threads saying i've sold x for $$$$$$ off here trying to artificially increase prices.
  8. interesting chat again. Its a bit of a 'bully' setup on there. People who really do not understand the cars and the wider model range, speaking about stuff like its correct and flaming others who normally are more factually correct.
  9. Has the new owner been here yet to have a look at the interesting threads about the car?
  10. The other great thing about bring a trailer is that all the interesting comments get marked as 'not constructive' and removed. Also the seller and direct the conversation, looks like it happened quite a bit on there.
  11. Glad my sarcasm came through ?
  12. Based on reports Fender/hood/cowl/battery tray area all replaced inner wheel well andFirewall and frame rail damaged. I'd guess that the BAT seller told the buyer and/or disclosed this in the auction?
  13. Thats correct. The 'guild' were just the flippers.
  14. how much were they? Looks like they've just put their price up?
  15. I think it was the bronze bearing 'picking up' inside, or the small crack caused the bronze bearing to move/split which added to it.
  16. yes Alan-T had some spares, once I'd found the mustache bushings.
  17. The worlds slowest car build has had some progress. 1st off, its off its wooden dolly, the one that was suppose to be for 3 months, lasted 6.5 years. I put it on the suspension mounting points so couldn't bolt anything to it. I was fortunate enough to have tracked down all the correct moustache bar parts, with a little help. Had to make a former to make the ends correct. Subaru 4.44 plated r180. Had it apart and checked bearings and wipe pattern, all perfect. I'd like to use bolts instead of the studs though for the rear mounts, can't see why not? All the rear end is now in place(chassis stuff). Rear suspension is now on. I've just gone for new rubber bushings everywhere. I need to check with with Ad at VA motorsport exactly how the suspension tops go together in the car, its intrax suspension with VA's road/rally topmounts. Theres little adapters/spacers. I can't work out if they go on the underside or inside. Nothing is torqued down yet, i've ordered a few replacement bolts for ones i've lost. I've got to do a bit of stonechip on the front rails under the engine. Not looking forward to that. Knackered steering rack doesn't please me. Some pretty things put back on..... Firewall insulation cut rearlights and panel
  18. I could do, Although I think i'll source another rack. @Patcon Thanks for the thread link, great thread.
  19. this is what I spotted.... Which is this Looks like the bronze bearing had moved Which would have been caused by this hairline crack I cut the end off to press the bearing out once the crack was found.
  20. Thanks for that, so this car wouldn't have been marked down for the bits that aren't 'correct' or missing? I must point out, I think that this is a great car, just not 125k great!
  21. How does all this 'gold medallion' stuff work? is i just based on the quality of its restoration? There's lots of amazing restorations around, none factory perfect but more than comparable.
  22. Thank you. can you link to your thread please?
