  1. you learn something new everyday. Thanks gents.
  2. Question about the glass, was it factory standard on 1969 cars? Or Just one they didnt put the demist/heat track on?
  3. They are great looking wheels. Hope you manage to get your set sorted. Dream wheels for sure. At one point I thought an Italian company did something very very similar but I can't find any details.
  4. on the datsun europe group(facebook) there's a guy who has chassis number 23 and a few others.
  5. shouldn't it have had the dawin cruise control option(fast idle) fitted?
  6. As a thread update, I wasn't happy with some parts of the paint, just some of the finish. Next week its off have the engine bay media blasted to bare metal then a general going over. I've been spending the past year researching and collecting parts to put it together. I'd like it rolling in the next 3 months. These should help Nice long springs, full stroke dampers, all just nicely done. The suspension is one area i'm really worried about as it will make the car, I value the feel and handling over anything else. It was lots of research and traveling to see various companies/options. For me intrax from VA motorsport was the best option as a higher quality, tested and proven setup. very high quality dampers. https://www.va-motorsport.com/ http://en.intraxracing.nl/merken/datsun/datsun-240z-260z-280z-(nissan-fairlady-z)/dat5503rsa/
  7. Thanks, any profile shots? what size tyres?
  8. Hi Has anyone got a pics of pics of 60 and 65 profile tyres on an s30? I can't work out what profile to go for. 195 60 or 16 for a 14" wheel. Thanks.
  9. Lovely pictures and details. Thanks for posting.
  10. Yes, i'm going for a very bumpy cam.
  11. Hi, Yes, I guess there's options to take it further if needed. I don't want massive power, 150bhp at the wheels, more importantly a light feeling/revvy/fun engine. I'll be running a 4.44 LSD and 5 speed gearbox.
  12. average price just under 500$. It'll only go lower.

  14. in which way? what compared to what?
  15. Sorry, they look like exactly the same forging/design. either way, they seem to work great.
  16. I'm guessing those rods are the same as the ones on eBay at $350 a set? They're being used on lots of engines now. looks like a tasty build.
  17. As above, I'm 100% keeping the original block.
  18. Hi, yes, my odd piston height/rod combo moves things in my favour. Given the lightweight nature of the build I'm not worrying about it bein lazy to rev. We've all seen how fast a nicely built 3.2ltr motor will pickup and that's got the longest stroke.
  19. I have read about that way of doing it.i like it just because it's an alternative approach. that said, I'm dead set on using the original block.
  20. I've just about finished the jigsaw of my engine. I want to keep the original block.... I'm looking at original 240z block 280z crank 1mm over bore Forged pistons (35.1mm pin height) forged rods to suit above e31 head hard valve seats with larger valves Schneider 290f or 300f Triple carbs/proper ignition and valve/cam timing hardware/6 branch manifold. should give 2627cc, compression ratio of about 10.5:1 I've not got a damper yet, any opinions? Has anyone got the above sort of setup? how does it feel? I'm not after all out bhp, just a fun feeling engine that likes to rev. any pitfalls?
  21. Yes, one came up in the UK. another piece of the puzzle!
