  1. The history is quite a bit more vague than the scarabs. They didn't make 74 cars, the company that now owns the name is hoping to try and cash in on it, with a dubious start. Some of the cars were nothing more than a set of triples and wheels. There's 3 or 4 with good history(big sam), the rest are without it(69 cars and counting) Some cars called samurais are not classed as so by the guy that came up with the concept, theres more cars being added to the register each year. Theres no set spec, no set design, no set anything.
  2. thats the full problem there. you can tell the little gangs, the seller of that car(240guild) seems to comment on every 240 sale, even advertising the totally distasteful cars hes planning on making on other car threads. Its a playground for those who like to bully.
  3. There seems to be a little gang of people on there who act like bullies and get aggressive if others ask questions. Hope BAT can sort this out with some fair moderation.
  4. the guy selling it has to comment in a negative way on every 240z listed on BAT. fact is theres lots of details wrong, he doesn't like it. tough titty really.
  5. Nicely done. 4.44 for the total win though ?
  6. Hi Mr CO. Its 10000000000% not on the road. ? However did make a some shims that 'fixed the issue, I might check the new bearings size against the old though(annoyed I didn't think of that before). Stub axles are run true in the bearings, its just that they bind when torqued up. Reading the above, it seems the new Timken bearings could be the issue? I might make a new distance piece for the centre of the hub and then its a single shim for the outside...... Bloody annoying really.
  7. with my chosen 918 its only really black that suits, or those Ikeda Bussan race seats in the blue/grey.
  8. could you have requested any colour out of the catalogue then Alan?
  9. As i've said before Kats, this is such a gem of a thread to the forum.
  10. how did you get on? whats the 0.50 duration of that cam?
  11. Thats a lovely build there. He builds the best L series in the world though(probably!). I'm +3mm pistons(29mm pin) 280 crank 140mm rods so a lot more conventional.
  12. The curse of keeping the original block! Yes seen that one... just no more!!
  13. Has anyone got any links to any good 2.7(ish) engine builds? I'm going the hard way about it(140mm rods etc) however looking forward to having something a little from the norm. I've got the last few bits on the way now so would like some interesting reading/research.
  14. I don't see how your car would be the perfect choice, you've large wheels, small tyre profile, hard bushings everywhere and used springs.
  15. Apologies, I got mistaken with the guy who built something in tribute to it and plastered it on facebook etc.
  16. its a 1970 car, just maybe registered in 1971. Its birth was 1970.
  17. its a 1970 build. final 1970 cars were around 18000ish?
  18. What spec springs are these designed to work with? The softer/long US market springs?
  19. Are they the ones from Japan or Thailand for $450?
