ok. motivation is back! even with a cold, i went and stripped brake caliper and painted it, finished painting strut, finally found the other tension rod, painted it, cut a stock spring down so i whack it in temporarily and started figuring out the order of all the bushes etc. after seeing prices of some spares, i quite enjoy looking at my stockpile ive got 8 tail lights, 5 garnishes, 3 dashes, 15 door trims etc haha Next is to get the other side strut done then once its back rolling, start doing rear brakes

least it gets people thinking 240ks are worth alot

You hope with the sa car, the people bidding have checked car in person and not by description. I bought mine off eBay without looking and had body work and in undercoat so was hoping it was as description said and it was. But that was 3 grand not almost 10!! And looking at the Alice car, is it just me or do door n guards look different colour to rear quarters. And there's rust coming through and looks like there's been damage and painted over on doors and driver rear quarter :/

had a feeling the adelaide one would be rough. i emailed him back when he advertised all those parts and never got a reply. would be good start to rub it all back and have all the spares. similar to what ive got at the moment definatly closely watching these latest 2 to see what they go for. The one in alice would be a good buy! 10600 already tho! really hope it doesnt go overseas

Sounds good mate. I was in a similar boat. First one I got was advertised with minimal rust, and i hassled the guy to buy it. when I started taking paint back she was rooted. They are definatly one of the rustiest cars I've come across! Will be worth it in the end!

I use chemsearch rust converter liquid that you wipe on with rag or a brush. Works really well! It's expensive but it does it's job

They look good nod, what are the details of your upgrade?

It was meant to be just the threaded sleeve but still didn't fit. I'm keen to try a sleeve kit seems like a cost effective coilover. But I'd like to upgrade brakes too

Has anyone done a coil over conversion and is it difficult. I have the larger diameter 240k brakes. So was looking at the hilux/magna setup. I've read a couple threads on it but none were a straight answer on what caliper and disk off what model etc. Cheers Terry

Definatly worth the extra grand for the sedan haha I'm over the moon that I paid less than what they want for the pile of rust, and my body works all been done, all new nolathane, glass, whole spares car etc :laugh:

HAha last clip of guy doing skids with no dash. What do they do to their motors? Other than a damn rev limiter which they seem to love! Surely they ain't stock motors.

Not a big update. I'm currently painting my front struts and bits to put the front end together. I have a workshop manual on the way. And something interesting, looking through my paperwork I found this, seems a doctor originally bought my other shell
