  1. I have a 1977 280z and i am looking to either fix or replace my eyeball end vents in the dash. They both have the chrome wrap peeling off of the plastic. Does anyone know where i can buy new ones? MSA only sells for the 1970-73. Or does anyone know of any places or the type of place that will "rechrome" it? I live in Las Vegas and have called around, but it seems like everyone says they cannot rechrome them. Ive been calling rechroming shops. Am I calling the wrong people? Thanks.
  2. So in lieu of any one having an answer to this, can someone post some pics of the Motorsport Auto carpet installed in their 75/76 280z. I am looking for pics of front, middle and rear. Thanks.

Any updates on anyone adding a 7 inch touchscreen? single din or double din. I was thinking about doing something similar but have no idea what model stereo to use or what modifications might be necessary. Pics would be great too, especially if you had to modify.
  4. I own an early 1977 280z - the one with the sloped rear deck. I wanted to drop the rear cargo deck to make more space in the back. I have found a thinner replacement spare to fit the shallower area. I also plan on removing the braces that are welded to the floor that hold the rear deck up along with the long brace that stretches the width of the car at the front edge (by the seats) of the rear deck. Next I was planning to buy some 1/4inch or 1/2 inch MDF and create a new floor to compensate for the structural ridges that were added in the '77 & '78 280z (not found in the '75). I was planning on cutting a few pieces of MDF to make the floor level with the top of the aforementioned ridges (no MDF on top of the ridges). My question is this: If i were to buy a carpet kit from MSA, what year would i need and would this work with a normal tail light panel? I'm thinking the 74-76 molded carpet kit since I know the 75 had a flat deck that had carpet on the metal while the 77 and 78 were both raised to accommodate the higher spare due to the larger gas tank. This should help it match the cutout of the shock towers as well as the tail light cover in the back (that i would like to add). Can anyone verify this? Also, how is the quality of these kits? Should i just invest the money instead with a custom upholstery shop?
  5. I was looking into buying the one piece rear bumper for my 280z. Any word if they fixed this wideness issue. I measured the width of my car (thats the width of my car) to be 139.38cm at the point where to big ugly 280z bumper tip is. Harrington group told me the distance from the tip to tip of their bumper is 149.5cm. That is a 4inch difference. Anyone have thoughts on this? (my measurement may not be perfect too as i do not have the 240z bumpers to tell where the tip should line up.) Thanks
