  1. My son stopped driving it when a loud knocking sound was heard when the car was idling in neutral and the clutch was not engaged. A friend who knew Zs said it was likely the throwout bearing.
  2. We have a 1983 280 ZX (naturally-aspirated) with about 180K miles on it, not currently running. It has a 5-speed stick, leather/embossed suede interior, electronic dash, T-tops. I needs restoration. The exhaust manifold has a crack and we have a replacement used part for it. It sounds like a throw-out bearing needs to be replaced. The clutch is new. Body is straight but needs paint. All the glass is intact and not leaking. The car is nearly all-original, including the wheels, and has always been in California. Can anyone give us a ballpark figure or what it's worth? Thanks everyone! -Louie
