tick tick tick
Hello Z freaks the name is cardogman and I have yet another problem. I need a diagnosis. Here goes. Last week I had Tokicos installed . I don't know whether this sound was occuring before or after the installation. This what I here inside the vehicle and if I role down the window I seem to here it outside the vehicle sort of near the front drivers side wheel. Tick Tick Ticking. It speeds up when I go faster and it slows down when I go slower. I think I know what it is but I am not sure and it's driving me crazy. It's not very loud. What is the problem? I am cardogman Burt thanks :stupid:

check out these wheels
Bambikiller and Zmefly The Ansens that you posted Z are the ones that I got up on the AKH web site even though they are five bolt pattern he has a set being polished that are 4 bolt. Those wheels are original Ansens. Some are copies. The problem that I have now is that he sent me mail last night informing me that the wheels are 14x6 3/8 the backspacing is 35/16ths and the forward 37/16ths. Do you guys know what he's talking about. I know the size may not fit my 185-70-14 tires 14x7 doesn't fit. Can you tell me if these wheels he has will go on my tires and do I need backspaceers. What a hassle. Burt

check out these wheels
Hello fellas, I mean all of you can't list everyone so this message goes out to everyone who has been involved in my wheel dilemma. Please go to these two places. AKH wheels.com and click any Ansen sprint wheel you can get up. Also go to Boyd Coddington wheels you can put that in as keyword and click on signature series- classic and tell me what you think of both the ansens and coddingtons the coddingtons are a little out of my price range but the Ansens are $390.00 for a set of four which I thought are pretty good and he is polishing a 14x6 set now for me to look at. Let me know what you think thanks Burt:tapemouth

to align or not align
I don't doubt you carl. Delrin is even harder and more brittle we us that material the handles of the instruments to put the Joint replacements in and for the trial or dummy polyethylene sizers. The poly bushings are very popular so they must be good. Regards Burt

to align or not align
got the message 2many I understand as for Gav 240 I think he was asking me but I'm not sure. There is no alignment for the rear end of a 240 or any z car for that matter am I correct 2many? I recently changed the front bushings and used oem rubber. I know a lot about polyethylene we use it in the hip and knee joints that I distribute. Poly is a very hard material and can crack or wear rapidly depending on the quality. I was afraid that I would get to hard a ride so I stuck with what the car was born with. However not to concern Gav or anyone else poly bushings may be fine and behave differently on a car then in a human being. Regards Burt:sick:

to align or not align
Is it always necessary to align after new sruts go in. I'm presently installing tokicos in the 240 and if the car drives straight after I'm done I'd rather not realign. Any feedaback would be appreciated. Burt

wheels
Zmefly and fstr240z Hey how you guys doing. Got your emails. Eric's wheels were sold I spoke with him. I bid on a set of slotteds on that stinkin ebay and I was high bidder. When I went back to the auction 5 minutes before the end they had already cut the auction off and I lost. They are thieves. Well anyway 205 60 14 sound good now I just have to find wheels. Let me know if you know anyone selling nice slotted ones with o offset. Thanks for all your help Burt

wheels
fstr240z Got your posts and thanks. See I agree with you I think the slotted wheels are nicer on a silver car then the panasports. But I would have to get a wider tire. What do you think of Yokohoma 205 60 15 Burt

wheels
This email is for the following individuals and any of the other people that have been involved in helping me make a decision on what I should do about the wheels and tires. You see I'm obsessive and obsessive people can't make there mind up. So I need you folks to push me along Fstr240 Zmefly 2manyZs This is what I'm asking you but first allow me to tell you that it seems as if alot of you think very highly of the panasports. I would consider them if I didn't change the tires because they are new pretty inexpensive and come in a 14x6 with 0 offset. Although I must tell you that slotted wheels I think look better on Z cars. The problem with that is that the slotted mags are not readily available and I would have to go to a bigger tire and then buy wheels from one of you guys and get the caps. You may have wheels in 14x6 in slotted but you know how it is the car is cherry should I start with the polishing and all of that tedious effort and they still won't be perfect. I want a wheel that I can hit the curb with first and screw it up. The panasports don't come in polished aluminum there painted. I don't know I think the polished look is better and chrome is to much contrast. Anyway if you gentleman were in my position and you had a car like mine that really is quite nice and silver. Would you go for larger tires and then have a better selection of slotted wheels. Or would you attemp to keep the car somewhat original leave the same tires on get the panasports. Will there be such a distinct difference in the way the car holds the road and looks with bigger tires. Those are my issues and I'm insane. please respond Burt:stupid:

wheels
You bought that car for a grand what sucker did you con for that car. I looked at the wheels and I want slotted ones but there kind of hard to find. Eric at Zparts .com has a nice pair but if I'm going to keep my new 14s the wheels he has are14x7 and thtires wont fit so I am back to the drawing boards. I didn't see any Americans that fit 14 width wheels and are slotted I'll look again. Talk to you soon and by the way my first z was a 71 in 72 and it was that blue you have with a blue interior. Loved and adored that car and it rusted completely before my eyes. Still think that's the nicest color they produced. Burt:stupid:

changing wheels tires or both
Hi Marty. No, when I bought the car the tires had dry rot from not being driven for 30 years. I replaced the tires with the closest to the original Bridgestone 185-70-14s. The wheels and hubcaps are original if you have any interest in those. The Hubcaps are in very nice condition. But first I have to find some wheels. Keep in touch. Burt

changing wheels tires or both
Hello all of you. Some may have spoke with me some not I am cardogman1. I have this 71 240 as you may know in pristine condition when it starts. I am going crazy about what wheels and or tires or both to get. Presently the vehicle has new 185 70-14 bridgestones very close to original tires. The wheels are original and the hubcaps are also. So this is my question or questions. First should I get different tires. If I do I'm thinking Yokohoma 205 hr60 15. I want the closest thing to original option wheels. Aluminum, polished maybe chrome but that's really not original. They didn't put chrome wheels on z cars in 1971. I'm thinking centerlines. No panasports to hard to clean. Cragers maybe. Can you folks recommend wheels and do you think I should change thtires or keep what I have and instead of getting 15x7s get 14x6s. Did you get all that. Please no new designs that you would see on a cadillac escalade something vintage, muscle that kind of thing.Or should I just leave what I have for total oiginality the problem is they look horrible. Does nothing for the car. Thanks can't wait to hear from you. Burt

z on ebay what do you think
I know what you mean. If you look at that picture it almost looks like a picture on a brochure don't you think. I still thinke it's a pretty nice car however I learned along time ago that you don't but a sports car if it's not a stick unless you can't shift or your missing your right hand.
