Hey thanks for this eye opener, my hood cable is too tight and at times requires some creative moves to make it work. This will be the mod for this weekend , a back up cable, great idea/preventive solution

I checked the archives but did not see the needed info.....Yes my z is a FrankyZvette but a Z no less. I just replaced the A/C compressor, it is a Sanden 508 type unit/very generic, my question is , the shop that did the recharging only put 1.5 lb of the proper freon, the evacuated the system and because there are no specs on the unit they only fill to 1.5 lb , it works but the old noisy unit felt a lot colder, any ideas to make it ice cold :disappoin

Let me bump in................what about that lime green Z,,,,,,,,,no one has mention the Z or not in that super sexy ,no money object car. No one has mention the proper stance on this cars, the tire size and wheels that enhances the look or takes it away. What about the use of after market gauges. The proper steering wheel .The proper muffler tip. Come on Z lover lets do the forum thing

I also did some A/C work on my Z, the compressor was noisy and I found a new replacement unit on Ebay, did the work my self , today on my way to get it charge up at a local shop

Sexy Z, I like the CCW wheels, the head light covers and the naked bumpers

I live in the Baltimore MD and Wash DC corridor , Z's are a rare site , daily I am on Hwy 95 or Rt 50, lots of new iron though

IMO/FWIW,,,,,,,,,,,,,,the Talbot bullet style or the late 70t's Mini Cooper side mirrors are a good alternative, good looks and are period touches. I have seen plenty of old style generic American side mirrors to create a match pair and to me they look crappy :sick:

Nice exchange on the neat sounds emitted by Z's. I will like to know on what a proper stance and tire size does to this marvel of a car, IMO the original stance and the skinny 14'' rubber on the S30 was a bit to 4X4ish .....a close/tight tire gap on all corners wheel wells gives this baby an impacting look, mine has the 16''Panasport's and 225.50 16 tires and to me it is the proper stance.. Interesting point on the sound from my current Z, this morning at the local am coffee car meet, I had several comments on the particular sound she makes, one guy said that it remind him of an old Jag racer, an other mention that it had a very sweet tone like v8 Rover,a very good looking lady mention that it sounds like her ex Aston Martin,a young guy mention that it is not a Chevy roar and one fellow said that she sounds mad and hypnotic ............can we get back to the topic,,,,,,,,,,,,,,what about that lime green Z

Yep...... when you get a tacky remark a tacky response is in order, that seems to be what the f*&k goes on in this place lately ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,FWIW ,when I insured my car, I documented all the work done to it, every part in it, the condition of the car prior to the ''update'', labor cost , recent sales/asking prices from diverse publications,give them parts replacement prices from catalogs and Ebay posts, tons of pictures/videos. They agree on the total cost to duplicate/replace, and my premium is 12 buck's a month,5K miles per yr, pleasure driving only and no race events allowed.
