Thanks, I went with my gut feeling and replaced the fuel filter........she is fine,running like a rabbit in heat.

Alternator installed,,,,,but problem is there,she starts fine, idles fines,drove to store to get my core $ back,she acted again,for a couple of minutes,will not rev over 3thou/rpm's and then back to normal,did this four times during the ride to store and back home,any ideas on her ailment,,,,,,I am frusrtated:cry: ....... BTW this big signature picture will be fixed ....sorry

Last night I picked up the alternator, it is a rebuilt unit made in TN,not a Chinese part with probable quality issues. It is a rainy day here in the Land of Mary, so the install will happen later tomorrow,keep you posted and I cross my fingers in hopes that this will heal ORANGINA.

I am OK also, very happy with my Z and 510.

This 510 is a keeper, they are only original once, as you know it wears it's 918 paint from the assembly plant in Japan, the picture you see is the way she was traded to me,I have done some personal touches to my taste. I added an SSS grill , rear euro lights,euro front marker lights,a roll bar, front strut bar , Recaro type bucket seats and a custom made center console.She runs like a rabbit in heat and handles like she is on rails.

David and I traded cars last summer, he got a new toy to add to his collection , Brockee and Orangina are now my pride possessions.

Values are rising , interest in this nostalgic cars is significant , IMO the fact that a DATSUN Z , a 510 , a Roadster , a 1200 , a 620 mini truck are more affordable in comparison to other brands in this car hobby has made the possibility of ownership a reality.

Yep, one in worst shape sold for more a few days ago,,,,,,,check 510 REALM, and you will see crazy money for this little Datsun's. I love mine, she runs like a rabbit in heat.:cool:Also the 2 door variant are ringing good #'s on Ebay.

I do hope that it is the alternator, it was tested on the running car,with lights and fan on and with them off , the manager at the store is a neighbor a block from my house , after install I will post the results..... btw on the way to the store and back it acted up for a couple of minutes,floor it and back to normal, good girl ,she took me back to her resting pad.

thanks 5th.......the alt/meter is in the + side while running/.pass mid point on gauge.The battery was 3 yrs old and tested as bad.

It is getting warmer here in the Land of Mary.......my Z the other day seemed to running out of juice for a few minutes it struggle acting likes out of gas or electric juice, step on it so it will not die and it went back to normal. On saturday she was dead and a new battery revived her and all back to norm. Today I did an errand some 40 miles, after a short rest for cafe,got on the road and she started to act up,,,,,,felt like running out of gas, carbs not responding, she did not go over 50 mph for 5 miles or so and farted twice, then she went back to normal mode and running fine. The temp this morning was at 69 degrees. Is she having vapor lock issues and it is not boiling hot season yet.Any suggestion on what to do,,,,,,,thanks in advance:disappoin

In Venezuela , Brasil's neighbor , the Datsun brand was not marketed in the 70's or the 80's . The Z and 510 did not exist on their roads. Interesting is that the mid 60's Nissan Patrol was a popular off road wagon used in agricultural terrain ( this had to do with a government subsidized program at the time )and also very popular with the late 60's and early 70's Hippies of the time in Caracas the capital city.

Today ORANGINA (my 72 Z ) did not had a pulse, no juice, did a mini trouble shoot and a new battery was in order, got her back on the road.I know that BROCKEE ( my 72 two door 510 )will have the same health issue soon,the joys in owning 40 yrs young toys:love:
