The 68 RL3 ROADSTER sold for $38,500.00,was not shown on TV......I am on the market for a roadster and I will paint it 918 orange to match my mini DATSUN herd.

Yes it is a big show,big money and BIG time restorations for big pockets , but these venue as well as other auctions are watched by the insurance industry for establishing values,so it has some degree of validity . This old DAT SUN hobby is a money pit , for some of us spending $ under 10k, the low to high teens to the low 20's is justified and for others this is money change.

The gold 79 ZX was the lowest priced car at the auction $2,200.00.....The 68 roadster will be hammer on Sunday.

EBAY...........also known as EBAYMART.,,,has plenty of parts for sale and you can sense the values on tons of Z used parts.

:cool:Prices on the 72 and 73 Z's were in range with NADA values 4k to 23k......the 280's went over NADA max value of 14k and the 510 also went over NADA max value of 7k.

I likes it ....it has the BRE magic.....but yes a bit overpriced.

The last Z at BJ 2012, a red 280 sold for 18k.........

My opinion....unmolested w/period mods 71,72, 73...510 two doors will bring more money than Z's in the near future, not many out there. I own both an orange 72 Cali 240Z and a Cali 72 510 orange two door sedan.

I came across a polished set of zx's wheels and the slots wheels will go on EBAY.

I know the feeling , when I get on my 72 Z with Santana tunes it brings tons of joyful memories. Welcome to the Z addiction site.

This morning I took care of the truck like stick shift , cut 3 inches off and installed a nice vintage MOMO leather euro type shift knob, it seats nice on the boot and matches my vintage MOMO steering wheel and looks , feels, works fantaZtic.

Z Boy......go the CALIFORNIA route .....spend a little more ,even with transport cost it will be less than ru$t repair cost.Good luck on the hunt.

A two door 810 SSS will make a nice addition to my DATSUN herd.....but no space/mula.....too bad....

Thanks for the link.....My 72 Z is not a restore to factory specs and has been refresh with a l260 block,l240 head , 71 SU carbs , interior redone in fabric and vinyl ,the Orange paint is a little brighter than the factory, it has vintage Fairlady Z emblems on the fenders, bullet chrome style side mirrors,a MOMO steering wheel and shift knob, so I think that this unique emblem is a proper add on.

It could also mean SPECIAL SUPER SPORT.....thanks for finding out it's origin ,I think it will give my special to me Z a unique touch.

You guys are the Sherlock Holmes of Z LAND....mystery solved,I kinda like it and being a Nissan/Datsun part it will be attached to the rear spoiler on my Z.

PS...it is a one piece emblem with nice patina , found on EBAY .
