I recently got a new to me 72 Cali Z, it is super clean with very nice upgrades beside its LS1 conversion, I have crazy money in it . So here is my odd situation, at a recent coffee/meet I met a fellow Z nut like my self and he made me a proposal , he wants my super clean euro tail lights, my super nice JDM naked bumpers , my leather Recaro seats and front clear lens turn signals. He will give me his red tail lights in nice shape, the bumpers also in very condition with newly rubber inserts , his factory seats in decent order with good firm foam and the amber front signals. He offer me 2,250.00 cash and help in the swap. This is tempting Your input will be welcome.

I had the same issue with my former Z, I went to a battery store/ they sell industrial / and also work on trucks and passenger cars and they basically made one that look very much as the original, heavy gauge cable and both corrosive resistant ends was 45.00. Check in your locale for this type of shop . Make sure to use a rubber cover for both terminals on battery.

WELCOME to Z land. The pictures on the post are not the best, but the picture with the owner might indicate a fairly described Z, good luck on your hunt Also ask the questions as per above member, hey confess the seller :paranoid: That engine combo on a stoker with minor suspension/brake work IMO is OK :bulb:

Yes I have, also I see the same on a ton of post on this site, I can not help but to brag on this insane , perfect body Z with the engine that Mr. K mention on an interview '' if you had to change/add to your magnificent creation what would that be.....he said MORE POWER'' BTW cars not car.......I have in my driveway a 2012 CTS-V COUPE CADDY, a CHRYSLER 300 SRT8 and my silver 72 Z.

Pictures.....PICTURES....;)The Z guys on this site are more into L engine, stockish type S30, few mods cars but mine is a Classic Nostalgic Japanese Motor Car with an ATTITUDE:cool:The car you mention if it was done properly and not hacked up seems to be a nice find, it will take more than 12k to build one :bulb: The other site is mostly tech/swap,my Z is all done and in pristine condition so this site seems more for the enjoyment of this marvel of a car

No leaks on my former Z with the built L26 or my current Z with it's LS1
  11. Welcome to Z Land.......take your time, look for the best body, rust will eat you wallet.
  12. The b/booster is in the Z, took some minor mods to the pin connector on the pedal to make it fit properly, glad my DATSUN guru had the tools
  13. I just flick to the link and bingo
  14. Nice article,thanks for the post/pdf
  15. This is music to my ears, Z's gaining the respect in the Classic car hobby . I know that mine is not an original restored one but she has all the nostalgic appeal plus an attitude with a professional LS1 conversion. Was not to love, she is a Cali car, with a fist rate paint job done over ten years ago that looks as if was done a few months ago, a perfect dash , a cabin that is well preserved, leather seats, A/C, a killer stance with Panasports, balance suspension, strong subframe work , disc brakes on all corners, naked bumpers, euro tail lights, a six speed tranny and she gets 30+MPG
  16. I will recommend to replace or rebuilt the brake booster as well :bulb:
  17. I believe the PO has some on you tube under David's aka quik240Z '' Silver Bullet '',I will do a pictorial soon and will show all that was done and how well she has been preserved, she was built to high standards, a Z MASTERPIECE, a fine feline.I have gotten a tons of complements I intend to keep her in it's pristine condition, the brake booster had a light hiss and the pedal felt a tad hard, so I opted to remedy it as preventive maintenance :love:She was in hibernation for almost two years, so little love has been demanded by her

  19. Yep, I feel linear after this piiisssiiiiiiuuuuuppp day
  20. My 1972 built on FEB has a 71 brake booster, after a long search to secure a booster and damaging an used Ebay'' special'' one:stupid:, I located a rebuilt unit but it turn to be a wrong size , the one that came out after breaking my back and it was a pain in the a$$ to remove is a 71 part:mad:, I did my search and felt confident in doing the job myself:cool:, also felt that I had order the proper one:finger: , but I guess this is what this hobby is all about:cry:........... it all good and OK the correct part will be here tomorrow, the vendor took the part back and after several calls located the 71 unit
  21. Today on PAPI'S day went to the local car meet, lots of shinny iron , my silver Z got's lot of complements. The was a vendor doing touch up/scratch repair on site and I had mine done, so I give my Z a mini spa treatment, she shines like a silver newly minted coin
  22. It might had scored 100 if she had better stance, that is the v8 Z not the girl
  23. It is called ''character'' , also normal 70's old technology , mine has it to and I like the vintage feel
  24. The dynomat on the fire wall plus the tranny hump should quiet it down some ,I have that on mine and it is a very comfy cabin

Seems that this question/curiosity is on the radar lately, just this morning at my local DD an owner of a 2012 Challenger R/T a Vanishing Point style car, while sipping his java and contemplating both my car and his, he started a converse with me, we talk about the good old days and the Z conversion, then the above ? appear and the similar response was given, his reaction was that he had paid close to 55 G's on his new ride and that my old/restored/redone/converted/ crazy money/Z has more WOW factor than his Hemi
