  1. Yes, a '77, and I haven't opened up my AFM yet. It looked as though someone glued it together. It was replaced as far as I'm concerned. How does the fuel kill switch work in the AFM exactly? And my fuel consumption isn't a problem. It's a whole weird electrical issue that I'm working on(I'd rather not buy a new harness) Also, yes I'm aware of the dangers of getting in an accident with it running like that, that's why it's only temporary(like 3 days), but I wanted to ask if there'd be any performance problems to running it like that for a few days.
  2. is there anything wrong with hooking direct power up to my fuel pump and running it off a toggle switch? basically i toggle it on when i start the car, and turn it off when i turn the car off. I plan to also hook up a light to it to signal that it's on so I never forget. this fix is only so I can drive to get parts while I figure out my electrical issue.

thanks, and I had found it earlier. my problem i've found out is a huge electrical issue. my relay clicks just fine. i'm slowly going through my entire electrical system(i'd rather not buy a new harness) and finding what exactly is going on. it's complicated basically...

well, so far... car runs when i spray starting fluid in. car runs when i hook up a 12v to the fuel pump. the relay clicks(it's a dual relay so i'm unsure how to tell) i ran the test in the FIB and I fail a few of them. the first test fails when testing the control unit pin #10 won't read the battery voltage (however, if i'm in ACC it reads voltage) the fourth test fails when testing the control unit pin #14,15,30,31,32,33,34 they won't read the battery voltage at all ((however, if i'm in ACC it reads voltage)) i'm kind of stuck now. i'm trying to work with what it says when it fails, but it's a bit of a pain to understand. says look at EF-54 for the Power Relay, and I'm unsure exactly as what it's wanting me to check.

Just got the fuel injection bible, It's late now, I'll run through those basic steps tomorrow. Hopefully I can find the problem. It's just so weird that it ran just fine since I bought it a month ago, and when I turn it off, and then back on literally 5 minutes later, It no longer works.

I have been driving my car for the past month just fine, getting roughly 18mpg with no problems; however, I went to the store, and when I came back, my car wouldn't start. I have a half tank of gas in the car. I took off the boot between the air filter and held the flap open, and still no fuel being delivered(I also don't hear the injectors spray). The flap in the AFM isn't opening when I give it throttle while turning over, is this normal? I took off the fuel line before the filter and when I turned it over, no fuel would pump through. I purchased a new fuel pump, but I have not installed it yet. I wanted to get some help as to what else I should check before I replace it and not waste money. What else should I check before I just start replacing parts? And how would my car randomly just stop working like it did when it's been running fine? Thanks for any help you can provide.
