  1. Need to know where in Kansas you are located? I may be able to get one of those cranks from you. I will be coming thru that area next month and may be able to pick it up in person. I have to go to North Carolina to give my youngest daughter away on the 23rd of Feb 02. Also need a phone number where I can reach you? I am located in Colorado and may pick it up coming or going there. My e-mail address is Richard.Jerabek@State.CO.US . my phone number is (970) 330-8656.

Need some more info on what you are going to do with the car and what the carbs have in them at this time? Do you plan on racing it and what kind of racing is it? Or is the car just doing street duty? What kind of engine mods have you done to it if any? Do you have a header on it? Do you have a cam and which one is in it? About the carbs, do you know what size jets are in it now and what size chokes are in them? The carbs are not that hard to get right. The hardest part is to get them synchronized. Give us some more info and we may be able to help you>
  3. The 280ZX 5-speed transmission will fit in the Z with no problem. It should just bolt in. The handle idea in the last post is a good one. I didn't do it to mine and I had to cut a small area of the fuze box area to get it in. You can all so shorten the shifter by a inch and retap the treads. So it won't hit your stereo. You already have put in the later model rearend. To make the 5-speed work the best. The older 280Z rearend is not good. The 280ZX rearend is the best. If you can find a 3:90 geared rearend, put it in and have a great off the line machine. Most everything is a bolt on. Good Luck with it.
