  1. Nice one Gav.:classic: Has the rear bumper just been taken off or are the quarters & rear moulded?
  2. Carlos is on holidays atm. I found him very helpful though so give him a call after the holiday season. Sorry to hear about your bad luck.
  3. Well, my first official drive wasn't all that fantastic. You see my alarm won't stop going off and even though I've disconnected the alarm horn the blinkers go off every so often. It's not fun driving around with your hazards on. Oh well. Off to the electrician tomorrow morning.
  4. I've just screwed the plates on, stuck the rego sticker on and I'm about to venture out. So I guess I don't have a story as yet but this is an exciting moment in itself so I thought I'd share. I did drive the car unregistered around the block yesterday. Temptation got the better of me. Anyhoo, turning into my street I saw this very good looking girl so I had to let her pass even though I was holding up traffic. She didn't take her eyes off of the car (couldn't be me cause I'm below par as they say). As I turned the corner I had to look back and lo and behold she'd stopped and was further checking out the car. At this point my head hit the passenger side window. :classic:
  5. I was waiting for someone to say that. There are only 6 links in the Aus section. I've already got double that. Besides, not all the suppliers have websites. Thanks anyway. Carn guys, post up your resources. Even if you have a phone number only. I'll call them up and get the rest of the details.
  6. My drivers seat rocks back and forth and I can't imagine Nissan meant for this to happen. The bottom piece of metal with teeth moves up and down but only when the seat is in a normal driving position. When I lay the seat back (undrivable) it doesn't rock. See photo for the piece of metal I'm refering to (sorry but it's a bit blury). Is there an easy fix short of buying the whole set for the reclining mechanism? Thanks
  7. This is my interior after a good clean. Unbeliavable amount of dust had accumulated. Missing an ashtray, ends on handle of pasenger side, and handbrake cover needs replacement
  8. thanks. i'm a big fan of the old search button. there's always something to be found and if you've got a problem, chances are someone already has been through it.
  9. Ok. So does anyone know what product is better then?
  10. Brian, thanks mate. Having a look now. Steve, Shannons has a personal vandetta against me. Well, it's not really their fault. You see I've had a license suspension for speeding. One of the resons I sold my Skyline. The other one was insurance was extortional. I'm going with Just Cars who are the only ones other than NRMA who will insure me. NRMA only does market value which is $4,500AUS. I'll be 25 in a little over 3 months so it should proove easier to find better cover then.
  11. The car starts pretty well and idles smoothly after the initial shock of being started. I haven't driven it for long distances though. Plug wires are fairly new and the clutch is new along with a reco 260 tranny. It used to be an auto untill recently. Will do the points. The choke doesn't seem to be making much difference so I'll get that checked out. Otherwise I'm ready to rock 'n roll by the looks of things. Cheers
  12. So what should I do since my car will be registered tomorrow for the first time in over a year? So far I have- -changed oil -filters -plugs -coolant -drained fuel -brakes are ok but will change fluid next week -tune carbs next week ummm, what else? Is there any additives I can use to clean the engine or something like that? Thanks:classic:
  13. That is some dirty fuel. Forgive my stupidity but why is that super yellow whereas the one I used today was pink? Different addatives?
  14. It's the original colour with black interior. It was painted recently but on the outside only. btw, Carlos says hi Steve
  15. Thanks for your welcome and responses guys. I look forward to learning alot from everyone here and sharing my limited knowledge. A couple of questions- EScanlon, why not use Armour All? The drivers seat rocks in its position. The passenger one seems to be fine. Is it just loose and needs tightening? Or is this another Z thing. Late last night when I brought her home the alarm started going off. The control didn't work so I tried to open the bonnet to disarm it but could not for the life of me open it. It pops open and when I try to unlatch it nothing seems to move. It has been opened infront of me several times so I guess I was doing it wrong:stupid: Anyway, I had to give up as it was late and the alarm was keeping everyone up. It turns itself off after a few cycles. What seemed like an eternity actually
  16. Thanks Mudge. I just got her home on a trailer. She needs a good clean up interior wise and a major service as it was sitting in a garage for a while. Oh and the alarm wont turn off once it gets going. I think the batteries in the control are dead. I can't lock the drivers side door by pushing the lock. I have to use the key. I doubt this is normal as the passeger side is ok. Is there something wrong with the lock mechanism? Or is this normal?
  17. that pic used to be my background for a while at work about a year ago. i found it very funny as did the whole office Merry Xmas everyone!
  18. Does anyone have a complete list of parts suppliers in Oz? If there isn't one I wouldn't mind starting one. My idea is this- -post every work shops address, numbers, weblinks, contacts etc Australia wide. There's no reason why we shouldn't include resources that will deliver to Aus as well -I'll collect them all and organise them into an excel sheet where they can be sorted by the individual by state, type etc -when I have a decent set I will ask who wants it and e-mail it to them. The collection in this thread alone would be handy to have as well. Sooo, please post all your resources:classic:
  19. A 26TT in a light shell. Now this I would like to see. Cuong, how much power are you putting on the ground?
  20. I've got the same wheels on my car. I wonder who manufactures them.
  21. Thanks guys :classic: Well, answer me this and I'll tell you how much it was. Would you pay over $10k for it (from the limited information you have)? Seeing as the other ones I saw were in a different ballpark condition wise but not too far off the price I thought it worthy enough for me to stretch the budget a bit and save money down the track. I was always going to try to own an original 240 either by buying one close to it or semi-restoring one. This one just fell in my lap and I'd have been an idiot not to buy it.
  22. Thanks Steve and thanks to everyone else for your help.
